It was a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, the service was good, and I had one of the best breakfasts ever! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Always interesting to go and eat there as the decor and garden fascinates you. The food is excellent. The staff are warm but professional.

Quite a nice cafe, with affordable food and a variety of cakes and tarts. Hostess was extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful little decorations and we loved the house and home feeling it gives you. You can sit in the garden too. A few parking spots if you drive in.

A very bad experience at this place! If your cats are part of your place and lying on your tables where customers are supposed to sit and are dangerous please remove the cat especially if its a kids friendly place! My 11 year old son loves cats and immediately wanted to sit at the table where the cat was lying, the cat was friendly in the beginning and we treated it so nicely and kindly, when suddenly the cat fiercely jumped up and scratched my son on his forehead, if I did not react quick enough he would have continued to scratch! The lady who sat on the next table showed us her arm how this cat scratched her so badly and she also showed the owner, why not warn us in advance to avoid such an unpleasant experience.

It is nestled in a built up area, with a lovely garden and patio. The service was excellent and friendly, and the menu is classic.

We celebrated my mother-in-laws 75th birthday recently. It is a lovely place with good service. I had a normal breakfast, which was fine and the personal touch Toast on You thingy in every plates toast was cute! For dessert I had chocolate cake. This can be a bit more moist and, believe it or not! LOL, a bit smaller portion. Ample parking, a friendly car guard (dont think he is employed by Koekela, though) but very busy - you definitely have to book in advance. Enjoy!

Lovely food and great service every time lve visited. Although their party platters are a bit expensive, it is a high step above the usual frikkadel and sausage roll we are used to. With delights like salmon and cream cheese pita, spinach and ricotta tartlets, brie and fig quiche and many more, you cant go wrong. Would recommend highly if you feel like relaxing with great food on your oumas stoep-vibe.

Picturesque unique decor, very homey feel. Amazing food with lots of healthy options - several vegetarian/ vegan options available. The best cakes and pastries. Perfect for functions and also just for having a good time with family and friends.

Ice cold beans.Weak, watery coffee.Black avocado.Cheap juice.Wouldnt reccomend, though Im glad they have vegan options. The vegan options are the only reason they get three stars and not one.

Koekela is my home from home restaurant and coffee shop. It is the place that I invite friends to, where we can talk and eat and drink cappuccino for hours on end. The food is always of the best quality and the staff treat me like long lost family every time I visit, Koekela!

It was fine until my friend was escorted to the toilet to breast feed her baby boy because some white women felt uncomfortable. Very disappointing considering we were all women and that situation could have been handled better. Food was good but the service was very disappointing and very much racially discriminatory.
