Ive visited this place twice and on both occasions I was not disappointed. The smell of freshly baked delights fill your nostrils as you walk in, igniting your yearning for some baked GOODNESS. You are guaranteed only the freshest ingredients used in your order, something Im very impressed with. Great place to sit down for a late breakfast, hot chocolate is made from scratch and coffee beans are freshly roasted. On my last visit I ordered the Avo Smash on rye with a soft poached egg for good measure and it was amazing (Ive attached a photo for your viewing pleasure). Theres something for everyone at Jason Bakery. Whether you chasing something sweet or something savory. The service is prompt and professional and every order arrives at your table at exactly the same time, every time. I look forward to many more visits and plan on trying everything on offer.

The place really makes amazing butter croissants!!!! not too flaky on the outside and perfectly made on the inside.😂😂 Also stay away from the small cookie croissant that come with the coffee, they are very addictive 😂 the balance of sugar and cinnamon is just right even for people who dont have a sweet tooth. The service was also very friendly.

Alex recommended we meet at this spot called Jason Bakery. Never been but have passed there manier times during running sessions along the promenade. They are a let friendly space, a few happy dogs mingling about and enjoying the vibes. The breakfast - Especially the “dirty eggs “ on the menu are to die for.The kneaded baked dough - amazing artistry. They have one of the best cronut ever. Thanks Alex for recommending this gem

Jason Bakery has a cool and relaxed vibe, which I love. My favourite right now is the bacon and Emmental cheese croissant; and a flat white (of course😊). I was not impressed by the doughnut or cookie of the day but will be back for the buttermilk flapjack stack with thick-cut bacon, sunny side up eggs and maple flavoured syrup.

It was a good first experience. I had scrambled egg on toast with a side of sauteed mushrooms. The standard meal was decent, but the side mushrooms were too acidic to enjoy. The assortment of baked goods was amazing though...definitely the highlight. The had me at Bacon Croissants!

Was highly recommended by my son who is a chef. Went on Sat Morning,at 11.30.Very friendly waitress took our coffee orders and returned for food order. Hubby order the smashed avo, I ordered the veggies stack toastie. She was back within minutes, very apologetic, no veggies stack toastie, sold out, would I also like the avo toast? I then ordered the Reuben croissant. Back within minutes, guess what, also sold out!!!. 11.30 on a Saturday morning!!!!! I asked for the manager, who looked at me blankly and said Sorry, weve been busy. Very very poor, means your manager doesnt care and your chefs didnt do their prep for the weekend properly. Wont be back.

Great venue. Excellent covid protocol. The food was absolutely amazing. Ordered the mushroom toast and toasted cheese and tomato croissant as well as the brioche donut and pasta de nata. The mushroom toast is an absolute hit with its delicate combination of flavors that will have you wanting for more. Brioche donut is very well flavoure. Just a pity the cronuts/doughssants are only available on a Saturday. Will have to give them a try next time.

Once again perfection from Jasons, had the pistachio cream cheese croissant. Was absolutely perfect and not sweet at all. Also had virtually all their doughnuts, always amazing and surprisingly not that sweet, pairs perfect with any coffee. A Cape Town institution every local or tourist should experience and also make sure you buy one of their sourdough loaves once, you won’t go back to normal bread after that, get your meats and cheese from Giovannis close by!!! Keep it up guys!!

I ordered their Croissant loaded with a poached egg and bacon blanketed in elemental cheese. It was really good...minus the chorizo that I ordered on the side. I have yet to have good Chorizo in Cape Town. That aside, the star of my sit-in was the Hot Chocolate! It was thicc, slightly bitter and delicious! Everything it should be. The marshmallow cube was an ingenious touch to give sweetness to it.I highly recommend the Hot Chocolate, everytime you visit. Best in Cape Town for me, yet.Visit me on @foodwithroh (IG)#breakfast #croissant #CapeTown #foodie#foodaddict #foodblogger #foodadventures #foodaholic #hotchocolate #hotchoc #foodadventures #capetownsouthafrica #capetownrestaurants #chocolate #jasonsbakery

Bustling bakery on the main toad of Green Point. Packed to capacity one would expect slow service and a while for food to be served from the kitchen. Not with this establishment. The place gives off the air that it is extremely well run because it is. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was delightful, we had the avocado toast, customizer fried eggs and of course had to try the baked goods too which was divine.I would always pay good money for a great meal, but for some patrons this may be a slightly overpriced experience for what you get.

Some of the best bread you can buy in Cape Town! Great selection of breads, and some really interesting sandwich options/combinations. Service is extremely friendly behind the counter as well (I stopped to take a peek at the menu as I was walking buy and was convinced to come in by a VERY enthusiastic employee jumping and waving for me to come in)! Also lots of plugs in case you want to do some remote working. Only thing to note is sandwiches do take a while (due to their gourmet nature) - so if youre in a mad rush and want one to run be aware! Had to sprint to my next work meeting!

On quick trip to cape town for work I managed to go get breakfast at Jasons. But as luck would have it, it was under load shedding too so we couldnt get coffee or toasties. We ordered the Egg Slutt, which is a Croissant with Scrambled Eggs, Carmelized Onions, Colby Cheddar Cheese, Sriracha Mayo and Chives. Unfortunately think mine was missing the Mayo and Chives as it was bland and I asked for crispy bacon as an extra. Everything needs Bacon. To drink I took the Theonista Ginger beer, didnt realise it also had Rooibos in it but it was rather refreshing, and thereafter I tried the Grapefizz which was ok.As for something sweet we took the Carrot Cake Truffle and the Tiramisu brioche bun. Carrot cake was good, but just a bit sweet with the white chocolate. As we were about to leave the lights came back on, so we stayed for a Cappuccino before heading out.Its a busy spot, with a limited menu in terms of food. But if you are a sweet tooth and like to experiment with new bold flavors in doughnuts or biscuits or tarts then this is your spot to check out.#TheFoodMusketeer#TheFoodMusketeerEats#TheFoodMusketeerDrinks#TFMJasonBakery

Right on Main Road in Greenpoint, making it easy to find, this small bakery which provides some great breakfast options. The atmosphere is very typically Cape Town, nice and vibey, great for friends who just meeting for coffee and a pastry.I enjoyed the scrambled eggs and bacon on a croissant, croissant was baked almost to perfection maybe a little over baked for some, but perfect for me. Crispy and flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Also had the Egg and Cheese in a Brioche. The brioche was done very well, nice and slightly sweet with an airy feel so it wasnt too dense. Was a little disappointed by the Masala Chai Latte, it just lacked something.

Review №62

Very bad experience and service...firstly as we were given a table and walking towards it after the person had delegated to the other waiters, the manager decides to chip in and give the table to other customers who were already at a table. After sitting for 10 minutes, I got up and started looking for a waiter to serve us and even just give us a menu..food establishments in Cape Town can’t use the excuse “we’re busy” anymore...as all different places are always busy or full. But eventually when a waiter decided to give us the time of day, literally every single thing we pointed to, whether it was sweet, or pastry, or lunch was unavaible??? Surely provision is made to make sure there is enough stock/food to serve customers without running out by lunch?? The only item available from the menu on the sweet side was the two cheese cake slices,of which one was the Jack Daniels...but after seeing the size and the price you charge..I’d suggest going back to the drawing board, you may not agree, but asking almost 50bucks for a half sized slice of cheese cake is just crazy. As a suggestion, maybe sort out the communication between your manager, what looked to be a floor manager/host, and the waiters...so that the clients don’t feel like idiots when walking to a table.

While this place looks gorgeous and trendy, I was rather disappointed with the food.I had the toasted croissant with bacon, emmenthal and a poached egg. You would think this would be unctuous and satisfying, but it was dry and the toasted croissant tasted stale. My friends shakshuka had a massive whole tomato that the chef didnt bother to break down, and the dish was served at a far too hot temperature. To top off the sad food, service was rather miserable. It took an hour from the time we sat down to the time we got our food.Id recommend elsewhere if youre in the vicinity.

If you haven’t tried the doughsant (a croissant doughnut with a different flavour each week) you should definitely give it a try at least once.Beyond this it’s become increasingly difficult to justify coming back here. The menu (while often innovative, eg peppermint crisp French toast) is never what it seems with overpriced items coming in average portions often dry or just what you get at a similar breakfast place for half the price. It’s also loud, there are long queues and it’s very expensive.
