Been here on multiple occasions, and this is a true chocolate lovers cafe. They have a good variety of chocolate products from cakes and bars to milkshakes and coffees. Expect intense flavour, deep earthy cacao confectionary and skilled chocolate crafting. I dont enjoy chocolate milkshakes at all but particularly liked the milkshake I had at Honest. I could say its the only chocolate milkshake Ill ever buy. The cafe itself is in a heritage building that has a very unique Cape Town feel and character. A beautiful, fuss free, simple space with a courtyard youll definitely remember. Great on a warm summer day.

If you are looking for the best brownies in the world, then you need to come to Honest Chocolate.Honest Chocolate is a small artisanal Bean to Bar chocolate company based in Cape Town. They believe in keeping things handcrafted, using old school methods, using quality organically produced ingredients, and making a pure chocolate that has a deliciously distinct feel and taste. And quite honestly, they did it. I love Swiss chocolate, but Honest chocolate manages on the same level, if not better.Try it and you wont be disappointed.

Honest Chocolate is an experience, one which I will be happy to try again. The chocolate treats are decadent in that bean to bar way, where the chocolate is rich and not sickeningly sweet as you would expect from mass produced chocolate. The cafe is also very popular as there was quite a number people on the Sunday that we went.It is a bit of an expensive treat, but worth it if you enjoy chocolate from independent chocolatiers.

Review №18

Everything was perfect, except for their hot chocolate. I asked for a tall and milky one, and mightve gotten a short and dark, because that drink was rather bitter, tbh. Even with a lot of sugar, I couldnt finish it. Id give them a 4.5 star rating, but I dont think I can get that accurate, plus 4 stars is too low, so theyll have 5.

A conscious chocolate business offering a variety of delectable eat in and take home treats of the highest quality. Their service is warm and prompt. Definitely a must visit if in the city centre.

Review №21

I have no complaints ,The Honest Chocolate Café’s Banana bread bunny chow was delicious! The ice cream on top was just the right amount of vanilla bean and not too sweet at all, the ganache atop it was wonderfully dark and just sweet enough to balance the whole dessert out. The spiced nut caramel tart was delicious; the crust was slightly crunchy and the caramel was not too sweet, but if ordering many desserts I would definitely recommend ordering a cup of tea with everything as the desserts do tend to be quiet rich. The pricing is not too expensive considering what you are getting. Overall this place is a must!

We were beyond pleased to find the Honest Chocolate Cafe and it’s great selection of chocolate, treats, and seats! Honestly the seating was fantastic here! The courtyard photos definitely drew us in. The also have coffee, cakes and a whole hidden section at the back that can only be accessed from within the shop.We found the pricing of the chocolates more expensive in comparison to other chocolate shops. You know in the movies where theres always that Nigella style mother making that thick hot chocolate? Well look no further! In the middle of town lies the haven that is Honest Chocolate. I have been through this restaurant many times in the evening to get to the Gin Bar (also, amazing). Finally I was able to go when it was still daylight and I could see all the amazing goodies they had to offer. My sister and I ordered the short and thick hot chocolate and my brother and my sisters boyfriend went for the tall and milky. There were 3 different options - Christmas orange, classic or Mexican spices. I went for classic and got to taste the orange. Personally, as a somewhat simple lady, I love the classic as it wasnt sweet and was super, duper rich and delicious! For someone without a dark chocolate passion, the milky and tall is a fantastic option. Chocolatey milk - hmmmmm. We also had 4 of their truffles - mint, coffee, orange and.... I cant remember the last. They were, once again, delicious. This review may be 100% biased as I am obsessed with chocolate and so I only have great things to say.A must-try if ever in Cape Town! xxx
