The food was spectacular and setting great!Sadly the service let them down. Our drinks arrived after our food was served. We spent a fair bit of time waiting to be attended to and to place an order as well as waiting for the table to be cleared for quite a while too. It wasn’t during a super busy period either. In 3 visits to Four and Twenty I can’t say I have ever received good service here - which is really sad because the food and drinks are so great!Would definitely recommend Green Eggs and Ham!
Beautiful luscious Café vibe with intricate multi layered seating areas.Delicious food with scrumptious deserts and great coffee!Waitrons who are attentive and happy to go the extra mile and guide you as to which meal you may like best.Ample parking with security watching your vehicle at all times.A must visit as a stop in Cape Town or regular get-together with friends and colleagues.
Always a treat in terms of quality and unique pastries and cakes. Quite expensive though and typically the take-away food items are quite high in sugar and carbs which limits options for me. Good coffee. Decent range of deli items too. Seems a nice spot to meet a friend for a special occasion
We received a very warm welcome from one of the employees of the cafe and the necessary safety precautions were taken before being seated. Four & Twenty is a brunch favourite amongst locals as it was already full to the brim at 10 AM.The interior is somewhat vintage but the cafe overall has a warm and calming vibe. They have a variety of sweet and savory eats as well as plenty of vegetarian options.I would definitely recommend it. There is a park accross from the cafe so you could opt for a picnic on a warm day
The food was yummy, but the service a bit hit and miss. The only bugbear was the awful smell of sewerage, most likely caused by the pipes next to the toilet in the outside are at the back.
Very well situated café, I sat in front of the window facing Wolfe street and it was just awesome. I had an Eggs Benedict with spicy chorizo instead of bacon, it wasn’t a great blend. I’ll stick with bacon going forward. My EB was delicious; however, I was a bit disappointed with my café mocha. The service was great and the people working there were delightful. If you are driving past Wynberg; be sure to stop by Four & Twenty Cafe.
Fabulous food and lovely decor, but the service is slow. Yesterday there were kitchen staff issues due to transport problems yet nobody said anything until the end when I complained. Tell your customers what’s going on and they will be understanding.
Wonderful coffee morning with 3 family members. The scones and muffins were delicious, and service was outstanding. Will certainly go again.
Always a great experience. Fantastic waiter who went out of his way to make us happy. Very yummy deli-style food. I personally love the cakes :)
Very good, gets busy and pricy.
I love the feel and atmosphere. When you walk in, you are enticed by the great and delectable sweet treats. You can choose to sit on comfy sofas or firmer chairs. The lovely courtyard is perfect. Blankets are available for cooler days. The food is delicious with lovely colourful and different options. Attention to detail is great. Its a pity this delightful place is not wheelchair accessible.
Nice little cafe in a nice neighbourhood. We bought the best cupcakes ever at this place. As they also serve lunch, this is gonna be my next try.Looking forward.
Amazing food, wonderful service! One of the best breakfast spots in Cape Town in my opinion.
This little gem is an awesome find, very eclectic decor, brilliant service and fantastic food. Definately will return
Best place for coffee and breakfast on a rainy day.Great service.
Lovely and unassuming, vibrantly active but homely atmosphere. Good food, friendly and efficient, nice vibe.
Great morning to be in this cafe situated in the old Wynberg village. We have coffee, hot chocolate, butter croissants, and green Benedict. It was crowded but amazingly, the service is yet good and the food was served hot & fast. Delightful interior lighting ambient. No wonder it invariably had good reviews.
Coffee tastes burnt. Service not great
Great place, great food and service. Vibe is awesome
Dessert worth the calories. Breakfast with umami. Yummy! All pork products are of the best standard, fruit items taste like their natural flavour is accented and intensified in perfect acid tart sweet fruit deliciousness. I love this place, it is slightly expensive but you get the best quality ingredients prepared well. There is no other place I would say beats their patisserie. Brilliant for brunch as well as tea although I do enjoy their calamari salad enough to visit for it specifically. Nice selection of wine. Great coffee. Broad selection of other beverages. I never think twice about heading to Four and Twenty.
The place was PUMPING on Tuesday, 27 April. Só full. The food was good and the atmosphere really lovely. I loved the feeling of the place. I was really disappointed in my chewy chocolate biscuit though. It was dry.Great place though
Based on recommendations from travel websites, I went with high hopes for this cafe. I was told that the build your own breakfast experience was a good one. I cannot say I enjoyed myself, nor was I blown away.Whilst the aesthetic of the restaurant was lovely, the quality and value of the food delivered was not reflective of the cafes appearance. The prices are ridiculously high, and I can categorically say that the difference in taste between the food here and any generic fast food eatery is indistinguishable. For the same portion size at any other place which should have cost R100 at maximum, it cost R260 instead. I was particularly upset by the size of the ciabatta toast. I was given two pieces each no longer than an index finger despite being charged a premium price for it. The rationale is that the food is of a fresh and better quality than elsewhere, yet I tasted very little to indicate this. The service was quick, however staff were arguing in the kitchen very loudly which I cannot call professional or conducive to relaxation.Tl/dr: Far too expensive for food that is no different to a fast food breakfast eatery. Pick somewhere else for a brunch date.
Really cool spot. Coffee was perfect. Menu looked amazing, as did the freshly baked bread and cakes, but sadly we did not get a chance to eat. Fridges filled with local produce and meat. All in all a great idea and great place. Highly reccomend if you are in the area.
The service was a little slow and we only received our drinks after the food had arrived. Id be willing to give them another try as the food was good, though.
The friendly staff makes me want to return just to talk to them and have a coffee.WiFi is available and laptops and cells are welcome. The Food is pleasant and well presented.Prices are fair value. Off street parking opposite is a bonus in the Chelsea area. The merchandise for sale is interesting.Arriverderci
This quaint, cosy space is a stone’s throw away from my apartment and I delight in taking a stroll through the park to this little gem for coffee and cake, or breakfast. I also love marking students’ work here. The food is consistently good, and the staff is delightful and always welcoming. And the bonus is: it’s an all-day breakfast spot!
Very lovely place with adorable settings and decoration. Open plan kitchen so you can see the chef in action. Delicious pastry and baked goods. Great selection of meals and drinks, always satisfied with everything. I love their cakes. A little pricey so you come every now and then only, usually very busy and its a pity the breakfast cannot be served the whole day.
Great Restaurant with great ambience and food. Loved the scones and the Egg be Lien.. Always a pleasure.. Will be back again.
Due to Covid only had coffee, very nice coffee.
It is a cute spot to meet up with friends or grab a quick cup of coffee. Really lovely! Staff is super friendly. Would try it again!!
Lovely, and you can take a small dog if you get a courtyard table.
As always this Cafe lived up to its reputation. The food and service were excellent. It is a pity that the kitchen is now blocked off from common view by a wall. One of the joys of the cafe was seeing the bustle of the kitchen.
A quaint cafe nestled in a quiet part of Wynberg has a very antique theme to its decor. One of the best places for breakfast or coffee dates. The staff are super friendly. Their Caramel & Macadamia Baked Cheesecake is amazing, baked to literal perfection. The Shutupyourface Sandwich is every chocolate addicts dream. With the biscuit base, the sandwich is filled with a gooey peppermint caramel center surrounded by chocolate cake, topped with marshmallow and biscuit, and then dipped in dark chocolate. Its a party in your mouth. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. I also tried their steak pie with caramelised onions and sun-dried tomatoes, and a green salad. The pastry of the pie was absolutely perfect though I was a bit disappointed with the filling, the caramelised onions and sun-dried tomatoes really saved the flavour.
Good food coffee and service. Highly recommended.
Lovely food, vibe, setting, staff... Its become an iconic stop when you can.
Awesome, quaint cafe with great breakfast options.
Great food with a cozy atmosphere and some outside seating as well...worth a visit.
As always, good service good food. Great atmosphere
Ive been here a handful of times and generally have had positive experiences, however that was nit the case on my last visit.I arrived early shortly after opening (0800) and ordered coffee and breakfast. The waitress seemed to lack confidence. After waiting for 30 minutes I enquired where my breakfast was only to be told that the kitchen only opens at 0830, but that my order was number one in the queue. I waited another 10 minutes, and left. Poor service. Poor communication.Very disappointed.I will go again, for sure.
Average food but awful service with unfriendly staff. A group of friends an I were sat for 15 minutes without menus and eventually when we got the attention of a server they stated the couldn’t help us and we had to wait for our server. This is unacceptable in the service industry, if a table needs help you help them no matter if they are in your section or not
Truly delectable breakfast and wonderful setting. Pricey but worth every cent.
Best breakfast!!Also highly recommended for group celebrations in the back courtyard. Private and intimate.
Had a cappuccino and a bacon and cheese muffin. Nicely served with caramelized onions and beetroot and orange. Very, very tasty. Lovely staff. Definitely going back.
Great place to meet, with a great food variety. Good coffee
Went here on a recommendationIf you like unbelievably dry(even lathered with there honey lavenderbutter) tasteless hot cross buns at R36.00 EACH this is the place for youI have had better from Spar!!!
Nestled in leafy Wynberg, this is the best eggs benedict place in Cape Town. They also serve a wide variety of health juices and drinks. Good quality cutlery too. Its truly a one of a kind.
Love the food, nice little place. Very special.
My sisters and I came for breakfast and farai gave us top service. The food and wine was great , good vibes. Will definitely recommend Four & Twenty Cafe to my friends and family.
I enjoyed the personal attention, friendly and patient staff. I only had a glass of wine so I cant say much if anything abt the food. Its a lovely getaway though from the busy Wynberg main road.
Was lovely nice little spot.. Food was great
Worst service ever.I left Four and Twenty irate and hungry after my husband and I waited 40 mins for our food - this while everyone else who came after us (some even groups) got served. I also noticed that those groups and people being served were of another race while my husband and I are interracial. My drinks were out of stock but each time I ordered them, I only got told after 10 mins they weren’t available. Staff should tell patrons upfront what they don’t have/isn’t on the menu. When we left they made no attempt to try and keep us or fix the situation. I called the manager who offered a complimentary meal but after such a horrid experience, I will never return.
Typically what you would expect from a badly run establishment. Cold reception, where I had to wait 15 minutes to be attended to while other patrons who walked in after me were quickly seated and well received. If you enjoy long waits for food and drink, and crispy black bacon then make a reservation.
Such a cute place! The staff are incredibly friendly and the breakfast was delicious.
Lovely spot for a quick coffee and a snack.
Came here because I saw great reviews. Place itself seems really nice, but once we got seated we waited 20mins and not attended to at all. Ended up walking out and even that went unnoticed. They were not busy so no idea why we never got service.Wont be seeing again. Sad because it does seem like a nice place.
The oriental eggs are just amazing ! The iced mocha was so rich and delicious.Highly recommend the rock shandy as well. The only reason it is not a 5/5 was a menu hiccup, as well as no gluten free bread options. The Apple tart was very dry as well.I LOOOOVE this place for breakfast though.
A favorite. Decor is great, food is brilliant, service is good. Free range but not halaal unfortunately. A must try , I cannot recommend it enough
