The food was absolutely delicious. It was my first time there and we had breakfast. It was not too busy when we got there but filled up quickly and got really busy as the food is delicious and the setting is gorgeous. I am definitely taking my mom there soon as I think she would love it.

Very beautiful setting hidden amongst tall trees. The bird life was incredible with a huge variety of bird coming very close. The baked cheesecake was rich and tasty with a side of ice cream. I recommend checking it out.

Lovely outdoor setting with fresh delicious food, gluten-free and vegan options, and very friendly staff. You can request for your burger to be made bun-free or if you are vegan, enjoy a vegan burger made with delicious grains. You can also get a bagel, some curry, chicken pie... all freshly made. It can get busy so book a table ahead!

What an amazing experience I had at this place about 2 weeks ago. We first took a detour in the garden and captured these beautiful pics (one included). With their omelets I was so glad they had the vegetarian omelet for my partner. Nice variety of cakes as well (theres more inside than on the menu 😉😋) Amazing staff! 🥺😍😍

A great little brunch spot found in the heart of leafy Newlands. Sit outside under the trees and enjoy a home style breakfast. The baked goods on display looked amazing and the service was great. Dont forget to take a stroll through the quaint nursery just adjacent for some more greenery

Lovely setting and amazing food which is why I wanted to go there. I arrived 8:40 to be stopped by staff who advised I would have to be gone by 10:00. I said would not be there long just me but he again wanted my assurance that I would be gone by 10:00. I was looking perfectly respectable similarly attired to the few other patrons. However I left despite all the empty tables because I could feel that I was unwelcome. I was only coming for coffee and perhaps a muffin. Probably the usual story that staff want guests to stay at least 90 min otherwise the custom is not worth their while.

A little piece of paradise! Super friendly staff, beautiful setting, and the best scones! The eggs benedict is also heavenly! I’ve been countless times and I’ve only ever had a wonderful experience.

What a gem of a place. Had the most scrumptious breakfast, definitely one of the best breakfasts Ive had in Cape Town. Vegetarian friendly, great service and beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend. Also very reasonable prices!

First off, let me tell you one thing about this place: Their Eggs Benedict are out of this world.Otherwise: friendly and choppy service, great atmosphere, reasonably priced, tasty pastries and coffee. You cant go wrong.NB: If you wanna go there for breakfast on the weekend, Id advise you to make a reservation. (if that isnt the best compliment to give to a gastronomy business... teehee)

The place Ive been going during lockdown to get my weekly treat and they are so worth it. Any of their baked goods are amazing and you will not be disappointed with anything you choose.Its also nice to get some real coffee out of the house.Thank you for keeping me sane.

This restaurant is true to its name as you feel like you are dining at a cottage in a big garden. There is an inside seating area (but it can get a bit cramped) as well as a outside area where you can relax under the beautiful trees. We visited them for breakfast and decided to sit outside as it was so beautiful, and although it was a bit chilly they did have blankets to keep us warm. The coffee and food was very tasty and beautifully presented, and our waiters were courteous and friendly. On the property there are other businesses as well including a curio shop and nursery where you can browse before or after going to the restaurant. They would also be a good choice during summer as the trees will provide shade to keep you nice and cool.

The atmosphere, the music, the vibe is all so great with that the food and the service is amazing. Who doesnt love getting a complimentary bread basket while you wait for your food. You will leave this place not only with a full satisfied stomach but a happy face and heart. The outdoor seating seems part of a fantasy book with trees surrounding you while you dine. The nursery is also well kept with a lot of variety available. If you are a vegetarian dont hesitate to give this place a chance, their vegetarian dishes are amazing.

This place is divine. I cant fully express how happy I am about the food. Try their beef burger - it beats many burger places. Of course the outside sitting just makes it a beautiful experience. Did I mention their great coffee?

A lovely Mothers day lunch with pr family. Beautiful setting among lush gardens. Three guests had the croissant, cheese and preserve. We received grated cheddar and catering packs of jam..... not our idea of preserve maybe should read...cheese and jams. We were offered a new jar of marmalade preserve when we brought it to their attention, which did help.

So have eaten here before, food is above average quality and preparation is also so. Typical Cape Town Southern Suburbs restaurant for the casual chic vibe. What made todays experience extraordinary, was our waitron Janine, she delivered exceptional service and added that comfort and class that made us feel spoilt rotten. Thank you Janine.

Lovely selection of yummy cakes and extensive breakfast and lunch menu available. Good idea to reserve your table to avoid disappointment as it is a popular restaurant. Plenty of off-street parking. Service is very friendly but sometimes not the fastest, especially when busy.

Intimate with lovely setting, great food and good coffee. Quaint little coffee shop which offers very fresh food, salads and home bakes. Staff professional and friendly. Also lovely to wonder into the little stores, to explore the eco village if one has time. Ordered the spinach, pepper quiche; salad bowl and chocolate brownie. All delicious!

The Gardeners Cottage Restaurant is a great spot for lunch. They serve breakfast too, have coffee and cakes. Theres plenty of outdoor seating and I would recommend phoning ahead to make a lunch reservation. The food is always delicious.

Great place for breakfast. Reservations seem to be the norm here so you may want to call ahead to be guaranteed a table or risk being turned away on busy days. That said, we were seated without a reservation without a problem after promising to be quick.

Have not been here in a while due to the quality of food served. Decided to give it another go and was not disappointed. Ordered roast veg tartine with 2 poached eggs on sourdough. Absolutely delicious. Cappuccino was very good and a huge improvement from the strong and bitter coffee i had last time. Good value too. Would have loved to try their cakes as they looked delicious (and some healthy too) but was stuffed from brekkie. Chose a beautiful sunny day so was absolutely serene and relaxing to sit outside in the tree lined setting. Would definitely go back and have made a reservation for Sunday. This place is very popular so booking is advised.

One of the most tranquil spots in Cape Town that I wanna whisper about as I wish it could remain a secret to those who already frequent. Lush gardens in the fabulous Montebello Design Centre with great food and deli products, a wonderful atmosphere even when its quiet and friendly, personalized service from management and serving staff. A treasured little gem.

Good food and good value! We enjoyed a casual Sunday lunch for 7 and the food & service was excellent! Even though it was busy, our meals were delivered timeously and beautifully set out and were delicious.We shared 4 dessert cakes- I would go back just for afternoon tea and cake!!The symmetry cordial with sparkling water was cute, in a small flask on a little tray! :-)And the red cappuccino was so tasty, especially with some added honey.

Great cappuccinos and very tasty salmon bagels. On a public holiday this place will be packed so come prepared, but there is also more than sufficient seating for everyone.The staff are very friendly and great at handling the large number of people.The price may be the only complaint. It is a fairly over priced place sadly.

Great place to enjoy a bite to eat while soaking up nature. Food is always on point and prices are fair. Children have a small play area with play things carved from old trees. When you are done dont just leave. Go explore the artisan shops, peaceful walk on the wooden walkway.

Pleasant lunch experience. Just a few funny policies noted. An adult in.our group asked for a kiddies meal as he is recovering from illness with little appetite. He was told he was not allowed to order a kids meal. The waiter was happier that he rather drink a coffee and order no food. Then another friend ordered an omelette at lunchtime. It was served with fresh bread. It looked delicious but he asked if it could be toasted as per his preference, he was told we dont toast bread at lunchtime. But then I received a toasted open sandwich. Quite comical! Some very contradictory regulations happening here.Delicious chicken mayo sandwich though.

This well eatablished restaurant has been a neighborhood favourite for many years. Set in a lovely garden in Montebello. You would be wise to reserve a table during peak times. The restaurant has a good variety of freshly prepared food and sells a lovely selection of tasty goodies for home. Breakfast and lunch and afternoon tea is served here. Wheelchair demarcated parking is available but it must be noted that the ground is uneven and stony, which may be a challenge for some. Only outdoor seating would be available for wheelchairs.

My all times favourite surroundings and restaurant. Totally in a class of its own, it is very well run with the help of well trained staff members.

Had a pleasant here, staff was very friendly and the vibe was great. Unfortunately the main event (the breakfast) was sub par, everything was burnt. Dry boerewors, burnt mushrooms, burnt tomatoes, burnt bacon. Poached eggs were very well done.
