Awesome spot to grab some delicious breakfast! Their take on an eggs benedict is just awesome and they are very vibey. There could be more seating outside but other than that, this place is a must!

Wonderful little spot! The vibes are truly immaculate & they have a great menu. Their little courtyard is such a cool area with tons of plants! They are always packed so make sure to book a spot. Their decor is great and they have a great selection of organic and fresh groceries if you’re looking for that. I really enjoyed my time there!

Very nice bar and restaurant! We asked for a baby burger and some drinks. The food was delicious and the drinks were well prepared. We weren’t that hungry, so we ordered a baby burger! Perfect size!! By the way, the bun is awesome!!!

I love the menu. The all day breakfasts. All under r100 Im sure. The staff are really lovely too. We got there just before closing and they still allowed us to have a quick bite.

We had such a lovely evening here. Phoned ahead of time to make a table booking, and we were received with such friendly and polite attitude. The waiters were incredibly accommodating and very professional. The food was just as tasty and very reasonably priced. A huge plus is that they are indeed pet friendly! Would definitely recommend and revisit for sure.

Love this spot. It’s the best burger I’ve ever had. The device is abit slow. I had three bad drinks but they made up for it. Parking is a problem. The look and feel is lovely such a good vibe. Also their breakfast is awesome and tasty.

NB to reserve your table ahead on Dine Plan since the place is buzzing once brunch begins.The 3 egg omelette I had was exactly what I expected- prepared meticulously, little oil and packed with vegetable goodness. 👌🏿Unfortunately the staff appeared to be overwhelmed by the number of patrons and I had to place my order twice and request assistance numerous times throughout the dining experience. This seems to be the norm but staff was friendly throughout.

We arrived & the tables were booked, our mistake for not booking a table in advance (I will next time) & the host found us a bigger table to shareI had amazing food, amazing company and an accessible toilet that didnt need extra instructions & was clean & the staff as amazing.I appreciate it so much. Food at Clarke’s is consistently good, even after they reopened their burgers , salads and mac and cheese are delicious, try also the cheese fries. Staff super friendly and if you can have a bench outside is a nice view on Bree street.

Nothing but love for this perfect little breakfast spot! Food is prepared right in-fron of you and is fresh and tasty. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially for how busy they always seem to be! If youre lucky you might even spot a local celebrity or two. Indoor and outdoor seating options and a menu with a little something for everyone. A must visit on your next trip to The Mother City!

If i had to eat at only restaurant the rest of my life, it would be Clarkes. This place is amazing. Very cool interior. Even when its packed, theres still enough private space for one. Great for socialising but also just to have a read or do some work. Now the food...The soups are exceptional, but the grilled cheese on sourdough bread is even better. Mac n cheese was good. And the latte delicious.Also the manager who sorted my payment problem was really helpful and friendly.When in CPT go to Clarkes!

LOOOVE this place. Totally unassuming from the outside but absolutely beautiful inside, as well as simple, delicious, well made food.Very well priced and the service is super speedy. I had a breakfast special that was 2 eggs (however you like it), toast and a coffee for R40. And those eggs were perfect 👌🏽Can’t wait to go back and eat their food again!

Solid 1/5 and the 1 is for the Mimosas which were great. The food on the other hand was extremely underwhelming. I ordered the Hashed Eggs and it tasted like burnt, chopped stir fry with burnt bacon bits. My friend ordered French toast and it honestly resembled a soggy, bread pudding 😓. Overall, quite a disappointing food experience, especially for a brunch lover.

Lovely cafe with outdoor seating and nice vibe! The food was really delicious as well and they have a good drinks and cocktail list. We came for brunch and ordered the hash eggs with haddock and the kimchi fried rice. Both dishes were amazing with perfectly done soft eggs and the service was great. After we had gotten drinks sitting outside, we asked if we could be moved indoors to avoid other diners smoking outside and they accommodated us no problem! The rest of the menu (and other peoples food) also looked fantastic so cant wait to come here again.

One of my all time slots in Cape Town! The burger is out of this world, the labneh toast as well, any cocktail or juice or coffee will make your heart sing. Super talented creatives always work here so know you are surrounded by Cape Town’s best!

Nice place with three different areas for different vibes. Bread and sandwiches are fantastic. The BLT sandwich has so much flavor. Coffee could be nicer, but I also know that I never enjoy coffee out an ugly looking cup. Decent amount of choices on the menu for all times of the day. A great place for a easy breakfast or lunch and a casual place for dinner with friends. I can definitely recommend it if you are on Bree Street

It was an okay sort of breakfast. A bit bland is what I have felt. Service and ambience was sort of okay type.. neither too good nor bad.

This restaurant is really very warm, the waitresses and waiters are welcoming and nice! They did not inherit to make us comfortable. The food was good, nothing to complain about. I will go back there because the romanticism of the place just makes you want to relax. Place to absolutely visit!!!!

For a beer or a burger Clarke’s is the spot. Never that busy it’s a problem and always full enough with the most interesting people in Cape Town. Ps. Their toasted sandwiches are my best.

Clarkes reminds me of a gentrified, urban, diner in a small town in the United States. The diversity of food selection and the music selection, with speedy, friendly service made for a fantastic experience. We had breakfast, but the menu looks great regardless of time of day.

We visited Clarkes Bar & Dining Room for breakfast during our stay in Cape Town, and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. The staff is nice and very attentive, and the overall atmosphere makes the best of outdoor, indoor feel.

A very relaxing dining experience. I specifically sat in the atrium to catch some midday sunlight. In terms of the food I had the Reuben sandwich. It was good, flavourful, but I would recommend changing the Emmental cheese to something less powerful in flavour. It was the dominant taste in the sandwich. Adding some Tabasco sauce made a vast difference but I highly doubt everyone would want to contend with hot sauce. Worthwhile experience #RIPHail

Nice place in Cape Town. Service was a bit slow and not really friendly. Not that many vegan alternatives and when I ordered a vegan dish it still arrived with egg, then they took care of it in a fast way. The food was ok, but small portion for the price you pay.

HORRIBLE! - dont go there with a big group (dont even go there - the waiters are horrible and have not understood that service is key). The staff can not handle a busy night without totally screwing up and most waiters have no clue what they are doing and are all over the show. Firstly the drinks took ages! Secondly, they took wrong food order plus did not even ask 2 people at our table for their order, thirdly...they forgot drinks the whole night and kept dropping single drinks in 30 min time (scotch with ice was served melted after it stood there for 30 minutes), we had to run after waiters to order and no waiter is assigned to your table (table for 8 which was a reservation), forget 5 out of 8 meals (plus in the beginning brought wrong order for another table, gave us one of their burgers and then messed up their order). 3 hours later only 3 of us had eaten (one meal which came was cold and had to be returned > Tomato soup was good but had to be warmed up and the sandwich with melted cheese was by then firm again). Throughout the whole night they ignored the table and we could also see other tables getting upset. Lastly they put things on the bill which we did not order (Careful extra charge for hot sauce which was NEVER mentioned by the waiter!) plus we had to beg them to take our money to get the f*** out of there (payment took another 30 minutes). Customers must really enjoy sitting and waiting to love this place. All of us will never come back and it was an absolute waste of time and money.

This is a great brunch spot in a convenient location in Cape Town. I went for the huevos rancheros which was great. Note that it’s a deceptively huge and incredibly filling - don’t plan to eat a few hours after consuming one of these (perfect for eating early and then exploring/hiking around the city).I’d definitely come back here if I were to visit Cape Town again.

Really good food (and filling too). Rather a small place, but at the back they have a larger place for peeps to sit down and enjoy the meals/drinks. Considering Cape Town, I found the price reasonable for the amount and quality of the food.

Clarkes is a hip diner style venue, with friendly and fun staff and some wacky and fun food and drinks! I ordered cheese toasties with a choice of soup to dip them into - super creative and it was really tasty comfort food!They have some nice beers on tap - my girlfriend and I loved the blonde ale. The cocktails we had were also inventive and delicious!

Sat outside on the 3rd of December, hoping we dont get another lockdown. Great vibe, seems like a nice crowd that goes there, friendly and conscientious. Beer was cold and the beer and shot special was a winner for First Thursday. Staff are friendly and efficient, and tried their best to sort out tables or seats for everyone, given the reduced capacity.I would recommend this place for light meals or a few of the tap with the boys (or girls).

Favorite brunch place in Capetown. Great food, great coffee, great atmosphere. Service is very friendly. The glutenfree seed loaf is delicious. You might have to wait a little, but its worth it.

Food is great, and the kitchen chefs seem so passionate. Mostly, always have a great experience here but not this morning.The front of house staff, one young lady in particular presents herself as arrogant and with a terrible attitude. She corrupts the vibe with her negative energy. Gave me the stare of death, who taught her this? Terrible behaviour.I wanted to generously tip the barista for his friendly service and eventually, I did, however before I could that this the young lady rudely interrupted with an arrogant tone and said that they dont have access to the cash, only the manager does and she gave me a dirty look like we were on the street and she wanted to start a fight or something.... and this was after the lovely barista already explained everything to me. Just unnecessary. Be a nice and kinder young lady.
