This restaurant serves wonderful food and offers a gorgeous view of the vineyards with mountains in the background. The staff were also very friendly. If youre going for the zipline, note that you can only use the bathroom if you are a customer of this restaurant.

Very lovely place. Views are great and the fire place was really cozy creating a nice atmosphere. If I have any complaints it would be just that the waiter was not always sure about what was available on the menu. There was no hot chocolate available on a cold winters day which was on the menu. When scones were ordered the waiter said that they might not have any left. Overall great experience!

Weve been here 2 days in a row for breakfast as we are staying at the boutique hotel on site. Breakfast was good both times, service was a bit hit and miss. Most of the staff are quite friendly and smiley but one in particular is not particularly attentive and I had to ask for water twice as hed gotten distracted by another table (there were only the two tables So not very busy). My main reason for the 3 stars is because I booked a table for us over a month ago for 5pm on Friday as they now are open for dinner on the weekends. We got there a bit later but it wasnt even open and no-one had thought to tell me that my booking had been cancelled. It was a bit inconvenient as we have a young baby so need to work around her bedtime and had to find another restaurant nearby that would accept a walk in on a Friday evening.

Unfortunately not a good day. Apparently the owners are stuck overseas due to lockdown so staff trying to cope on their own. Even though we had made a reservation for lunch at 1pm, we waited 2 hours for our food. We have been there before Covid and always had a good experience . Much empathy to the 1 waiter who was doing his best but obviously they are not coping.

This turned into a surprise for me. I have eaten here a number of times but since Covid had not returned. When I did the other day I was impressed with their new menu and even more impressed with the food when it arrived. It is now one of my top 10 breakfast spots in Cape Town

Excellent setting, absolutely beautiful! Right up and above all the other restaurants below and in the valley so, naturally you have the best view of both sides of the mountain. The food and service is excellent and presented in true estate style. If you are visiting Cape Town this is one for your top 10 list. Great place for a date.

A very disappointing experience. We stayed at the Silvemist Hotel because we booked a dining experience at La Colombe. In the afternoon, we thought we check out the Green Vine. We asked for a Bubbly, sold out, than asked for the wine list they do not have, which is a bit strange for a wine estate. No they only have white and red wine. The white was their own SIlvemist Sauvignon Blanc, but I am not a big fan of that, so we decide to try the red, but that was not from the farm itself. So then we decided on a beer. For food we wanted a beef burger, but also sold out. We went for the chicken burger, very easy dry not tasty at all (and not cheap either), we wanted some mayonnaise with the fries but also sold out. Come on guys, you can do better then that. It does not matter if you should come on a friday, saturday or sunday, make sure you do your stocking right. Toilets are dirty. The view is nice, but that is about it.....We did not dare to come back for breakfast the next day. Such a shame, the more because La Colombe is a real treat and a proper experience, but the rest on the estate is very very poor and disappointing......

Such a gem. We never imagined the views wed be treated to as we drove up through the Silvermist estate. Wow. Just beautiful. We went for a special breakfast and we werent disappointed. The coffee was great, the service unintrusive yet professional and the food tasty. The cooked breakfasts were prepared well. Best of the lot was the All Day Rosti, generous on the bacon and hollandaise sauce. The Silvermist Scone (VG) was good, but a little petty to be charged extra when asking for cream. Admittedly theyd no longer be vegan, but they werent ordered because they were a vegan option.Yes, well definitely go back. Looks promising for lunch and dinner too.

I dont know how many times I passed the Silvermist Estate, thinking it was a residential estate. Until today when I luckily didnt miss the turn into the driveway right after Constantia Neck. The driveway leads all the way up until you reach the parking lot. As expected so high up the road, the views are magnificent, across Constantia Valley all the way to the mountains. Beautiful! We sat outside on the deck on this beautiful sunny day and enjoyed a slow going breakfast. Fresh ingredients (including the bacon?!), delicious meals including a lot of vegan/vegetarian options. We truly loved our stay and will be gladly back for the rösti and benedict, followed by coffees.

We were so disappointed. We invited overseas visitors for Sunday lunch. The Sunday carvery was finished because of a wedding, so we ordered from the menu. We waited for an hour for our lunch. (burgers). The side order of chips were under cooked! We were seated in front of the bar and the room was freezing. Altogether an unpleasant experience! Tell people up front there if there will be a delay with their food, then they can decide if they are prepared to wait or not.

I dont often write bad reviews but todays visit to Green Vine Eatery could not have been worse. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. We waited a few minutes to be seated which was completely fine. We then sat down to order drinks, which I had to follow up on, about 30 mins later. As soon as the drinks arrived we ordered food because we could tell it was going to be a bit of a wait. Coffee and tea arrived cold, they forgot the milk with the tea, the crockery was dirty. I asked for an extra hot flat white, they proceeded to put it in the microwave to heat up, it boiled over, they didnt even bother to wipe off the side. After an hour I enquired about the food, we had a todler with us who was tired an hungry. I asked if his food could maybe be brought out first, with that being said the manager told us that the food was ready and has been standing on the collection counter for a while. Toddlers food came out, 5mins later one of our orders came out. We waited another 20 mins and still nothing for the other 3 people. The manager has no ability to work with customers or to remedy the situation, in her word I dont even know what to say.Another note was that the bathroom was not clean, toilet was blocked, no toilet paper, paper towels or soap. In a pandemic one would think that doing the rounds to check on that would happen more frequently than normal.Overall it was a bad experience and I would NEVER go back.

This was a serious disappointment. The service was awful, the food took a very long time to arrive, and arrived cold. The food itself was mediocre at best - the burger buns were stale, the burger wasnt particularly tasty, and it had the wrong texture. Bizzarely, they are not currently licensed to sell wine. Perhaps they were just having a bad day, but unfortunately it meant that it was a pretty bad experience.

This was officially the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. When we placed our orders we were notified that they did not have cheese in stock !! Incredibly slow service and plates weren’t cleared by the time the bill came- despite it being relatively quiet.Had a burger, which was overpriced considering it only came with a tomato and cheese slice with lettuce. Supposed to also have pickles which was missing- the waiter brought 2 unsliced gherkins when our meal had finished which was advertised as “home made pickles.”We weren’t able to have a glass of wine as they “have problems with a liquor license”- a bit unexpected at a restaurant in a wine vineyard. The view is spectacular though!

Disappointing considering this was my first time at Green Vine Eatery. The setting is lovely. My food was good but the service was shockingly appalling. I also asked twice for a bowl of water for my dog. Never arrived. We were a party of 12. Most of us ordered eggs Benedict. One person ordered with Salmon which did not arrive until after he was finished. Two others never got theirs until the rest of us were nearly done eating. Our one friend did not get his food until we were all done and plates were being cleared and the person who arrived late ordered last got her food before him. My friend who ordered the Salmon wrap said it was tasteless and the avo was mouldy. All round it was a bad service and very disappointing. I would give 2.5 stars but it does not allow.

One star for the poor waiting staff who were the only redeeming factor of this place. Our end of year function was booked here... So were at LEAST another 4 businesses at the same time. They were absolutely overbooked and totally under-catered.People didnt get starters, the mains were dismally small and the desserts were, well a hunk of mush they were calling bread and butter pudding, or 2 apparent brownies with a teaspoon-sized serving of ice-cream...I wont get started on the raw potatoes we were presented with (clearly nuked in a microwave with spice thrown over them) as an, Oh oops, heres your sides we forgot to include with your mains...Nope, again. Poor waiters did their best with what was obviously a management and/or head chef bungle. Wont be back and neither will the 50+ colleagues and their friends and families Im afraid.

The staff were lovely. But my salmon eggs Benedict was absolutely awful and at a staggering cost. My eggs were beyond over cooked they crumbled it was the hardest egg I have ever seen. And the salmon was in fact kippers. The food was really a terrible disappointment. My rooibos cappuccino was simply rooibos tea with a little foam. So overpriced and really sad. The only thing that saved the experience was the adorable resident duck and bunny. They need to drop prices or up their food game. Else Ill only go back for water and duck visits.

For a combination of magnificent views and good food this is the place. The change in management has made a marked difference. So get away from the bustle of the city or for the sight seer, the Green Vine Eatery is not to be missed.Perched on an enclave in the Silvermine Mountain this restaurant has a beautiful setting. The drive from Cape Town up the magnificent Constantia Nek gives you glimpses of the beauty to come. There is a country feel once there. With vineyards right in front of your table, on the deck. The vista is bordered with hillocks, then opens out to a wide open space in front, to overlook the lush suburbs of Cape Town and beyond. This magnificent vista changes with the weather making the cloud formations a magical spectical.Rabbits, ducks, chickens and pigs amble along between tables, doing their daily task of foraging for food. We were lucky enough to be visited by a mother pig teaching her piglets about life. It was a show stopper; except it was real, right next to our table. This is as close as you can get to nature in suburbia. An ideal place for children. The service was excellent and the food good. With animals living around you, there is a excellent choice of vegan and vegetarian food. The food was arranged artfully on the plates, making the breakfast a feast for the eyes as well.
