I visit the Checkers in Tokai very often and I notice that there is a sign that appears so often on sale items. I cant fathom how nobody seems to notice the grammar. The sign reads REDUCE TO CLEAR. I mean, its just grammar but surely someone in management should be able to identify the issue. Fix the sign, it should read REDUCED To CLEAR Thanx....

A special shelf for Healthy products idea is stupid! After buying normal milk and teas from one part of the shop, one have to walk across the entire shop just to get Almond or Oat milk (on a special shelf) - its madness!

Very poor packing skills. As a youngster I was thought in the same store how to pack a customer croceries. Your packers need training in packing groceries its not brain surgery and learn not to just throw everything in a bag.. And if you dont like your job go find another after all you are the reason you ended up there in the first place.

Poor experience, never has pricing for items, or incorrect pricing and when brought to management attention got a very well it is what it is, no one corrected the error or said sorry for inconvenience. Customer service girl seemed to upset because a refund had to be processed and no one wanted to understand why I was upset...price you see is the price you pay is really not this stores policy. I didnt have my physical savings card so I used my virtual card, and the cashier without my permission just took my phone out of my hand...wow covid protocol out the window , really annoyed and super upset by the level of customer service

Bought a pieces of fried hake from the checkers take away food outlet. Very, very disappointed. The hake was about 5mm thick and the batter was about 2cm thick. In addition the hake was dry, looks like freezer burnt fish and the batter was completely tasteless. Definitely somewhere to stay far away from.

Bought a chicken panini from the deli - filled with the chicken spine and cartilage! Ladies, take pride in what you prepare and serve!

Terrible Chicken SupriseYesterday I bought the roast chicken special at Checkers Hyper Blueroute for 69.99. It comes with a 1.5 Coke Zero. What a disappointment the chicken was! It looked like a chocolate chicken inside. Probably overcooked and sat for many hours or perhaps a day or 2 in the warmer. Truly disgusting. From a previous experience, I know they do not respond, I did not even bother to call them.The worst thing about prepared foods promotions is that quality control is often neglected due to volumes. Stock rotation and temperature checks are the least of their concerns. Its difficult to manage/police, but with food it simply have to be done! Customers lives and health are at stake.So another 70 rand down the drain, but I paid for my stupidity of buying a cooked chicken in a brown paper bag. Its like buying a lucky packet, each one you open is a mystery.

Bought the cream filled lemingtons on special @R35 a dozen at Checkers Blue Route now and I am utterly dissapointed with the product the lemingtons are dry and cut open top center with hardly any cream filling not nice at all ...a week ago I bought the exact same product at Checkers Sunvalley and it was fresh soft cut open on the side and filled with cream it was delicious melting in your mouth...this indicates to me that Checkers product quality is location based and they should be ashamed of the difference in product they sell to their customers why should customers in certain areas be satisfied with an inferior product selling at the same price. What disappoints me more is I purchased the product expecting the same quality Checkers definitely not getting my vote

I were very disappointed with the 10 packs of chicken that I purchased this afternoon at Checkers Tokai.All the packs were off and smelling bad.When I phone the store about it , were transfer up to 3 people and said that Ill get phone call with the next 20 minutes and still waiting.This is very bad service from a Store that just what to take your money.And not looking at after sales service.

I absolutely love Blue Route mall. Very clean all shops easily found. I was never fan of big malls with alota of floors having to walk arou d for hours searching for shops no Blue Route is perfect. The only thing missing in that mall Is a Gym.

The third weekend in a row that Im here in this poor ventilated store. The air con is clearly not working. Im sure its a legal matter regarding poor circulation especially during these challenging times of covid

Brush off service. Price on the item buy one for ex amount and buy 2 get one free. no expiration date on the the label. Manager says o it was only for yesterday and removes the sign. No time to argue but i am suppose to get the special as advertised in store . well done .

Worst service!! 4 cashiers taking 4min standing and arguing whom is going to fetch a barcode that wasnt put on the product in the first place.Useless service!! Not the first time! No wonder their name badges are so small.

It is not the first time that i purchase a Butter chicken pie and recieve something else. This time around i had more faith since the lady serving me came from the back of bakery, thinking she bakes the pies and would know better. After inquiring from colleagues, they say the same happens to them. Checkers bakery staff doesnt know their gourmet pies.

Today at around 14:00 I wanted to draw money today and asked cashier at till 24. The cashier said that she will ask someone to get money from the office as she does not have enough money in her till. She asked someone called Candice.After 15 min I asked her how much longer I must wait and if the girl is going to bring the money. She answered that it could take a while and that she is not sure how long.After 26 min I told her that it seems futile to wait and that I would rather go.She did not attempt to ask someone else or apologise for the long wait for nothing.On my way out I saw a customer service lady whom I told that I have waited almost 30 min for money that never came. She was surprised and said she will phone the office to find out where Candice is with the money.Another ten minutes later I had to ask the customer service lady if the money is still coming. She pointed to a lady and said yes there she is.The two of them spoke to each other in their language and looked at me from time to time. I assume she told her how long I have been waiting.The first one then told me to follow the one with the money to till 24.That one with the money went to till22, gave that cashier money and turned to walk back.I then called out to her that I am still waiting for my money ,but she is walking away. She got agitated telling me that I did not arrange money with her.When I saidvthat her colleague told me to follow her after they chatted she again told me that I she did not go to the office for my money. By then the cashier at till 24 was packing up to leave saying that she told me its going to take a while and the new cashier had to give my money.Needless to say how frustrated I was to have waited 40 min for money.Candice still have not shown up with the money.Please train your staff to serve their customers better and not waste people s time in store.

Went there today because I generally like checkers. This is by far the worst checkers ever. The milk packets were lying in milk and some brown wet dirt. Then I went to the bakery and waited for like ten minutes to be served, even though there were more serving than customers. I asked one lady to help me and she gave me this look of disdain and told someone else to help me... It was obviously beneath her. The woman that took my order then had absolutely no idea what to do and was joking and talking to another employee. In the aisle a whole group of staff were having a disagreement and I could barely get past, some other customers were also unhappy about that. I wish I could do a training course on respect for customers with the staff. If I acted the way the staff there does Id be fired immediately so why should they be allowed this? However the lady at the till and packer were so efficient and friendly it was almost a shock. I blame the managers though because their staff do not respect them enough to be polite or efficient. Next time Ill take a video and post it here and on YouTube.

Tried to purchase a muffin and was met with an extremely rude employee who ignored me to my face 3 times and proceeded to shout at me and call me stupid as well as dismissing me. I informed the managers on duty where she then blatantly lied about what happened and it seems that no disciplinary action was taken. Is this how checkers conducts business? Disgusting behaviour wont be back.

....Overall competitive prices, but unfortunately the store gives off a foreboding sense of being cluttered and totally over-stocked, cutting aisle space to the absolute bare minimum, which creates a never ending trolley jam!The check out staff are just plain miserable and the lack of space in the Check Out area is daft!The Help Desk clearly have NEVER had the concept of where theyre working, explained to them and dont expect a smile or a simple pleasant greeting....that doesnt exist at this Store!The Electronics / Sound Staff are absolutely clueless on their products in stock or availability!Bottom line is that the Store has clearly run out of Space ending up, making the shopping experience one of get in and get out!!!The management of this Store need to be hauled off the Checkers Store at Sun Valley Noordhoek - thats a perfect example of how a Store should look and be run!!

Conveyer belt at till point was filthy, when I asked for it to be sanitized I was glared at! A dried piece of dirty cloth was used and I asked for a wet disinfectant so she rummaged and found a piece of hand sanitizer eventually.To add insult a fight broke out 3 isles away and she jumped onto the conveyer belt to watch the goings on.Gross beyond belief.

A really awful experience as usual. Most of the tills were closed and so those that were open had long queues. Always like this no matter what time you go. Staff are rude and totally disinterested. Left my monthly shopping but had the courtesy to let money market ladies know - met with total disinterest. Same for Heather October at the kiosk. No sorry, just barked where did you leave it? I will just shop elsewhere.

Busy store especially at month end. Has a huge range of products and to date, the staff has been helpful.In house bakery, butchery with a coffee shop.Has a separate liquor store.Also sells small furniture appliances.

The first frustration was the items that were not priced... Had to run around trying to find a scanner or someone to help me. Very frustrating when time was limited. The worst situation was however when I went to your deli to buy a piece of cooked chicken to find a huge green fly feasting on it. As I looked up to tell the attendent she was busy... Bare handed cleaning her nose!... In fact a lady dressed in all white uniform who may have been from the Bakery I assume because of her attire saw it too and laughed and called out and I quotesies! . Needless to say I will never be buying the open to anything produce in your deli ever

Often not packers dont pack item into your trolley that u have paid cashiers unfriendly seeming annoyed that they have to scan your goods and both cashier and packers do not acknowledge you as well as always in their own conversations, I guess thats the reason why Im paying for goods I dont get to take home

Long queues, disinterested staff, missing prices.I dont think I have ever been there when more than half the tills were open. Today the queues were long at the few tills open.This has to be the worst run Checkers, certainly in the Cape Town southern suburbs. Roll on the new Constantia store.

Too little tills open, not enough staff to accommodate more tills resulting in only a few tills being open and queues being backed up down the isles. So paying for goods extremely slow, loaded my trolley to only walk out. Queus are a joke. Wont be returning to this checkers again.

I always enjoy myself here, as the service is good. I was in the baby isle an there was no sales person to assist me with some prices, I asked another sales person who immediately got me someone to assist with the baby goods, an this guy was so patient with me as I wanted to know quite a few prices as there was no price tags on.

Its month end with a handful of cashiers. Its a hyper store they should have more staff and a better shopping experience, its absolutely ridiculous and miserable shopping for the essentials here.

Your general hypermarket. place is kept moderately clean. Staff could stand to be more friendly but they are generally helpful

I dont like going to Checkers Hyper in Blue Route mall. The staff, especially the cashiers seems somewhat angry or upset...I drew money at the till today, asked for R1000 cashier said Dont have. The packer told her You need to ask a superior then she asked. Turns out I could draw the money at her till.The packer told her infront of me You have to try and help your customers the best way possible dont just say your till dont have. I was finished shame! Even the cashiers at the kiosk 😭🙌 iyooooooh! Omw during the week the Priority till/express let me not even get started on how the cashiers will just shooo you away. It clearly says express and priority for people with kids but its become a till for staff only🙌Its like no one wants to work,, bad customer service...I dont like the Blue Route Checkers Hyper at all.

Pathetic to say the least. Called just to find out if they stock linen. Fives times reception xfer me to that dept without any joy of someone answering. And the phone would ring at lengthy periods but no answer. Even then asking to speak to management, had the same response. Last resort a lady called Delia offered to personally go and check if they stock bed linen. Thank you Delia for checking and calling me back.

7 tills open out of 34 on a Sunday at noon. Not sure what management is doing. No help, assistance or apologies.

This shop has a very large area and has pretty much everything you need at home, from tools, outdoor accessories and food. staff are pretty quick to point you in the right directions.

Fresh food quality not always the best and customer care could definitely be better.

Unacceptable that checkers feels it is OK to have queues 10 to 20 persons long, running down the aisles and creating general havoc and frustration. Meanwhile tills are unmanned and the express till has only 2 of 8 open. Exceptionally poor customer service and planning

1 star cause your staff seems daff as F.Fire evacuation alarm went off and staff and security stand there doing nothing. Customers do nothing and no announcement saying apologies false alarm or anything.Pathetic and dangerous if you not going to follow safety regulations then I wont shop by you.

Generally like Checkers, buy 90% of groceries at the Sun Valley Mall ship, but this one is diabolical. Was trying to pay for two vacuum packed steaks at the Kiosk counter, because this time of a Friday the 10 items queue had about 15 people in it. Was told at Kiosk counter that their rules don’t allow it! There was no queue at Kiosk, all I needed to do was pay and go, but they didn’t want my money 🙄😡😡 To add insult to injury there was no manager readily available, so I left. Then I phoned to complain and after 5 minutes had to hang up because still no manager was available to talk to me.......
