2kg no name chicken on special, R59.99, original price R74.99. The till slip showed original price, called the packer at the chicken department, who took me to the customer desk, where a rain check for 30 days were issued, Id and telephone number on stub, 13 June 2021. I went there 4x, cashiers not very supportive, befitting arrogance, 4 came to come and explain how a rain cheque works, inconsideratrly speaking to a pensioner, keep on asking for a till slip.Still have the rain cheque which is what it is, A RAIN CHECK I went to customer service and requested to verify the purchase which was recorded in June.I eventually got the Assistant Manager, explained the situation to him. He politely offered to extend the Rain Cheque for a month, so I can come and produce the till slip.I then indicated that I am not interested as I produced this for the Rain Cheque to be issued. Time, money, Covid, thank you, enough.
Two open tills: at one chatting going on, not helping. Next till the lady looks at me and continues on her phone. Acceptable?
One of the best pick n pay shops
Every Sunday pick n pay closing times differ. I got there 20 minutes to 5 when I ask the security their closing time as trading hours on the wall still states 6pm, but the security said they close at 16:00 on Sundays during the lockdown. Very disappointed
I could never have imagined to experience what I experienced at this Pnp branch yesterday. I had not realised that the store was about to close as there was no 15min call for shoppers to finish up just an immediate call for shoppers to go to the till as staff had already started rushing home. Luckily I was done and proceeded to the till upon the announcement. I had not expected the cashier to scan my items so fast as to say just get done now and have the packer stuff all my groceries in the shopping bags I had given to the extent that it broke because it was overloaded even though I said to add plastic bags, next thing the packer is throwing my pack of chicken into the bush trolley. I was so upset l. I said to them dont throw my food I still had to prepare it for supper. They had no regard for what I was saying, next thing a colleague comes and shoves her avocados and fruit across me as they still packing my thimga into the trolley to have hers scanned so she could pay and they could rush out of thw store. Unprofessional service. Really appalled and disappointed. Wont be seeing me visit the branch any time soon.
Clean and safe
Why does it say that the store closes at 9 Pm, but when we get here they say they close at 6. Please change your trading hours!
So impressed with Pick n Pay - they had an item on special for smart shopper card holders. When I got to the store they no longer had stock. When I went to the help desk - after checking for stock they called the manager who authorised a rain cheq whereby I will be called when they get more stock and still pay the advertised price. I dont know of any other store that will still honour their specials after running out of stock - that is usually their escape clause - but not Pick n Pay! Well done in this day and age to honour your adverts and not look for the easy way out!
No one answers the phone when you call.... I phoned 3 times today with no answer.
Nice store!
Nice store
Everything is superb
Even with far to few cashiers the ones who are there are incredibly rude. Before even greeting me, and i mean greeted in the vaguest possible way she made sure to finish watching her 2 videos on whatsapp. Absolutely pathetic
I do not even want to give this store as much as one star because of the security guard speaking with no regard. I stood infront of this store in a line to get in. The security guard let every single erson in front and behind me into the store but for some reason that he can not answer to I keep getting skipped. I have a mask on etc.
On the 1st Saturday after payday, this bigger picture retail store had very few open tills while quite a number of staff members where standing around enjoying their respective Saturdays! Assuming Checkers remains the better option? Naturally!
The most pathetic excuse of an Pick n Pay I have ever been to. Asked for cigarettes, apparently remembering 3 brands of cigarettes is too hard, had to pack my bags into the trolley myself after paying while the packer just stood there cross-armed. Their boerewors which was expensive tasted like old cheap sausage with no spices at all. Also attempted to buy a tweezers, but when I had gotten home it was no where to be found as the cashier had somehow managed to not scan it along with my other groceries. Would recommend you go to checkers instead when you need to do shopping or just got to a different PnP branch.
There is no words to describe the rudeness and lack of intelligence for the security staff.... when you get to pick n pay you are told to wait out side when you wait out side the guarded then sprayed my hands then tells me to go in to wait at the next section of the line then the other security tells that you may not be there because they didn’t let you come to the line with them....then I get told to go out and wait in line again get sent in again and the same thing happens they really need to sort out there lack of communication.
Truly a verry bad service from security
Herbert Zondi - Cape Gate SecuritySindisiwe - PnP Gate Gate (see photos)These 2 people deserve the biggest applause and recognition from their employers for going far... far beyond the call of duty ... Thank you are such simple words but they carry my absolute appreciation! *Herbert* took my ID and run to get a wheelchair and afterwards put Mom back into the car and ran to return the wheelchair and bring back my ID. Trying to shop with my 88-year old Alzheimer mother in was harder than I anticipated... but these to angels made it possible .... even effortless. At PnP a lady with a beautiful smile *Sindisiwe* said, not a problem ... she simply took the trolley and followed my instructions on what was needed, then took us to a till, unpacked the trolley helped me pay and pushed the trolley to the car and loaded the shopping into the boot... I was overcome with emotion as I hadnt realized just how difficult it was going to be! She simply put her arms around me and held me while I cried ... saying it was all OK!!There are still good people in this world who CARE and want to help! THANK YOU ... GOD BLESS!!
Got a face lift. Variety of clothes grew. Store has a better atmosphere. And staff very helpfull
There are no tellers available at this store. The ones that are there are very slow. If you want to spend your day in a line, you know where to go.
There are simply never enough tellers at this store. You know that every time you visit PnP Cape Gate you are there for the long haul this is made worse by the fact that there isnt enough space between the tools and the shelves for people to queue.
My child was harassed by another customer. The manager promised they will look into it, and get back to me.... still waiting. I only went back once. Never again.
Nice storeLimited variety
SLOW TIL OPERATORS. THEY COULD CARELESS ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS PAYING THEIR SALARIES. WHO EVER IS RUNNING THIS BRANCH IS DOING A TERRIBLE JOB!!! BEEN STANDING IN THE EXPRESS QUEUE FOR 20MINS AND 4 PEOPLE WERE INFRONT OF ME WITH 10 ITEMS OR LESS !! X2 TIMES SHES CALLED THE MANAGER NOW. ABSOLUTE ATROCIOUS SERVICE!
Unacceptable for staff to ask customers for their numbers for no work-related purpose!!
No Express Tills. Slow slow service
Slow. Minimal operating tills. Small store
Nice
Cool shopping
From broken card machines to broken scanners to broken attitudes at the till, this is just a sad place to come spend more money than you would at Checkers.
Big store, well stocked
Really bad service
Your usual Pick n Pay
The worst Pick n Pay yet. Lee trolleys face pay points that customers have to push out of the way to pay. Stand in rows due to prices not applied to products. The security at the liquor store was absolutely inconsiderate about my package that she did not want to tell me that I decided I was going out of my way to a Spar liquor store. Slowly but surely, Im starting to write off Pick n Pays.
