Probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had in CPT.Both pizzas we bought were vegetarian (number 2, number 6) and delicious however enjoyed number 6 more due to its extra cheesiness.Pizza base is super fluffy and soft, not too thin/too doughy. Good sauce and cheese ratio that combine well for this wood fired pizza.Slightly on the pricy side however worth it.Tip: Highly recommend going at lunch time (on a Sunday) like we did for a more quiet vibe and good service.Overall: Great experience worth trying, will be back.
Super cute spot💕💕located in vibey Bree very easy to find. The service is good and quick as well. The pizza base is so fresh menu as well as drinks is a bit limited. But if you’re a true pizza fanatic you’ll appreciate the authenticity of their Italian style pizzas and fresh ingredients. I went very hungry and I must say I was impressed by the sizes they served. Overall a nice place to visit, and very clean. ❤️
Dont be fooled into thinking this is a bakery. They offer Pizza and Salads but its more of a cocktail bar then anything else.I love the ascetics of the venue and the staff seem to understand and build a great experience but I found the cocktails a bit boring and the pizza was soggy and not the greatest in the flavour department.I wish the food and drinks matched the look and feel
This place was adorable, I loved it! A bit on the pricey side though, but the pizza and drinks are great, so tasty! They even have an in-house DJ, which I thought was such a cute idea and his taste in music was definitely on point with mine. Would 100% recommend visiting.
If youre visiting Cape Town you have to stop here. After eating here Sunday for lunch I immediately came back for dinner on Monday. And Im definitely going back. Really good service. Friendly and helpful staff. Doesnt matter how much youre spending they treat everyone like an important customer. The music on Sunday was perfect as well--compliments to the DJ.
Hands down the best pizza in South Africa! Super fresh with authentic italian ingredients 🤞🏾😍I LOVE THE DOUGH, Bree Street, CPT CBD@ilovethedoughctFood: 5/5Aesthetics and Ambiance: 5/5Service: 3/5Price: $$$/ $$$$$FOOD:Hands down the best Pizza Ive had! It tasted like the base was made from scratch and it was a fresh hybrid between a crispy thin base and soft, fluffy thick base around the edges. The tomato sauce used and the pizza toppings are also super fresh and authentically Italian- I.e. they use real Italian cold meats like parma ham and pancetta, extra virgin olive oil, quality parmesan etc.AESTHETICS AND AMBIANCE:This place is so fun and quirky! The decor make you feels like youve stepped in to a pink, blue and neon bubblegum dinner with a modern cheeky edge given by the giant dinosaur wallpaper and carefree punk signs on the mirror and roof.SERVICE:Ill admit, I did come on a random week day afternoon, so it was quite empty and there was literally one waitress and barman. Nonetheless, she was super casual, friendly and nice. The food takes a while, but definitely worth the wait and the freshness!
The pizza was very good but quite pricey. The atmosphere is very much more aimed towards younger people. The wait staff were also very friendly.
BEST PIZZA IN CAPE TOWN!Always a great experience with this amazing restaurant! The most delicious vegan pizza ever! After having an issue with a previous order, the owner and manager have made sure that every order after has been perfect and delicious as always. Thanks for the awesome food and awesome service 🤤🍕
If you’re black, maybe don’t go there. We experienced blatant preferential treatment being given to white girls over us. It was heartbreaking because the store is cute, but Cape Town has a lot of other cute places that don’t discriminate
Although this place looks amazing the pizza did not change my life. It seems geared towards a younger crowd who love taking photos for social media. Theres no real variety of foods with options of pizza being the only thing available. Sadly the pizza itself wasnt really anything special. I like this place but it wouldnt be in my top 10 to return to
The pizza was outstanding. The crust. OMG. I found a hair on my pizza right at the end of my meal, and the waitress informed the manager, who took the whole pizza off the bill and gave us half price drinks. I did not expect such generous hospitality at all, so that was a really pleasant surprise. Very vibey place with a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
It had very chill vibes and the staff was really nice. The food was really good but a little pricey.
Great taste, perfect pizza dough. A little mishap with ubereats order being canceled by them but replacement order was prepared quickly
Pizza is nice, the drinks could be a bit better in terms of variety.
Second time we are waiting over an hour for our pizza because theres a problem in the kitchen . First time they tried to blame the Uber drivers who told us they were losing money because I Love Dough had a massive delay. Not bad pizza if youre prepared to wait over an hour and half.
Great service and the best pizza I have had in a long time, ate every last bite!
Okay here’s the situation. Firstly, and most importantly, it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Really, like, incredible. It is VERY loud, which some people love, and some people hate. But just expect it to be loud. Also for some reason lots of “woo” girls with bleached hair and piercing laughs seem drawn to the spot. Don’t be discouraged by them, just sit further away from the suspicious looking ones and enjoy the pizza, it really is great.
Pizza is decent but wins with the best base. Loud music with DJ if thats your vibe. Id go back for the pizza. Good service.
Great staff even better pizza.
BEST PIZZA IN CAPE TOWN! and believe me I was looking for it for a while till I have found this gem. the only downside that its a bit far from me, but dont mind driving 20min for this experience.
I thought ludacris was a rapper...until I saw the prices of the pizza here. You cannot charge over R100 for a margarita, pizza was literally invented to be affordable and easy to make food. Definitely not the worst pizza, but also not at all good enough to pay the same as what you would pay if you actually flew to Italy and bought a pizza in Rome at some tourist trap.
Good service and nice food. Wish the cocktails had more alcohol and flavour though
Best pizza dough you’ll find in cpt, feel like the sauce and cheese need some updating but will be back in hopes of improvement.
The food there is made with love and its amazing
Really cool place with delicious pizzas and cocktails. It gets a tad noisy so if youre looking for a more chilled vibe where you can chat then this isnt the place. If they add craft beer on tap then my next rating will be 5 stars 😁
Great vibe. Good pizza
Tourists be careful!! these ppl will rip you off!!I was in Cape Town for vacation with my sister and we decided to try this cool little pink spot. We got a beer and a gin and tonic and then we left. Bartender (Chris) was super nice and there was a nice environment. Next morning when I checked my bank account the charge increased about x7 more times of the amount that we consumed. Next day I Spoke with the Manager (Tristan) about what happened and he not only apologized to us but also promised a refund. He also showed me the final receipt and the tip was about 40% of the total amount of the bill. I was shocked!! because we actually tip cash the bartender. I felt very disappointed and cheated. Today after a month, the owner hasnt replied any of my emails, has not even offer an apology about what happened in his/her establishment and I havent received a refund although they asked for my bank acc information. I have attached the copy receipt with amount paid which in American Dollars is $57 (the most expensive beer and tonic in the entire world)!
The most important thing about a pizza is the base/crust. If I dont want to eat the crust then it is not good pizza. Best crust I have ever had and the gorgeous fresh ingredients are an added bonus. Too good.
Great food, beautiful and intimate setting and amazing feel from the lights to artwork on the wall.
A night well spent at quite a lovely venue.
Interesting ambience, very bright and modern. A little hard to converse over the loud music. The no 1 (Margherita) was extremely dry, the no 2 was good but the truffle oil was indiscernible. Chilli and garlic oils were great. Close to being a great pizza but just not quite there. Wont be rushing back
Good pizza, great vibe.
Unique, vibrant, inspiring. A breathe of ever fleeting fresh air
The gluten free pizza dough was just terrible for a place called i love dough . The toppings were tasty though.
Not the best pizza but great vibez, great music, lovely set up, friendly staff, i love it.
Delicious pizza, but way too overpriced for me.
Great pizza and vibe, just wish they didnt play the music so loud.
Daughter went with friends for her 16th Birthday and didnt enjoy it at all their waitress was so unfriendly and not very attentive.Maybe it was just her group of friends but I highly recommend you do some proper training with your waiters wish I could name and shame but she didnt bother to introduce herself.
The service was great
Its a vibe. Its a moment. Its not so much a great restaurant.I Love The Dough as a name wrongly presupposed my feelings on on the food quality. Each pizza served at our and neighbouring tables was brown. Brown is not an exciting colour for food.It was incredibly loud. Loud can be fun! Loud as a force of nature where at best you can just stare at anyone you arrived with because any attempt at conversation is just hopeless is not fun.Service was zero to non-existent. The waiters show up when you heavily hint that maybe, maybe, you perhaps want to order some food or drinks. We eventually went to the bar to get drinks, and the bar made us pay up front for the affront of leaving our customer zone. Our food order was taken by a lovely waitress who promptly then forgot about us, and our food came to the table in sequels, one pizza after the other in 5 minute increments.Hey, the purple neon thing is cool. Go for that. But dont get your hopes up about the food.
Love the look, hated the service.Myself and two friends recently came to try the chocolate pizza.. but oh boy, were we in for a surprise. Firstly, our waiter took forever to take our order, once we ordered, we were later told that they were out of ice cream, leaving our chocolate pizza looking sad af! Fair enough, that wasnt our waiters fault. I just found that from the beginning, she wasnt friendly or even helpful during our no ice cream situation. I was really put off from the place as Ive honestly never been treated with such lack of friendliness or warmth else where.I cannot judge the food as we didnt order any but it sure looked appetizing based on the tables next to us. Its just a pity that I wouldnt visit again. I guess the most disappointing part was that it just seemed to be us that were experiencing such poor service. Im not sure of the reasoning behind this.
Bad service and rude service
Great service but limited menu
Small space with so much atmosphere AAAAND Pink!
Great pizza, lovely ambiance, attentive service
The pizza is so good and the vibe is always amazing. Highly recommend it
Excellent piazza.
Good looking pizza with thick crust and thin base like socks. Tomato sauce tastes funny maybe too sweet (probably by the choice of cherry tomatoes in their tomato mix?!), mozzarella cheese great and other ingredients decent quality. Great vibes, live dj music, service and management great. Security is simply the best: I was invited to leave the premises after I try to bring a middle age guy outside, to simply talk with him after he grabbed my wifes bum in front of me. 😂😂 Ad Majora!
Absolutely amazing service and the best pizza in Cape Town!
Everything is perfect!! Absolutely love this place
Good vibes , friendly staff and awesome music
Service was excellent and funky. The look of the place really is inviting, will defs recommend this place💣
Best Pizza in TOWN !
Pretty inside BUT Extremely poor service!
Really awesome pizza and party joint (BYO) in the heart of Cape Town. Fun decor with amazing food and service from Clare and her team. Could do with a slightly less mainstream drinks menu, but thats minor!
Amazing vibe with Fantastic Pizza all created by Great staff ! Best Pizza spot in Cape Town right now !!
Great simple pizzas! Staff is bubbly and very well managed!
Its a vibe.
Great place. Met the 5fm crew there. :)
