I wanted to give 5 stars.For young kids and a family, this is great place to go. The kids have so much fun on the outdoor or indoor playground. Food is always excellent.No 5 stars because seating outside is unpleasant, if you move your chair you bump the person behind you, nor are there covid regulations in place for outside seating. Unfortunately the last two times I was there I had to ask to get a waiter each time and then once you have a waiter the service has been something be quite concerned about.Based on some of the negative points here, I will only be back for the kids.

Table dirty. Makes you wonder are the tables sanitized between seatings, my guess - not in my case. Waited quite a while for anyone to take order. Was on the point of leaving to seek another place to eat when I were assisted.

Its been years since I visited a Spur. Popped in at Burning Spear for a breakfast and playtime with my grand daughter.Very pleasant experience. Friendly staff. Great coffee. Hot milk is hot. Eggs done perfectly. Good toast.

As a child, Ive always loved Spur. A shame to see how much its gone downhill over the years.This branch, I must admit, is beter than most but is still mediocre at best and disappointing at worst.First issue, the prices. Charging over a R120 for a burger that has a slice of cheese on it, is unacceptable. Especially given the quality of the product served. Its clear that Spur does not use artisan ingredients or fresh patties that might justify a high price. Its overpriced for the sake of being overpriced.Whether it was due to waste, there has been a clear decrease to portion sizes at Spur that could also have justified its higher price range. No longer do you receive mountains of chips and onion rings, but a small handful expected from their competitors.Second issue, DO NOT ORDER THE NACHOS.Spur uses Doritos chips and topics that were less than desirable (very sour) and charge a fortune for it. The chicken was bouncy and the chips were soggy before reaching our table.Thirdly, I feel greater quality must be implemented with regards to the cutlery. Its not uncommon to find (glasses especially) to not as clean as should be expected.The staff was very friendly at this branch and I must admit that the food didnt take to long, but this is not usually the case. I think this is thanks to the 2 other occupied tables at the branch at the time.Note, theres a fantastic play area here for children, hence my 3-star rating.Will unfortunately be enjoying alternative restaurants while Spur gets their act together.

Great welcome by Palesa at the door by the way she is a chico..been sitted down by a waitron we dont know his name,he never introduced himself..We bought kiddies birthday combo he didnt know that the is a cheese burger with the combo..(product Knowledge).He bought food we eated and enjoyed compliment to the chef😍..But our waitron never asked if we enjoyed the meal but we did..Since we got in the shop no manager came to our table..But i give 5 to Palesa and 5 to grill guys and 5 to tex mex ..

Came there for a take away. Got great service, friendly staff. Would have liked more sauce satches in my take away bag. 😁

I love it.... My baby shower was hosted there..... And the service was awesome.... The food was DELICIOUS... Obviously i gobbled everything down.... I had a gr8 time there..... MOST OF ALL THE RESTROOM WAS SUPER CLEAN!!! I LOVE THAT SPUR.... JUST POP IN N SEE FOR URSELF!!

This is the first time in 5 years that I eat at a Spur restaurant and I must say this is the first time that I have enjoyed every bite of my meal. Everything was perfect. My snitchel was cooked to perfection, my french fries were hot and tasty and the milk shake was heavenly. Thank you. It was a delicious meal for a hungry person traveling very far.

Couldnt believe this Spur have gone so bad. The at door manager saved our day, was utterly professional fast and friendly after we were about to get up and have our meal elsewhere. She was a total star! One of the managers was even aggressive and totally defensive when we complained about waiting 40 minutes for a cup of coffee. Never mind the food we still wanted to order. That came another 100 minutes late. The waiter handed us the hot plates into our bare hands in the middle of Covid and asked us to pass the plates to the appropriate person whose food it was. Manager, stop getting aggressive and start teaching your waiters how to wait tables. Get a handle on your kitchen. Jeez the place wasnt even half full on a Sunday morning and you couldnt cope with 10 basic breakfasts. Ask your door manager to teach you kindness, how to be professional and how to get people their food.

Daily prepared, fresh food😉. For kids as young as 2 years, the playing area is safe👍.While you eat in the inside your kids are been looked after carefully😎. Burning Spear Spur Steak Ranches is also good for kiddies Parties.

We had an absolutely STELLAR dining experience at the Burning Spear... We were welcomed generously at the door by our waiter, Lebone and seated. His service was exemplary and the meal outstanding, fresh chicken bacon and avo salad, (the best Ive had at any Spur, and dare I say, rivaled any salad Ive had anywhere, and Im a foodie of note!) my husband had ribs and a side of the CBS salad... Lebone was attentive, but not overly so, nor intrusive. Great value overall and we enjoyed really super eveningafter a long day on the road from Durban. We also enjoyed great accommodation at Oakwood Lodge and look forward to enjoying both venues when we return later this year!

It was great to be at that place after long time not visiting restaurants because of Covid and for I wasnt sure whether to go there or not as Im still afraid of going to such places.

Mathulo was a very good waitress , she checked up on us if we are good and she was very nice.

A good plus to take your children to but you wait long for food.

Vuyiswa is a very nice waither we love her and will come again .

The music, every time we visit is absolutely fantastic, without exception I would want the play list. Service is always good, though can be slow when they are really busy which is understandable , the food is always up to standard. Best Spur I have been to in a long time

Speed of food prep gets slower every time. Even a milkshake takes nearly 30mins despite only 8 customers around. Food quality also really not fresh. Been there a couple of times recently to be fair but the above keep on deteriorating.

Excellent play area. Only thing good about this Spur. Being done for every time wanting to use birthday vouchers. Every waiter and manager have a different story. Its like no one is actually trained! Will enjoy another, more competent Spur next time.

If you have kids you have to visit this spur.I have not seen such an entertainment area. They have placed tables in the playground;so your little ones can find you easily, while you can keep an eye on them from the comfort and conversation at your table.They issue each child with a device to activate an alarm if they leave the restaurant and the staff was truly the best Ive seen.I unfortunately dont live in Bloem, but this will be the pit stop whenever we pass through.

I mean who eats a burger with spinach? 🙊Wow.... Im so disappointed... Yooo spur...... De spur in question was at mimosa mall (alabama) NOT burning spear. My apologies for getting de names wrong.

The food is Spur, its consistent and if youre regulars like us, youll order the usual, what made it exceptional was the big outside play area and the smaller inside area. I was also very impressed with the child minder who immediately came to identify the kids and fit them with a tracking device of sorts. The child minders were attentive and very quick to react when there was playground chaos. I loved that we could sit in the play area to eat and keep a very watchful eye on the kids. Id definitely return but not during very busy times because Im sure then the experience may be very different

Terrible service. The food took over an hour to arrive and we never saw our waitress to place a second drinks order or to clear the table. We will NEVER be back. Had to take part of our meal as a takeaway. It was a breakfast and no toast or utensils were included.

This particular spur is having a wonderful service and a good atmosphere, youll have to be patient for your service and when it comes dont let it overwhelm you... Good people

Eating out at Spur restaurants have become expensive for the average person on the street, with no big specials like they use to have. Food quality was good and staff was excellently trained.

Poor service had to wait for 30 min for a mere mocktail ,another 30 min for meal .when I was done eating I had to wait again to get a bill .service is deteriorating compared to the last time I was here .
