Good day readers.I am writing this review with a grateful heart. I went to de Brasserie this morning with my girlfriend and we had an incredible time. We enjoyed fresh oysters and I had an impeccable steak tartare. We also enjoyed a mussel pot. The service was incredible and I was pleasantly surprised by the personality of our waiter, Walter. We will definitely recommend this place and we will most certainly return very soon.Thanks guys.

Driving around on a Sunday evening over a long weekend - hoping to find an open restaurant and stumbling onto De Brasserie. Warm atmosphere, friendly and professional staff. Lovely food - a shame my medium steak was a bit on the well done side - but overall a wonderful fine dining experience. I wont take the kids...

Great view of the sea, right on the main beach. Very tight run restaurant. Moderate budget place - but well worth it. Friendly & very professional staff.

Friendly service and staff. Food was top quality and the views over the ocean add to the ambiance! These pictures looks like this due to a fire... Very popular for sunset so book if you want a preferred seating.

Excessive prices for frozen food with no taste. The team is great but , come on you go to a restaurant to enjoy good food . No effort made in the kitchen . The view is nice , the waiters are friendly but the cooking part need a huge improvement. Will never go to this place again . Highly inadvisable

Popped in for a Sunday coffee and treat. Really decadent and yummy puddings served by a delightful, efficient waiter. Will definitely go back again and again.

Was disappointed when they didnt have our salmon starter in stock, but otherwise it was a good experience, nice food. Great coffee.

The restaurant is well placed, great views, and the staff are very friendly, efficient and professional.I was not blown away by the food however, not what I expected, sauce of beef stew wiithout vegetables??) was tasty, but feel that the dish I had was not value for money.

Stopped over in the morning for coffee and cake. Se of the best cake we have had. Was still warm from baking and not too sweet so hit the spot!

Im a South African living in Belgium and I recommend De Brasserie to all Belgian visitors as a must visit. Absolutely one restaurant we always visit when in Cape Town! Great service, ambiance ,food and such a mice view of the Strand beach. Well done to Walter who gave us excellent service.

Great first visit ...and food and view was good, we ordered a variety of staters plus coffee and dessert, waiters seemed a bit rushed/disengaged somewhat with a few trainees, our waiter did not check on us once, we had to call on other waiters that were walking pass. The manageress was very welcoming and professional.

Beautiful setting but a bit too fancy for my liking. Also a pity their toilets were actually dirty at the time of my visit which is surprising for such an upmarket restaurant. Still enjoyable experience though

I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant. They have delicious wine and good food. I had sushi which was good but I have had better sushi at other restaurants. I do like the variety of meals offered on the menu. I enjoyed the good quality wine on offer. The venue itself has really nice decor and is structured and arranged in an interesting way. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Another great aspect of this restaurant is the great service.

Good service, beautiful restaurant setup and view, prices a bit steep but the taste and quality of the food makes up for it. A kids meal option or 2 would make this a 5star for me.

The sirloin had sinew. It was tough and totally overdone. I ordered mine medium. The service was excellent and the Brasserie Chardonnay lovely.

Food was absolutely delicious, view is so relaxing, waiters are on point! Was an enjoyable lunch experience!

This place really needs no introduction, but to those of you who havent been there yet, its a must visit restaurant...To this day I still think about how amazing their food is...With a great view of the sunset over the sea and a wonderful menu, this is definitely the place to make some memories...

Nice setting and the interior inside is amazing!Waiter got a few things wrong from the start and we waited quite some time for drinks and our food, not much variety but I assume its all specialized.I had the rump, quite a small portion but tatsed great.

It was a great experience! We had lattes and cuppaccinos, along with a cheese board to share, all accompanied by great service by Walter, an amazing waiter!

Our waiters name was Walter, he was so good and pleasant that we tipped him almost 50% of our bill! He made the entire experience amazing and would go back again if all the waiters serve us with such enthusiasm. The food was also really good and prices very reasonable

Noce location on the Strand. Birthday celebration, was hoping for a nice warm and clear sunset on the deck before dinner but the weather did not play along. Some confusion around which table was reserved by us but at the end of the day, we all enjoyed our food and had a good time. Food quality was good.

Place is located just across the beach and with just perfect view. Staff really friendly and will give you good suggestions for meal and drinks. Food was delicious, coffee nice and smooth. Carrot cake...omw....hard to describe. Highly recommended. Covid-19 procedures in place.

Went there twice, hoping the second time would be a better experience. Food very bland. Safest thing to order is probably the Sushi.

A bit too expensive. The drinks were average tasting. They should reduce their menu a bit. It looks like a steak house but they mainly serve seafood. It doesnt feel like they have harmonised their concept.

This is a great restaurant. The wife and I celebrated our 37th anniversary there today. We had a very nice waiter in attendance.Had a calamari starter to share. The portion was biggish and we could both enjoy.For the main dish my wife had a steak and from the looks of it she enjoyed it. She never finishes a steak and here she did.I did something adventurous and had the rabbit. My first time.(Was I trying to be Andrew Zimmern)😀What can I say? Was very nice. Different but very enjoyable. Dont want to sound like everyone else when they try to explain something different and dont know how but Im just going to say it: Tastes a bit like chicken.😀The sauce was a bit salty but not overwhelmingly so.Try the Lace red blend wine. You will not be disappointed.Not a great fan of taking photos in an establishment as I feel like an idiot so my photos could be a bit disappointing.

A beautifully appointed restaurant that serves gorgeous food and selection of drinks. Staff are trained, happy and helpful. Outside seating adds an extra dimension. I love this place and go there each time Im in the area.I didnt give 5 stars because the ladies toilets didnt have soap. The paper towel roll was finished and the electric dryer was not working. There was a white hand towel available but was damp and in the current covid conditions, I didnt fancy using it.I guess I ought to have mentioned it to the waitron staff - sorry!Ill always go back!

De Brasserie is a fantastic restaurant.The staff is very professional and nice.The food and the setting is great.Today I drove 25 minutes to eat there, and 25 minutes back, and it was worth it 🙂

Had the cheese croquettes as a starter.. very delicious.. and salmon sashimi...and chardonnay...The service was 5 star..and the ambience even better...quality..quantity is excellent..perfect for date nights...smart enough..yet comfortable and relaxed enough..Perfect combination.Best of both!!

Very nice restaurant. A bit expensive, but worth the visit. It is advised to make reservations when eating out here. We just had coffee. Lovely service and very friendly staff.

Very nice and upmarket venue. Enjoyed the fillit steak and the dressets. The hospitality and overall waiter service was very good. What we did not like was the prices of the Almenkerk wine, since we were not allowed to bring our own wine and pay for corkage we think that the wine on offer should be a lot more affordable since the restaurant is owned by the wine farm and family business. Though the overall experience was very good we did feel that we were taken advantage of having to pay European prices for a local wine.

Great view of the ocean at Strand. Good food and good beer selection. Would get a 5* if they didnt offer unsustainable fish on their menu.

They had hidden costs that we didnt know about , so we had to pay more than what we expected. Loved the steak but yhuu ha.a Sana the vegetables and sauces were disappointing.

Service excellent, food delicious and a wide variety,, restrooms very clean and modern.Guest who sat on the front oatio were immediately given a blanket to take the chill off.

The view of the Atlantic is amazing, the food is amazing and the sunsets there phenomenal

Unfortunately poor service, the food was totally cold and the owner was too schnup to even offer a coffee on the house. Fortunately we have many great restaurants to enjoy in the Helderberg. Will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.

I was most disappointed with th waiter & his service besides the fresh salad that had some vrot lettuce leaves between its 2 slices cucumbers & 2 slices tomatoes disguised under some sweet dressing i wasnt informed about which i asked the waiter about at the time i ordered. The waiter definitely wasnt happy that i sent it back! I just feel for such a fancy and pricy establishment, i was not impressed.

Five stars for venue and service but unfortunately Asian salad was horrid. Dry, hard pieces of meat, 5 cashew nuts, mostly lettuce. Tasty sauce. Very disappointing.
