Oppie Dorp was a pleasant surprise. They are very unassuming from the outside. Once you sit down you are blown away. The service was great. Eddie was attentive to our needs and gave us great service. The food was delicious. Oppie Dorp is very affordable. The portions are generous. We ordered the pork belly and calamari starters and it was almost like a main meal. Some restaurants would give you less as a main meal. Very tasty! The dessert was very nice too. We will be going back.

Starters are affordable,we had a lovely rich pork belly. Mains are rather pricey, we shared a Mushroom Risotto which was tasty. Friendly helpful staff.

Unpleasant, Unprofessional and disappointing experience on a Birthday.After making a booking for 5 people for lunch and confirming lunch with the entertainer app. the owner refused to accept.During the entire experience he did not greet or acknowledge us in the restaurant or show any interest in our meal or experience.it was extremely embarrassing and humiliating to be treated in this manner on your birthday. i still very very hurt, embarrassed and disappointed in this behavior. Surely guess should not be treated in this manner.Also after making the expensive call for a booking and driving the extra distance to get to the restaurant when there were other options for lunch closer to our holiday accommodation it was not necessary to be treated like this.surely, if the owner does not want customers to use entertainer app, maybe entertainer customers are not good enough for his restaurant they he should not be on the app at all.Very, very disappointed !!

When you approach, there is outside seating which looks very casual and inviting, but when you enter the front door you are greeted with a place of elegance and comfort.The waiters are well prepared and there is nothing on the menu they are unsure of and have the specials down pact.I was hoping the food would be as good as the the service, but it was better! We could not have asked for a better prepared meal, even the side dishes were prepared to perfection.Dear owner, I commend you on the absolute exquisite food, oh, and I loved reading and having a giggle at the quips you have on the menu

Quiet Restaurant with effective fast service. The food was amazing. Had lamb shank with rosemary patato wedges. The shank was infused with a mint jelly juice. Reasonably priced big portion could not finish the whole plate.

Another gem discover thru Entertainer.I am pleasantly surprise by the quality establishments on the Entertainer App.The waiters are very friendly and efficient and clearly understand the rules for Entertainer .Food is very well priced and of top quality.Definitely a place to return to in future.Unfortunately only one voucher left on my entertainer app😢Will see you guys soon.

We arrived a bit late and there was a bus load of folks in here, so we had to order quickly.The food which they served was just gorgeous. We have never seen such a huge tuna steak, or succulent ostrich fillets. They have a great range of affordable wines, and the service is very good if a little erratic.

One of the most underrated restaurants in Stellenbosch! We had excellent food, the staff was friendly, and the overall ambiance was perfect for an intimate dinner. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had dinner here this past weekend. Considering the price point, we were disappointed with the standard of the food. We both had the lamb, and mine was not soft, quite chewy in fact, (my wifes was better) but both of ours was way too salty, and this coming from someone who enjoys their food on the salty side. For desert, I had the Creme Brulee, this too wasnt up to standard, with the consistency being far too runny. My wife had the Malva pudding, and it was rather bland. Service was good enough, and staff were friendly, they just need to up their game in the kitchen.

If or when you visit #Stellenbosch #SouthAfrica, I highly recommend this place. The specials they serve are incredibly good. Although it can get pricey, its worth the price.

The food is amazing for the price. It has an intimate, hearthy ambience.

Compared to other restaurants in Stellenbosch the food lacked flair and the service was below average. Still a great place for dinner but below the standard we have been seeing.

Lovely restaurant with really nice staff! We had a very tasty springbok cappacio, followed by the amazing wild platter: ostrich, springbok, crocodile, kudu and duck. And finished with a nice creme brulee. They were able to prepare all of this gluten free :)Would definitely go back here!

Christmas day well spent with family. We had a lovely outside table as it was such a beautiful day in Stellenbosch. We had an amazing lunch and to top it all off we had some desserts as we just couldnt resist. We will defnitely be back soon!!!

Small restaurant with outdoor seating under the oak tree. Lamb shank dish was excellent.

A lovely venue and really good food. Isaac was a very good host and took greaf care of us. A wine tasting of Fleur du Cap wines for R50 was a good deal too! A lovely evening in one of my favourite towns!

Excellent service from Colin. This restaurant comes up when I search for vegan restaurants in Stellenbosch even though their vegan options are limited to a pizza. Colin did go to the trouble of modifying a dish for me in order to make it vegan.

Weve been to Oppie Dorp due to a personal recommendation and we werent disappointed at all!The food is great,tasteful and plenty. Ask for the meat platter (not explicitly on the menu) and youll get a great range of different African game meat.The staff was very friendly and quick to react.When Im back in the area again, I will come back for sure!

Lots of sugar in the sauce for the slow roasted lamb. It tasted like there was a bunch of chutney in it. It would have been better if they just seasoned it with salt and pepper. My wifes sirloin was somehow sweetened as well.The lights were super bright for an evening meal.The chairs could not be pulled into the table.The whole place just needs a revamp, top-to-bottom.

Great food and friendly staff. They have a great tasting plater with the different wild game meat. Prices are slightly higher than your average restaurants, but the quality and variation is worth the slightly higher charges (of course hopefully it will not be more). They have some good wine (as in all places in the area). Make sure to make a reservation if you want to sit outside during the good weather days. Will certainly return to this place if I am in the area.

We had dinner at Oppie Dorp. The location is rather small but nicely furnished and decorated. Food is of high quality but our fish was not perfectly seared. Apart from that, the food definitely is worth the price, as is the service, which was so good it needs to be mentioned here.Oppie Dorp also has the advantage that they are open on Mondays when many other restaurants are closed.

The food is incredible. It has lots of different rooms for seating so there is not one large restaurant floor. The waiter was most helpful. I had the slow roasted lamb which was exquisite. The music was very quiet and in the background...so one could talk and one of my friends is deaf so it was a pleasure for him.

One of my favorite places to bring visitors for dinner. The detailed offerings change often but the lamb dish, venison of the day, and fish of the day are always good bets, as is the calamari. Many of the starters can be ordered as mains. Sometimes they also have a Venison Platter, with a selection of game meats, which is fun with international visitors. For dessert, their Malva Pudding is the best Ive had. Nice old building and cute decor.

Every time we’ve been here we’ve had excellent service. Today Isaac went way beyond what we would hope for good service, recommending a good wine, taking photos, and organising food for our kids despite the absence of an official “kids menu”. Food was top notch, and portion sizes good adult-sized (not crazy student-sized 😉) Thanks for a lovely experience!

The Biltong salad was great. The seafood pizza was not really doing it for me. We were kind of seated behind a post, but otherwise pretty much on the street. Service was okayish.

Among my favorite restaurant experiences ever! Super service to start with, and the platter of native game was perfectly presented and delicious. Have your kudu rare and live to tell the tale! Dont visit this town without experiencing this place.

We had an awesome evening in this little gem. Especially our main, a game platter, was perfect. Food was plenty and the meat perfectly cooked. In addition we got great wine recommendations and perfect service. Plus the settle music gave everything the last litte touch it needed.

One of my favourite restaurants. The food is presented beautifully and is always truly special. The interior of the restaurant is decorated tastefully and old meets new in an elegant way. Service is top notch.

Our waiter was very slow, but maybe the guy was in training. The restaurant has good wine. The food was fairly medium potions nothing too much. Good spot easy to find.

It‘s a very nice Restaurant with good food, however compared to other restaurants on the Garden Route more expensive (we had the Daily special for 2 for 690 Rand). The staff is super friendly and Service from our waiter Jerry were extraordinary.

What an amazing dining experience! Everything on the menu is amazing!! I dont think youll have a chance of ordering a bad meal here. Friendly service and only excellent food and wine. The vibe was classy but comfortable and the funny food and wine quotes on the walls and in the menu add on to the comfort of the dining experience.

There are some exotic options of food that are availible which are exceptionally well prepared. The great service is accompanied by a warm, rustic atmosphere. A lovely place to dine with a large group or a significant other.

Oppie Dorp is certainly one of the best restaurants in the Stellenbosch area. Although not as inviting from the outside as others the inside is cozy and warm. It is an ideal place for a relaxed dinner next to the fireplace. Dishes are of outstanding quality and beautifully presented. There is always something new or different on the menu. The portions are also quite large but Im certainly not complaining. The staff are friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Oppie Dorp has proven time and again that they deserve to be one of my all time favourites.
