We were a group of 7 people visiting the restaurant and it was an awesome experience to have supper at Oude Werf Hotel. From the very friendly staff, especially the barman, to the tasty food, we never tire of visiting Oude Werf.The hotel staff always makes you feel at home & the kitchen staff even prepared a starter for my husband that wasnt on their menu. Well done!

We stayed for 2 days the hotel is amazing right in the middle of Stalenbosh. Food was great and stuff extremely friendly. Dont mind coming back at all and suggesting to friends and family to try it them self

We had breakfast with my husband and father for Fathersday. Had a lovely experience. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The waitress was very knowledgeable and witty. My husband and i had Benedict which was superb, even my four year old enjoyed it!

Ideal courtyard lunch. Good variation on menu. Will be back.

Lovely boutique hotel in the middle of Stellenbosch CBD. Close to lots of restaurants and cafes in the area, everything is within a walking distance. Theres a valet parking service available. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are nice and comfy. The shower is a modern design and fairly spacious. There are beautiful white robes in the wardrobe. The staff was quite friendly and welcoming.

What a lovely historic building in Stellenbosch central. The Oude Werf hotel has a quaint and well decorated restaurant. It has a lovely atmosphere and ambience.We had the best Valentines lunch here, a 4-course meal with wine-pairing. They had non-alcoholic selections too.The service was excellent, the food was absolutely delicious. The wine was a brilliant accompaniment with each dish.Everything was quite affordable.This place is highly recommended.

Service was of highest standard. Ambience was absolutely serene and welcoming. One of best bedroom units we have ever slept in, luxurious and opulent yet comfortable at same time. Also hotel is in heart of stellenbosch where the restaurants, bars, wine tasting places and coffee shops reside.

We were lucky to spend one night at the hotel this weekend. Wonderfully central yet tranquil location in the heart of Stellenbosch. Warm and welcoming staff - nothing was too much trouble despite full compliance with Covid regs being enforced in everything that was done. Very clean and comfortable room. Fabulous tea pairing by Belinda ! Something different... Great dinner and breakfast. All in all a great experience. We hope to come back soon and encourage all local travellers to support the SA hospitality industry.

Very happy with our stay here, especially due to the excellent service from absolutely all staff members!Rooms are large, and there is a nice balcony and pool area.Very comfortable and large bed.In the middle of Stellenbosch within walking distance from everything.Breakfast could be improved in terms of ingredients, such as offering real eggs and orange juice. Nice with the fresh fruit though.

It was an amazing restaurant , it is a nice place and cozy. The chef was very kind and flexible. He let me choose the dishes for my kids and add or change the ingredients. I would recommend to have a special dinner in this restaurant.👍🏻

Went there for breakfast and had a choice of hot or cold buffet style meals. Excellent variety but most importantly... my experience was extra special by the staff. I wish I could give you a 20 guys... you were friendly, efficient and had me in stitches. Every question was asked without hesitation.

Oude Werf resturant was such a pleasant delight.Greeted with warmth and were treated exceptionally well. The food and service was outstanding. Our host, Ryan really set the bar for how to be treated when eating out. He made it a memorable experience and we definitely recommend the breakfast buffet.

Our first night in South Africa and were better to stay than the Oude Werf Hotel, the oldest hotel in Stellenbosch. The old style elegance of the hotel made you feel special, a guest from another era. Our room was large, well equipped and spotlessly clean. All the staff were very helpful and informative. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the hotel and were not disappointed, the food was excellent. The hotel is located within a lovely area and a short stroll takes you into the heart of the town. Would stay there again.

The atmosphere and location are great however, the quality of the food and service were not. Staff was very friendly just not appropriately trained. Went there for dinner our meat was over cooked and our waitress asked us if wed take it anyway? But this was during appetizers so there was plenty of time to re-cook. Really amatuer to even ask us to take it anyway. A bit more training of the staff and this place could be top notch just not there yet.

Its one of the nicest restaurant s that we have been to. They are ready to oblige you with diet preference s. All the people concerned are cheerfull and look after you as if you were their special guest.Food is excellent and ambience is soothing.

I had a wonderful stay at the Ouwe Werf hotel for 3 nights during a conference. It’s in a perfect central location, has a parking garage and the staff like most South Africans are so kind and welcoming. My “plenty room” was indeed very spaceous and bed was very comfortable. The pool is on the ‘cute’ size, but perfect to cool down in. And the breakfast is exceptionally delicious. Really enjoyed it and hope to return for next year’s conference.

Been to Oude Werf on 20th April 2019 and my experience with the food was not something what I expected to have for the evening. I ordered seafood platter and most of the food in the platter was raw and smelled fishy. The smell made me feel nauseated, I expected the place to be lit but I was disappointed. Only calamari tasted good in that platter. Upon informing the manager he took away the complete platter including calamari and I ended up paying for the food even when I barely touched the platter. Ill not recommend anyone to try fish from Oude Werf, food which requires less effort to prepare does taste good.

This is an hotel that makes you feel at home when away from home. The service is excellent and professional. Restaurant is well priced with good food. Rooms clean and spacious. The internet service is not perfect but works.

I had a wonderful breakfast at the Oude Werf Restaurant. An absolutely beautiful restaurant with friendly staff and quick and efficient service with a smile. Their breakfast was delicious and I can only imagine that their other foods are just as amazing. The perfect way to start the day.

This has to be one of the best, if not the best city hotel Ive ever been to. Rooms are really cozy, both breakfast and dinner are really tasty and the hotel itself is located real close to the the main roads of the city.Would go here again any time.

The Oude Werf is charming! The rooms are beautiful and the decorum is lovely. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night night and breakfast this morning. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Stellenbosch.

Very pleasant place to stay in a great location. All the main stellenbosch attractions are nearby, great bars and restaurants within walking distance. Feels very safe. Looks small from outside but new modern extensions at rear and side make it spacious but not too big.

The steak was the best Ive ever had and the service was exceptional. We were waiting in the lounge area before the party began and it was so cozy. We sat by the fireplace and during the winter that really helps.

Right in the heart of Stellenbosch, this beautiful and historical hotel is a lovely place to have breakfast, lunch, dinner or just cake and tea with the girls. High Tea is also available and a great idea for bridal or baby showers. The food is delicious, the venue is lovely and if you need a place to stay, it is walking distance from loads of things to do! Youll love it!

Great hotel, good facilities, spacious rooms, good vibe and nice breakfast. WiFi is also great. Only downside for me was that the room did not have a working desk.

I only had breakfast which you can order at the table and this was delicious. I do not think that the food is overpriced. You can get a really good portion of french toast for 50 rand. And if you decide to only take their filter coffee, which you can refill for no additional cost, you will stay on budget in this restaurant. The location is awesome and you can read about the history of the place in the menu. I have eaten there many times now and never got disappointed by the service nor the food. So definately a place to check out and have an awesome morning.

A great bar, often pop in for a coffee or glass of wine. Afternoon and evening staff are absolutely brilliant (morning staff less so), comfy with a nice vibe.

Very nice hotel centra9locaten in Stellenbosch. Service was great, food was good. Not too wild about our room (avoid room 101 if possible) as it is dark, directly on the street, and off the reception area. The do have secured parking, which is a plus.

Nice and cosy hotel in the center of Stellenbosch. The staff is very friendly, and the superior rooms okay. The patio is a nice oasis in the middle of the town with many cars and tourists.

Beautiful boutique style hotel in Stellenbosch. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. It was a joy to get up to their welcome each morning. An impressive style buffet breakfast provided with a wide range of food from from hot and cold meat and fish to cheese, fruit and cereal.

Had Xmas day dinner at Oude Werf and the service was great. Our waiter was so friendly, the ambience was great, loved the little touches with the Christmas crackers, gingerbread man, the little Christmas tree on every table and the Christmas hats. Food was ok, not to my taste but it was good. Seemed like everyone else enjoyed it. The prawn rissoto starter was the best. I wasnt a fan of the turkey. I really was not impressed by this hotels restaurant. I arrived an hour before lunch, when it was relatively quiet, for some coffee and scones in the shady courtyard. Even though there were few people, it took a long time for a waitron to notice me and offer me a table. The table was untidy. I ordered coffee and scones at the same time. The scones arrived first, cold, dry, under-risen, and I am very sure baked the previous day. They were not served with butter, and the cream was not freshly whipped. The coffee, which wasnt what I ordered, arrived about 10 minutes after that, which I found absurd.Even though the restaurant looks beautiful, the service and food was absolutely not on par.
