Nobu lives up to its hype! The ambience. The service. The food. One word describes the experience : SPLENDID! This is fine dining that is worth every penny. Loved every moment.

We booked for the canapes but couldn’t resist the dessert. Siba was an amazing host. In fact, all the staff were so pleasant and friendly.The food of course was fantastic enjoyed in such a fantastic setting.Well done to the Nobu team and look forward to visiting when we’re in Cape Town again.The pandemic protocols were observed ensuring a safe environment to dine.

The food used to be better. The lobster flavours were very unbalanced and overwhelming this time around. Passion fruit creme brûlée was underwhelming. Miso salad and new style sashimi are still great. Highly recommend the rock shrimp 🍤

Wooooow🤩 Did not eat one thing that was not delicious. Our waiter was so so friendly and helpful. We sat outside and it was stunning. Would 10/10 recommend the chocolate dessert.

Amazing food and great service. The menu has many options from hot dishes, some vegan options and great cold dishes like sashimi and sushi. Everything about the restaurant was perfect, we were treated so well considering how we didn’t order that many items. Definitely a must if you want to impress your date in Cape Town!

We were so excited to visit Nobu coming from the US where this restaurant certainly has a reputation in New York City. Well I don’t feel like it lives up to the New York City location, we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We ordered a few tuna tacos, six different sushi plates and dessert!It is located inside the one and only hotel which is beautiful to see!

The staff are really friendly here. The service is incredible and the atmosphere is relaxing. Highly recommend.

Nobu used to be my favorite restaurant. Especially the one in Cape Town. Unfortunately it is just not the same high quality. The service and response is slow ( not our direct waiter) and the appearance of the restaurant is poor as there are stains on the floor, seats and such. The only thing saving them is that the food, which was great ! If you are in Cape Town save your money and not far from this place you will get incredible sea food.

Nobu is one of my favourite restaurants in South Africa. It is expensive so I sadly dont go often. However every evening in their hands is a culinary treat. The sashimi is sublime and their salads the best you can ever have. If its your first time go for the tasting option. During Covid Ive enjoyed their take always immensely. Something special.PLEASE GO!!! But be warned, the experience is addictive, and can become an expensive habit.

Exceptional food and great service.The ceviché was beautiful, fresh and acidic. Serving it in a top heavy martini glass makes it difficult to eat with a spoon. A bowl would be more practical and attractive.The langostine salad was the highlight. The cheff agreed to prepare an off the menu dish. Perfectly grilled with a smokey sweet soy and sesame sauce that would have me eat the rocket alone as a main.The tuna sashimi had a complex, yet light soy sauce with hints of citrus.The tempura calamari was light and slightly spicy, with a lingering kick.The delicate lobster portions were served on a bed of vegetables. The sauce resembled a rich and creamy bisque, BUT way way too salty!All in, exceptional food at prices that punch approx 10 - 15% above its weight.I would add a 5th star if the clinical 90s style dark stained tables get some form of window dressing and a deep clean.

An excellent dining experience, from the sunset canapés to the sushi selection and more. The scallops were a definite highlight, but its impossible to pick just one standout dish.Fantastic service from everyone, and in particular, our waiter Leo.

I wouldn’t even give this restaurant any stars. It is simply awful starting with the highly-priced food to the extremely little food. Please do not waste your money on this place.So we looked at the menu and saw the prices and for the prices we expected that the food would be exceptional and portions would be large but it was horrible.The sushi wasn’t even tasty. I mean they charge R50 extra just to cut the sushi. To slice 6 pieces of sushi i had to pay extra.We ordered the seabass for R700 which firstly is highly priced for a South African fine dining restaurant. The seabass was stale and wasn’t even plated beautifully. It was not even accompanied with sides. It wasn’t even a big piece of fish.The broccoli was steamed and just given to me with a sauce for a high price.I canceled one of the plates but the waiter still brought it to my table.I ate one bite of my handroll sushi and I looked down and my handroll sushi was finished.I dunno if this is a restaurant or they are in the stealing business with high prices and empty plates.I paid R2200 and we were not even filled after eating . We had to order food at our hotel. Never get ripped off at this restaurant. I complained to the manager and they only said sorry but an apology isn’t good enough for money i spent. We hardly ordered any food. And paid a super high price.

A phenomenal experience. Staff seemed well trained and professional. All the food was tasty and perfectly prepared. I had a serving of pork belly that was too dry but it was replaced with a smile and perfect the second time round. The dessert was by far my favorite. I had 3 different desserts and will definitely be leaving more space for more in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience Nobu!

Terrible experience!!Will never recommend this to anyone EVER!The place is so overpriced and the food is not even tasty. The food is horrible and we cancelled one order and the waiter still brought it and we had to pay for it.A bottle of water is even overpriced-R100 for one bottle. I wish I would get my money back. I am so sad and this ruined my mood completely.

Nobu restaurant was a total disappointment. Food was poor, service was mediocre and actually I have had better experiences in all you can eat sushi places. The location of the restaurant is special. Unfortunately, that is the only thing that is special. You actually managed to make oysters taste bad. That is nearly impossible. Besides the poor quality of food, we were poorly advised on the quantity of the food, although we asked several times. We ended up with getting 5 dishes served in 15 minutes. Which gave it a fastfood vibe, not star quality sushi. There are really good restaurants in Cape Town. Also really good sushi restaurants. Just avoid Nobu.

Our favourite near the Marina apartments. A unique experience with fresh fish and unique flavour combinations. Pricey but it is the One&Only. 😏 Best choices Sushi House cit roll; avocado tempura; rock shrimp.

Last ate on 7 March 2019:Nobu is pricey, but the food is incredible. The spinach salad (with or without lobster) is a must. It’s almost impossible to go wrong with anything on the menu. My only complaint is the mark-up on the wine. Far above the 100pct mark-up you expect in most restaurants. Probably the best sushi restaurant in Cape Town, but it has so much more to offer than just sushi.

A pleasant evening Spoilt by bad food. It ended with both my husband and son suffering severe diarrhea. When one goes to a 5 star establishment one does not expect this!

Compared to other Nobu restaurants around the world, our evening in Nobu Cape Town was very disappointing. Very uncreative processing of average quality products. Also compared to other restaurants in Cape Town, where you can eat really great, Nobu was really not good.Definitely also completely overpriced.

4.5 feels too low for this magnificent place. Super fresh ingredients, reasonably priced (by international standards). Nice buzz. Packed. I wish the world would stop believing though that piping in Buddha Bar type music somehow adds to an eating experience.

Enjoyed the modern Japanese food and loved the plum wine but found the ambience and acoustics of the restaurant uncomfortable. Sound echoes makes one feel like you are in a station building which has no intimacy.

Nice interior but the prices you pay for everything makes this place not a place where you get value for money. There are loads of other places in the area where you can get better food at better prices and also with a view of the ocean. So I am a bit disappointed and I am walking away here unsatisfied.

Of all the Nobu’s I have visited in various countries, Nobuntu Cape Town is the best. Awesome service and the quality of the menu is always consistent and tasty. I always go to Nobuntu for my lamb chops fix. It’s the best 👍🏽

Some sauces are a bit acid.The waitress is fast and kind but she is not really aware of what is available or not. No green tea and no vanilla ice cream. I had to insist to get the waitress find the green tea ice cream. Rather strange for a Japanese restaurant of this class

The atmosphere can easily be converted to suit any occasion.Situated in One&Only Cape Town (hotel), recognised by Condenast as one of the best hotels in South Africa, you definately want to give Nobu a fat chance. As a massive sushi lover and been fortunate to travel around the world, Nobu is located in a stunning 5 star hotel The One & Only in the Waterfront. The staff were fantastic and atmosphere but Nobu is very over priced and over rated. We don’t mind splurging on meals and having a great time, but Nobu is excessively overpriced!

Disgusting how they plan their meals. 3 out of 6 signature meals where not available. Btw: 3 other meals as well not. Service tried to make up, but was still a waste of precious time to be in this unorganized place. Not the nobu quality you would expect.

Same great standard as the other Nobus. Located in the one & only hotel it surely is a luxurious setting. Def recommend!

If i could give 0 stars I would. The best part about our meal was our wine, exorbetent prices for extremely average food, its disgusting what a rip off this place is, and on top of that I got food poising from the fish & couldnt get off the toilet. Even tourists should have no trouble finding a way better meal for a better price elsewhere, embarrassing.

Overpriced.R100 bottel wine costs R510 at Nobu. Holden manz Rose...You are paying for a culture experience not the food as far as I am concerned.

The Nobu experience is definitely one of the best in Cape Town from the food to service and atmosphere at the restaurant. Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from as well.

I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant the service was good and the place looks gorgeous I thought I was in for a treat but unfortunately the quality of the sushi was very bad you would expect better from a place thats well known. The only good thing I had was their soup I tried miso and my friend tried the spicy seafood the rest of the meal was very bad . one more surprise we had while having our meal was the COCKROACHES!! Walking on the wall behind us and When I told the waiter she flicked it and stepped on it like it was nothing lol .Ill never come back here again it was a terrible experience.

Good service, fresh fish. My complaint, if any, is that overall its a salty menu. It might have to do with the waiter suggestions. Not as good as Nobu HK or Dubai but overall still decent and better priced :)I recommend the tuna tataki with ponzu sauce!

Best Japanese food experience. High standards and excellent service

The food was ok, except we were over charged for 3 dishes which we never received and one of the chicken wings we had was pink inside. The service was also quite slow, not on par with Nobus in other parts of the world.

The food is always stunning, but an inexperienced waiter can compromise your experience. Also, don’t get the Cod, they call it Robert de Niro’s favourite dish but it’s not great. Try the white fish sashimi and the rock shrimp tempura ☺️

The menu online is no longer the current menu for omakase. They now have a 6 course omakase for R1250 and 8 course for R1600. The food was delicious but I was not full by the end. And while delicious, I dont think it was worth the price. Service was excellent though which raises this to a 4 star rather than three. Our server, Tino, and the rest of the servers were very attentive.Other food that we saw coming out of the kitchen looked to be more worth it so if you go here, I would not recommend the omakase.

Nice decoration, the food can be tricky if you dont know the menu, but the staff is there to help you...and you can always bump with an international superstar.

Up to the usual excellent standards and wonderful waiter Tapiwa. However we are missing the passion fruit creme brulee and the Santorini whisky cappacino...Better bring those backs.
