My partner surprised me with baguettes this morning. It was like I was back in Paris 😻 perfection

When sourdough starts to look like airbread with holes the size of small eggs, then you know you are being ripped off. When this continually starts happening and all you get form the bakery is we don’t care attitude then you know greed has set in. And no your bread before the fire never had holes in and was least 20% bigger just Incase that is your argument. Won’t be buying bread for my guest house from you no more!

Best artisan bread in Cape Town. Far more convenient buying at one of the cities markets. It’s a working bakery, if u in the area and can find parking it would be sacrilege not to buy a loaf. They don’t do coffee, breakfast etc but can sell u one of there very special breads or pastries if stock allows. I

Due to construction on the building, it is a struggle to get to the shop. At 08:00 they had sour dough bread, croissants and one type of muffin. Not worth the drive to Woodstock.

Great sourdough bread. I love popping by on a Saturday morning to see what they still have in stock (its a bit difficult to find, but you can access from the gate and the entrance is by the ramp in the far back).

No sure if I went to the right place, but you can get this quality at any grocery store.

For near a perfect croissant and baguette tradition in South Africa this is the place. Staff is amazing. Note that they except orders but will try help walk ins but I recommend you order beforehand. Their cut off time is 10h00 for orders for the next day. It’s also not the easiest place to find so ask someone who’s been there for directions or call beforehand.

The products have really deteriorated over the last few months. Must be under new ownership. The current owner is extremely rude and seems to throw a tantrum when things dont go his way. We used to look forward to buying Woodstocks products at the Oranjezicht market but the standard has really dropped dramatically.

Cant get enough of their olive ciabatta loaf and olive ciabatta sticks.

Loved this bakery’s goods but they hardly seem to be open and often don’t sell to the public and last time we went they were closed, maybe for good
