We bought the family platter from Colala for take away today. Ive had a had this many times before and it has always been great. But today it is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much!

The food is still somewhat good and value for money although theyve stopped offering the Entertainer. I must admit though my choices this weekend was not very impressive.

Good food, doesnt rely on pretentious decor. Simple, down to earth.

Food has always tasted good. The restaurant itself doesn’t seem too clean. Floors are dirty, so I stick to takeaways.Prices are more than advertised online so keep that in mind when ordering takeaways. They have redone their website which helps a lot! The bar is a popular spot and the price is very fair.

I am so absolutely disappointed with how Colala has turned into a dodgy bar full of bar fights and loud music. We used to be regulars there, going at least once a week. But since that new barman started working there about a year ago I am afraid the place took a turn for the worst. I am not normally one to complain about such things, but good friends of ours actually mentioned the same thing to us, and that is when I thought I should at least point this out to the owners. Colala used to be such a friendly family atmosphere, with the two Chinese guys always treating us so nicely. That old Chinese guy and the younger one I think his name is Tom. We dont go there at all anymore since that new dodgy crowd started hanging out there with the new barman. Only bar fights and aggression from his side

Best Asian Indian dishes and sushi at very affordable prices

Placed an order over the phone, sushi was more expensive directly through the restaurant than through Mr delivery. When queried this I was told Mr D prices would increase the next day (which I checked and did not happen). When I told them I would then order through Mr Delivery, was told Mr D was offline on their system-convenient! When I collected my food-3 out of the 5 sushi portions were not what I had ordered. The sushi that I was able to eat was more rice than anything else. They did replace the 3 dishes (which they still got the order wrong) but i had to drive there to collect. Their menu is far overpriced for the quality you get!

Good menu options and very reasonable prices. Lovely decor and comfortable seating in the non-smoking area. Very interesting to see the combination of Indian and Chinese in one restaurant, but they seem to have a very good selection of both.We thoroughly enjoyed the sushi! Cant wait to come back to try the rest.

Food was pretty good. The restaurant was a bit full considering covid and we booked ahead of time so it kinda felt like they shouldnt have let so many in (about a 45 people dining area and maybe about 30 ppl inside)The food was okay. Some of it better than others. Their rice is rather soft and the sushi can be difficult to hold onto with the chopsticks. Some of the avo was slightly browned while others nice and green.Their drinks menu is pathetic, only gassy drinks and water. There are no warm drinks available nor any desserts.The waitress was friendly and quick, she popped around enough times for us.There was also another table next to us who were being very loud and basically screaming and I wish the staff asked them to keep it down. It really ruined the whole experience.I give them a 3 mainly for the food but also the lack of proper social distancing, which at this time is just as important as friendliness.

Awesome sushi at this establishment, went on a Sunday afternoon and there was hardly any other occupamts in the restaurant section. Which made the experience intimate. The bar and smoking side was busier which created a relaxed afternoon atmosphere. The sushi was the best Ive had in a while affordable at 79 for a 17 piece. Only drawback it was on Entertainer app but due to covid not using app at present, but food still a bargain

Food was well prepared and came fast. The service was on point and we had no problems using the entertainer app. The only downfall was the air flow wasnt that great. My boyfriend had to get up often to get some air.

Quite disappointing in the level of service we received and in the fact that we didnt even get to experience the food.Received menus for the the same food but different pricing. We were seated, but didnt see the a staff member again until were almost out of the door seeing as we werent helped (almost 30 minutes after being seated).

Service•Friendly staff, well informed and very professional• eventhough they were very full, our ordered arrived relatively quickly.Food• very good pad thai! At R75 per person you will get good, flavourful pad thai with prawn and chicken. Beautifully presented and good worth for your money!• The sweet and sour pork (R68) was also nice, but maybe a slight bit dry. Just be aware that you are required to order rice seperately as it does not come with the main.• Chicken and veggie springrolls were amazing! Big portion, not too oily and very nice!Atmosphere• I have to admit- the decor is not very tasteful at all.• Acoustic is a bit bad in the building, so you have yo speak quite loud to hear each other• The place is not very clean

The food was amazing, you do end up waiting a lil while for it though but definitely worth the wait.

Really good food at a decent price... We had the sushi salmon platter 39 peaces for R270... Just enough for 3 people... Was quite good...service friendly... Could eat at the place or get takaways...focus more on Asian foods... Currys, chinese but also some western food...

This time the service left much to be desired:Waitress after just handing us the drinks menu: what would you like to drink?Us: Can you give us a few minutes please?Waitress: okay! Stands with notepad ready to take orderUs: we just need 5 minutes pleaseWaitress: stands closer ready to write down orderThis type of service continued throughout our time there.I was also disappointed that the tip was added to the bill automatically. We were a table of 4, and it doesnt state anywhere I could easily see that the tip is automatically added. For the service received, I wouldve wanted to determine the tip myself.Then noticed after we had left that the waitress had rounded up the amount I paid by card. So instead of R351.50, the SMS from my bank showed R352. 50c is really not a lot, but its the principle of the matter for me. If she rounds up for each person paying at each table, thats quite a bit extra at the end of the day. Iwont be back.----Colala has an interesting menu of sushi, Chinese, but also Indian food. The spring rolls are well priced and tasty, and there are 6 different options.Then we ordered the sushi. From regular to more western kinds of sushi, youll find something for everyone. They got two of our selections wrong, and while that initially made us rethink going there again, the chef came out of the kitchen to apologise, and they even gave us a portion of the crunch rolls - made correctly this time - as a take away. The service is outstanding.It was a but disappointing that wine was only buy the bottle. There didnt appear to be any other drinks on the menu.What I really didnt appreciate was that both doors to the smoking area were left open. The smoke smell hit us at the entrance. The smoking area is also much nicer looking, with plenty of natural light. The non-smoking area was a bit gloomy. If youre short like me, the tables will be a tad too high lol

Please avoid this place at all means.They dont allow you to use the entertainer app... We paid for a year subscription and they just pull out... Unacceptable.Even worse... They run a two Indian dish special... Also that was suddenly not in anymore... Although everywhere advertised in the restaurant and menus.PLEASE AVOID... Rather support honest local restaurants

One of the most underrared restaurants in blouberg tableview. Best sushi at the best prices. Their curry and Chinese food is also amazing cant go wrong with these guys. Ps also have amazing drink specials

Waitress took 30mins to bring me a drink menu, then forgot half of my food order. She also tried running away with my bank card after hearing the pin and tried inserting it herself. Very bad, only good thing was the taste of the food and the drinks.

Great food. Make sure Charlie is making your sushi as its always fantastic. The Indian menu is very erratic. Sometimes outstanding and other times just ok. But never terrible! Fantastic value and delicious!

We went when the place was quiet, so I cannot speak for busier times, but the experience was lovely. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, soft nature and incredibly helpful. A standard of service one does not receive often anymore. The food was great and portions were definitely a decent amount, we ended up with quite a few leftovers. The meals did not take long to arrive even though it was a mixed batch, ranging from sushi to deep fried duck. The duck specifically was great, tender on the inside and nicely crisped up on the outside. Prices were reasonable, within average expectation range. Nice location.

Never expected the food to be so delicious. Service is good. Portions are big enough to feed 2 people. I think its value for money.

All our food was amazing. Lamb was a little over cooked but the taste of the sauce made up for it. Sushi was delicious and very fresh. Sweet and Sour Prawn was absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend a visit to Colala. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. All in all great service.

Great place, used with entertainer app. Been twice now. Service is good and friendly, sushi is fresh and substantial. Curry is great as well, their most expensive dish is entry level prices elsewhere so its an absolute bargain. Great prices on drinks to, if not eating its drinks prices are some of the cheapest in the area.

Best sushi! Decent size portions. Reasonably priced platters. Indian food also very tasty. Lamb breyani has good size pieces of meat.

The Indian food was amazing. I am going back for that. The best prawns I have had in a very long time. The sushi was good too, but not the best. Service was a bit slow unfortunately. Do not be in a rush if you go there.

We decided to give this restaurant a try based on the reviews.We were not greeted at the door,found our own table then waited for 15 minutes while waitress walked past us numerous times.We got up and left. Manager on duty told us the main restaurant section was not his are a of duty for the evening so not his problem.

Weve eaten from there twice once as take away and once dine-in and both times the food was excellent. The waitress Jenny was so helpful, friendly and professional.

My wife and my two teenagers went to Colala for the first time.. We had the family sushi platter and it was very good value for money. Watching what the other visitors ordered it appears that the hot Chinese and Indian cuisine is just as good at Colala.

The food and service is excellent. But the upholstery and scatter cushions are filthy. To the extent that I felt awkward sitting on the seat with bear legs. Nothing that a quick wipe with Vanish cant fix.

Great food and prices, friendly waiters, but for the second time in 3 visits the kitchen has forgotten / lost our order, with a resulting 1 hour wait for our food. Asked to chat to the kitchen manager to find out how this happened and try prevent it next time, but no-one bothered to speak to me. Give them a try, but be prepared to wait. A while.
