I just entered the building to visit the bathroom since I was in pain at that moment and they were closest. Even willing to pay the 25rand parking if I was to take long.. but security at the desk denied me and said I may not because the building is closed 8 am in the morning but parking seemed to be open.. Even after explaining to them its urgent and asking nicely. Two of the bathrooms had keys hanging on them at the time and seemed they were just done cleaning them. I asked a second time after viewing the keys hanging on the doors. But still no humanity were present. If this is acceptable behaviour from security to deny a person a bathroom while standing in front of an open bathroom,, I guess its safe to say in my defence that nobody should support this buidling

I went to Pick n Pay Bo-Kaap in Strand street today and had the most unpleasant experience Ive had in a while....I wanted to weigh my vegetables, so I called the first person with a uniform on, that I saw or was in proximity. This guy, I even forgot his name, looks at me as if I was speaking a foreign language and walks away. Instead of telling me hes going to get someone, he just prances off. I then realize that he was going to get someone as he couldnt assist. He then went to get a security guard who very kindly assisted me. Why couldnt he weigh these vegetables but a security guard from another company could? Is he not being upskilled or trained to take on more than one task? This could also be one of the reasons for his poor attitude. And then a few minutes later, I wanted to get cheese. I then pick up the grated cheese only to find that its moldy. Coincidentally, the same guy is in plain sight, so I tell him, sorry, just so that you know, this cheese is moldy. He looks at me, no acknowledgement, no thank you, no Ill take it off the shelf, no please put it aside, NOTHING. He goes off and pushes his loading trolley in tp the doors. But what grates me more is that after I walked off from that area, he and another man starts to gossip and laugh at me. I turned around and saw them both looking at me and clearly talking about me and laughing. This was the end of it for me because that is just disrespectful!I then went to pay for my things and told the cashier about the cheese as I was sure that guy did nothing about it. She then called the Manager but he also seemed very uninterested in what I said and went off to find the guy and sort the cheese out.Anyway, long story short, this was pathetic service from start to finish. I strongly feel discriminated against by the guy but this is a discussion for another forum/ platform. I also feel that Pick n Pay should train staff to be able to assist customers with anything. Give them the tools they need and maybe this will empower them to want to give more and do better.

Was a good experience. Found most specials I wanted. Except 18 Babysoft toilet baby and they only had a limited amount of Fair Cape low fat milk. No corn special as well. The guy that helps me to my car, Andy, is amazing. Very polite and even helped with weighing my veg. There is one lady that hardly greets or smiles. Will try to look at her name tag next time. She seems to be in a senior position, but helped packed my goods today. Thank you.

Was so happy when this store opened but tonight went to quickly buy my things on the way home and the parking was chaos ! What a lack of planning for a new building ! It is beyond me that a brand new development will have the same cars waiting toExit the boom when backed up blocking the cars trying to enter the parking lot. The convenience of stopping quickly en-route to home disappeared instantly. I will not still stop at my store in Claremont before heading back home and visit the new store - really sad that there was not better planning invested when the building was designed.

Popped in last week for the first time during lock down and was not impressed. Staff were unpacking goods and chatting and laughing, they were not wearing masks and standing right on top of one another anout 5 or 6 of them in one aisle. It made me very uncomfortable that I avoided the aisle completely. Where is management, they should not be allowing this. Not with our current situation.

Review №72

New store in the Bo Kaap so not sure why they are trying to make it seem like this is in De Waterkant when its obviously part of Bo Kaap. Doesnt make sense.I judge a supermarket by the quality of its bakery and the bakery at this store has a nice display with a wide variety of breads, rolls and sweet items. Some baked items are a bit overpriced and breads look smaller than other PnPs. Seems wrong to charge R5 for a koesister in the Bo Kaap! However this store is a million miles ahead of the other PnP in Strand Street. Hope it remains as clean and organized as it is right now.
