Absolutely phenomenal experience! My granddaughter and I had some we-time and decided to visit the Overture on the recommendation of a family member. We were met with exceptional customer care: Super caring, friendly, welcoming, staff. They were concerned about any allergies that we might have that may impact the amazing 3 or five course meal that will be prepared for us. We discovered canapes and hot ciabatta with whipped butter are divine explosions on the palate. We simply loved it. Service is well formatted. The waitress served us timeously, keeping our glasses filled. The time between the courses was well managed. Staff adhered to Covid protocols. The venue is found on a hilltop overlooking the beauty of nature and fills you with tranquility. Words cannot describe the unique experience, absolute divine meals and awesome views to be found at Overture. Where to begin with the description of the meals! My goodness! The food is really tasty with different explosions of flavors. The waitress explains exactly what you will be eating and what has been prepared. It shares the same premises of Hidden Valley Wines where wines can be bought and has wheel chair access. The lights are a bit too low though. This place is true Awesomeness! Awesomeness! Awesomeness! Price is worth it. This is an ideal place for a special event not exceeding 60 people. Thank you staff of Overture for a unique experience. We will be back soon with the whole family!
We went for a very nice lunch on a sunny Saturday , very relaxing in the beautiful wine region. We opted for the 5 courses menu, there was a three courses option but we were intrigued by all we read on the list. It’s a pity we couldn’t do wine pairing, but that’s the rule for level 4 . We’ll surely go back soon , food was good and very well plated. Don’t be worried by the size of the dishes at the beginning of the meal, you won’t leave hungry.
You want go wrong spending time here. Best views, great wine and awesome food. Always a joy visiting here.
Food is always remarkable. Wine list horribly overpriced. Spoils the whole purpose of going to a wine farm for lunch
We went in December 2020 for their Thursday special, did the 3 course with wine pairing. R250 for 3 course and R290 for wine pairing. Not sure I would recommend the wine pairing might be better to pick your own wine off the menu. Although we really enjoyed the experience, Im not sure I would pay the normal price on other days. The service was very good. Somelier was knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the raw yellowtail, was handsdown my favourite course. The rest of the group had the chicken liver pate and everyone agreed its one of the bests they have had.Mains I had the bream, it was also good but I felt the onion was a bit much( obviously taste is objective the next person might enjoy it). The pork belly was also a bit of a let down. BUT the sirloin was the winner here! Perfectly cooked, I kicked myself for not ordering it myselfDessert I tried the mango sorbet(moslty cause I love bubbly and hate sweet wines) I felt it lacked that pineapple punch. Yet again the one to go for here is the salted caramel tart..had a taste and can truly say wow.If you are considering Overture, go and try it but go on a Thursday. I loved seeing al.the young people working there not sure if they are chefs in training or working as interns but was nice to see
Fantastic food. Fantastic drinks. Fantastic service. Amazing views. Incredible experience!
The experience was amazing. The service was awesome. Every course was presented with a story. Some interesting Covid meal. Ill keep it a surprise. The food was divine. The staff were well presented. The views are awesome too. We heard lots of foreigners, which was fantastic to hear. We had the 5 course with the cheese platter. Wow. We will go again and again!
Great experience..very friendly staff Ill definitely go back again👌👌
We decided on the wine pairing 3 course menu with choices for each course. The food was delicious, the wines well paired and the service was excellent. The sommelier was entertaining and knowledgeable. The weather allowed for us to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. All made for a most relaxing and enjoyable lunching experience.
Hubby and I visited for a Friday night date night and boy what a treat! Firstly, the impeccable service needs a special mention. From the manager on duty welcoming us at the door to the drinks master and the kitchen staff, everyone was very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. Soon after arriving a drinks trolley was wheeled our way with a wonderful selection of cocktails to choose from. We opted for the old fashioned and it was delicious. We happily sipped on this while perusing the evenings menu. We opted for the four course wine paired menu and it was, to say the least, sublime. The attention to detail was exceptional and the knowledgeable waiters explained everything to the last detail. This oldie but goodie should in our opinion definitely be visited for an experience to remember
High quality menu paired with good wines. A delectable journey. Try the soufflé. Excellent service. Beautiful venue.
Had a really great evening. The food was fantastic, the service was absolutely great and above it all the view was absolutely amazing. I would definitely go again and I am also going to check out the deck.I usually thought you walk out of these kinds of places still only half way full, but this was definitely not the case.It is a bit expensive compared to your average restaurant, but the thing to remember is you do not get average food or service, it is amazing.
Wow, what an experience. We went for a birthday and it was incredible. The food was unbelievably good, the atmosphere was perfectly relaxing, and the service was spectacular. When I asked if they could substitute a pescatarian option for me, it was not a problem at all. Absolutely wonderful, and we cant wait to get back.
My boyfriend & I visited for dinner to try the 5 course set menu. What a food experience this was! Every single thing was so well thought out and all of the staff were incredibly knowledgable & friendly. Was so lovely to hear all about the origins & inspirations for each dish, including for the canapés, petit fours & the freshly baked bread. The food was experimental and refined, and yet everything was delicious and down to earth. You can see there is a lot of love and effort put into making the food and the experience as a whole stellar for customers. A real treat to come here & receive such good service & cuisine!
Best food. Beautiful setting. Best service. Wonderful experience.
Lovely experience with delightful treats
Superb restaurant on the most spectacular setting. A real gem in the Cape. Not to be missed.
Beautiful place, nice food, great staff, you cant go wrong.
Officially my favourite dining experience in South Africa. Let renowned chef Bertus Basson blow you away with his creative and original taste sensations. This fresh & seasonal dining treat is a set menu experience, with each meal reflecting a story. From chicken heart to Giraffe bone, always a surprise in store. Enjoy the contemporary architecture of the modern Hidden Valley winery - not your traditional Cape Dutch wine farm, plus you may get a chance to meet Bertus! Booking in advance is essential.
Excellent food. Great service
This was our second visit during the COVID-19 restricted period, and the experience was a treat despite the extra precautions, which btw made us all feel safe and cared for.The food is amazing and beautifully presented. The portions were just right, even big for some of the courses (making for some great doggy bag). The venue is fantastic in terms of layout and decor and the view is just the best. We love the wines too. The meal is no bargain but better than some high end restaurants with less. Cant think of a better combo.
Sensational! We went for the 4 course with wine pairing. Everything was stunning and tasty, super knowledgable and helpful staff. You won’t be disappointed.
Really cool spot for a picnic, wine tasting or lunch. Very picturesque and also kid friendly. Helps that the food is out of the top drawer as well lol. If you like beer then i highly recommend the house lager.
You cant go wrong booking a table for an unforgettable experience and value for money
Exceptional
I think the mussels / fish was off. The entire group had food poisoning.
We had the pleasure and privilege of dining at Overture last night which exceeded our every expectation. It was undoubtedly the finest restaurant we ate in the Western Cape with the most spectacular setting. The experience was massively enhanced by the front of house manager Shaun who catered for our every need, was attentive , passionate and informative. He is a credit to your organization.

The food is as beautiful as the view. We loved every bite. The winelist is impressive but just a bit on the expensive side. The service is world class.
What a great food and wine pairing! Will be back most definately and its not just because of the great views either !!!
Just the best. Food, view and service.
The most special dining experience in Stellenbosch! Thank you chef Drikus and team for a superb meal and exceptional service.
An absolutely amazing culinary experience!
We had the opportunity to dine at Overture 12 November. Amazing views, great wine list, exceptional food - packed with flavour.Sommelier was pretty subpar however, we did the wine pairing, but for 2 of the 3 courses the wine arrived only after we finished our dishes (approx 15min after food arrived), no apology or anything like that. He also did not provide any insights on the wine provided, Google was our friend ;).Other waiters were exceptional - thanks to them.
Nothing short of incredible all around!
Very nice venue, good food and friendly staff.
Very good, and ticks all the boxes. Definitive a place to go if you want to show your GP,s, what it is all about in CT
What an experience!! Great Hospitality and Fantastic Food!!
Dinner was good. Service was excellent.Wine pairing was OK.Had a good time.
Awesome food. Great service, superb wine. Spent a good 4 hours on a culinary journey through the tasting menu.
We opted for the 5 course meal with the wine pairing and had a wonderful lunch with beautiful views over the vineyards. My favourites were the Tamarind Aubergine and the Lemon Souffle.
Always a treat!
My wife and I went for an anniversary lunch. Unbeknownst to us at the time of making the booking, it was the day the restaurant reopened after several months of closure due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. The staff had not lost their touch however. While observing the requisite social distancing protocols, the host/waiter nonetheless made us feel very welcome and several different chefs came out to deliver different courses of the five-course set menu. Everything was cooked to perfection and delectably seasoned. It was honestly probably the best restaurant meal Ive had in my life, and the absence of wine (due to the alcohol ban) was hardly noticed. Need I mention the beautiful venue with panoramic views of vineyards and mountains?
Great food and awesome chefs
Best food experience in a beautiful setting. Just perfect.
If youre looking for a way to blow all your spare cash - this is it. Be prepared to spend R600+ per person.Rumour has it that theres a 50% off special on Thursday.Open for lunch & dinner only.
Great food and great service. Loved it
The best restaurant that I have experienced in South Africa. And that is saying something!
Great atmosphere and divine food!
Fantastic food
Truely an amazing experience. Must try!
Wow awesome place and awesome food
A favourite in Stellenbosch. Set menu a wonderful gastronomic experience. Carefully curated wine list of boutique wines. Perfect service. Highly recommended.
Fine dining at its best. Extraordinary food. Easy sophisticated ambience and service warm and attentive! Delicious wines. A perfect choice for a romantic evening or a group occasion.
Beautiful
Amazing food and wine with a beautiful view.
We had our office year end lunch here. Picked the 4 course meal package. Service was very good, friendly and informative. Food was delicious and requires a follow up visit or two.
Every course was delicious! Its a real treat for anyone looking for fine dining versions of traditional South African dishes and flavours.
Great views. Great food. Yes they are relatively expensive, but its absolutely worth it. Food portions are better than expected. Wonderfully place.
Superb 👌❤️
My family booked this for my birthday. Very unimpressed with the food and service. The soufflé was raw and runny and could be drank through a straw. Sent 2 back. They gave me a complimentary cake which was stale. Restaurant smelled of old oil. So many more delightful restaurants in the area.
Excellent food, stunning views, not so excellent service. We felt we were rushed from mid-menu to desserts - at one point the waitress even started to clear my half finished plate. And despite the urgency, we needed to wait to pay for almost 20 minutes.
Excellent
Simply fabulous, all my guests were so impressed. Well done Chef Bertus and team, you made our day so memorable
First class food
Seemed like they were trying too hard with the food. Service needs a lot of work if it wants to be rated as it is- don’t expect people grunting to carry trays or as they put down cutlery. Superficially food was seasoned well but as soon as you’d had the first bite you immediately needed more salt - just seemed to lack thought on the size of certain things and how to ensure flavour.
Amazing experience of tastes. Had 6 course taster menu together with their The Secret wine. Besides the great quality of food the portions were also gracious. Sitting on the deck we had a beautiful view into the valley.
Service attentive but non invasive, excellent cuisine. Only a small negative comment: despite having been advised of a gluten allergy at our table there were no gluten free choices amongst the mignardises, a disappointment
One of the best restaurants in South Africa. Exzellent food and perfect service
Phatanstic restaurant, very authentic, the right balance between gourmet quality and portion size !
Best of the best
Quite pricey... but worth it!
Excellent experience. Great food and friendly service 🌟
An amazing experience. Wow! Thank you overture team for a wonderful afternoon!
A welcome rendezvous with modern South African cuisine. Charming, and deeply nourishing.
The name says it all. Hidden away at the end of a long & winding road lies this gem of a restaurant. Magnificent views, flavorful & well presented food & excellent service. A must visit for any foodie.
Wonderful setting, fantastic food and amazing service.
Excellent fine dining experience with superb service.
Really special and delish
This was more than a 5 star experience! Thank you for excellent food and oustanding service.
The first time we ate here...i was blown away! Amaizing! The 25th of march 2018....well it started great..but the main...sorry guys that fish was not salmon..although that was what the menu said. Still good...but would have like the salmon.
One of our favourite lunch venues. Magnificent views, excellent service and outrageously delicious & imaginative food
