The Jordan Restaurant is one of the best restaurants and I try to have lunch here each time to I visit. The set menu is great value for money with the wine pairing. The wines are excellent and compliment the food. I can highly recommend the mussels and the Poppy seed souffle, which comes with custard and ice cream. The atmosphere is great and you have a great view over the vineyards and a dam. Theres wine tasting and a bakery as well.
Location and food was excellent, no complaints there, my only gripe is with the fact that we made a booking well in advance and noted that it was a birthday dinner. One would expect a window seat with a nicer view given the booking. Nope. Stuck in the back corner with the excuse of first come, first serve. What is the point of making a booking? Also, we bought a voucher that was part of a package deal during the alcohol ban with the lockdown, and we were quite surprised to learn that a 10% gratuity has automatically been added to the bill come time to pay... so my R600 voucher was automatically only worth R540 from the get-go. Not that we would have tipped anything less than 10%, but taking my choice away is not right, especially considering you have had R600 of our money for months now.
Service unfaultable, friendly and uninrusive. Food exceptional - amazing combination of flavors. We will definitely be back!
A lovely selection of breads and spreads with smoked fish spread being a highlight. The steamed Saldanha Bay mussels were beautifully prepared and presented. The sauce was very light on the lemongrass though and too heavy on the ginger.Although the yellowtail was well prepared, the extremely salty bonemarrow and curry like sauce domineered and did dish an injustice. The sirloin was well presented and the accompanying chutney was lovely. All was washed down with a delicate Waterford rosé and Jordan Chenin Blanc.Found the ambience somewhat sterile and staff a little distant. The factor that could be addressed and make all the difference. The vistas from the stoep are breathtaking though.
Fabulous food and great views
**Vegan review** When we phoned in the morning to notify that I had a dietary preference for vegan food, we were warned that the food would be “bland” because they weren’t notified earlier. The restaurant definitely fulfilled that promise. Firstly, the staff made my lunch experience exceptionally uncomfortable as a consequence of not actually having knowledge about food. Secondly, I essentially ate mushrooms and avocado both for starter and main dish. The dessert was also a let down, as I was served a mere 3 tiny scoops of sorbet without even a berry or a flower. There was no soy or almond milk available for the coffee either. I ordered some coconut milk. It is sad that a restaurant of that standard is not adhering to the demand for plant-based foods in the industry. 2/5.
Beautiful restaurant, divine menu. Good service. Always book, they are busy! Definitely recommend booking for lunch so that you can take in their breathtaking views.
Delicious food. Great and knowledgeable service, I took my Fiance for His Birthday and we both loved our food. It is fresh, seasonal and very well prepared. The views are amazing.
Top class Restaurant with it’s own bakery. Beautiful views, relaxed dining and great staff!! 5 stars!!
Exceptional experience. Mesmerising view, first class wines and outstanding cuisine. Loved it!
Just love this restaurant, especially in the winter when they have winter specials! Very good food in a relaxed setting. Beautiful views of the winelands. Booking is necessary.
Food was great....
10 stars for this place. My favourite restaurant Ive ever visited worldwide. Ive never seen or tasted food so beautifully served and bursting with flavour. The staff seems invisible and when you think you want something they already have it there... bit strange... like they can read minds, i guess its years of experience who trained them. The mind behind these dishes are genius, it really takes you on a journey and later on you forget where you are, We kept thinking is this what steak really tastes like? wow. I can highly recommend doing the food and wine pairing. The wines have completely spoiled ALL other wines for me, its exclusively what I drink now.Why does this place only have 70 + reviews?? Netflixs Chefs Table should do an episode here. Absolutely outstanding. Im just speechless now.
I do not enjoy any restaurant where the customer is not allowed to order a starter, main meal and dessert separately. There was no compensating for the fact that I may change my mind after the starter as to what I had in mind for the main meal depending on the size of the starter. After all I am the customer. The waiter nor the manager were willing to let us order after each course. Not satisfactory......service industry in SA.....Mmmmmmmmm. One star as I had to remove 4 stars for the uncompromising service .
We were a party of 7 for a celebration lunch. I ordered a starter of grilled figs, blue cheese foam, dehydrated onion rings, croutons & blue cheese bites. Very delicious. Main course, I wish I had ordered the sirloin steak which was thoroughly enjoyed by 3 of our party or the fish which was pronounced perfectly cooked. I had the quail which was a bit of a disappointment, served with braised cabbage which to my taste was overcooked. The cheese board was individually selected from an amazing range in the cheese room.Overall, an enjoyable experience in a great venue.
The views are great in the afternoon. The manageress is a bit rude. My clients felt like they were being chased away after we arrived with no booking. We did not mind being told that you are fully booked, but for someone to behave like a bulldog was misplaced.
Valentines day mess.It was at least my 10th time at Jordan. Tasty food with good sized portions.I booked for Valentines and when we got there we had only the 5course set degustation menu at R695 to choose from.Effectively they removed the cheaper 3 course option and called it a valentines day dinner. The 5course is a staple on the menu. So what exactly was the point? No complementary V day drinks no roses on the table no decorations nothing. This was not advertised on the website, instagram, dineplan or any other area. Really spoilt the evening.
Friendly and efficient waiters...great food... Wonderful setting...Well worth visiting for lunch or dinner... have had a few dinners here and never been disappointed...Elvira Holz
Friendly staff, beautiful views and amazing food
Always a lovely experience. Gourmet food in a beautiful, visually stunning atmosphere.
Absolutely delicious!
Absolutely amazing food in a stunning setting. No children allowed during supper. Lunch is served as a set menu.
Absolutely brilliant. What every dining experience should be like.
The most beautiful setting, incredibly delicious food for a very reasonable price. Janine adds a personal touch and is incredible with customer communication! Thank you.
Delicious food ,very good service. Found the dessert too sweet . Could have had some sour and texture to make it more interesting

An amazing evening!Fabulous food, wine and service.
Beautiful atmosphere hidden in the wine lands.
Ok - this is a tough one ...My wife and I had a not-so-great lunch dining experience there yesterday. We had reservations but when we arrived we were met by a gentleman who stated that we couldn’t sit at a table by the water because they were too full, despite there being a number of empty tables! He told us that we would have to sit at the bar just outside the bakery. I was floored! When we asked for a table he implied that he was simply too busy to seat more people. I was visibly upset at how we were treated. Nonetheless, we ordered a burger and the steak sandwich. It took over an hour for our food to arrive - remind you that we’ve been wine tasting all morning so you can imagine how we were feeling around 2pm on an empty stomach! Our waiter was outright rude to us. The service was slow. And the food was so-so.We unfortunately left Rust En Vrede, where the wait staff was very friendly, excellent service and delicious looking food to have lunch at Jordan. That was a mistake.Next time we visit the winelands, Jordan will not make the cut. There are too many places in the area that provide friendly staff, excellent service and great food. The views at Jordan are quite lovely but the unfriendly wait staff, poor service, and mediocre food make it not worth ones time. There are simply too many other great options nearby.Re: jordan wines - some really lovely reds....
Great vibe, great staff. Great food.
Both bistro and restaurant
Food was amazing! Was however disappointed that our 12 guests had to sit in two separate 6 seaters.
Good food and a surprising pre-starter. Great view
Great food with a great view!
Chill and cozy relaxing.good wine
Loved it! Excellent service!
Great food and view!
Great food with amazing views and top notch service.
Food ok but the view is amazing!
Dont miss this one!
A must visit, and see
Excellent food
Fantastic!
Phenomenal!!!!!!!!!
The outward journey with the uber was an experience. A little off road these streets here. A little further away from the hustle and bustle it feels quite good here. The menu is small, 4 dishes per course. Quality and preparation were very good. The view is unique! (The full moon in combination with the panorama -> almost like in Disneys Lion King). The open kitchen contributes to the funny background noise and the service is, as so often here, very warm. Reservation recommended.
All the best
Unfortunately the restaurant did not convince us. The view is really great. The service, however, was only mediocre. Our waitress obviously had stress with her boss. There was no smile or a friendly word. The mussels were really excellent. The rump steak, however, was tough and streaky. After my complaint, I was recommended a pork belly that was very good. A pity.....
The restaurant did not quite convince us. The service was not the best and we had to wait a long time for the food between the courses. And the most important thing, the food, was now no taste explosion. Nevertheless, we recommend it, if you already stayed at the Jordan Winery.
We have been a guest for many years and with full enthusiasm for this kitchen! One of the best ways to enjoy a good dinner
Great, super recommendable! Food and Wine tip!
Top restaurant with great food and very good service 👍👍👍
Despite a great atmosphere and very good food, there are two clear criticisms.Upon arrival it took 20 minutes to have a wine and the service seemed unwilling to take our order. The food was tw. excellent, partly good, but the risotto was rather bland. That the bill was billed in euros without asking (with a corresponding 3.5% surcharge) is bold and gives cause for real criticism of the otherwise friendly service.
Great wines! Great food + very friendly service
Fantastic place
