Theres no doubt the food is incredibly well made with passion: the hand-made pasta was superb and the thin-based pizza was perfectly cooked. So I was really surprised by the caprese salad we had as a starter which was incredibly bland. The tomatoes were essentially tasteless and the mozzarella, which really seemed homemade, lacked depth of flavour.The chili and garlic condiments were extremely tasty and I think the prices in general are really fair for this authentic Italian restaurant.So Im saddened to not leave a higher rating but the atmosphere was dull for a Friday, and the service was haphazard (we were ultimately served by 3 different people). No one explained the specials to us so we didnt feel that welcome. The traditional welcoming feeling you get in a great Italian restaurant was lacking, but maybe we just had dinner there on the wrong night. It happens.But the main dishes were really good so well give it another try and see how it goes.

What an amazing Italian restaurant. We had a special order of a whole roasted piglet, which was absolutely delicious.The starters are all amazing and I can highly recommend the gorgonzola snails and the arancini balls.The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Definitely have a chat about his restaurant and history.

Authentic Italian goodness. And if you go on Tuesdays it’s half price pizza. The venue is a cozy house with a good wine selection including some imported Italian. Service is friendly. Make sure to reserve a spot here as it gets busy, especially on the aforementioned Tuesdays.Also: Try the Gelato!

Loved the generous portion of delicious home-made pasta, although we found it a bit bland, luckily we were at home so we could add some salt and spice it up ourselves! Great service and will definitely go back to try their pizza’s

Great pizza. A bit different to the usual style as they claim to make authentic Italian pizzas. Great service. Great food. Would like to see a bit more craft beer on the menu but thats just me.When you go on Tuesdays, pizza is half priced.They do not have many pizza options for fussy eaters (my kids). :) But they loved their margarita and regina. Although we had to remove the mushrooms for my son.Definitely going back.

Where do I begin, homey feel, Italian as can get, staff that was friendly, constantly checking to see if everything was ok. Even phoning you after you had your meal. Not something I have experienced. Food was excellent, so nice. Thank you to the best waitress and Manager, Mbali and Bright you will see us again.

Always amazing authentic Italian food. They have a lovely special on Tuesdays where you get half price pizza of you order a drink.

A one star doesnt mean it was bad at all.We drove there for a date night one evening last week only to find seating was suspended.Then we went again on Monday during the day for takeouts but it was closed Are you closed on Mondays?We dont seem to be having luck...

I HIGHLY recommend Fabio’sWas my second encounter at Fabio’s. The true test of a pizzeria is to test a Margarita, there is no toppings to hind behind and WoW dit it deliver.We had both options available and it did not fail.The true Italian cuisine options are true to the roots and especially the in season menu changed daily.See you again soon.

Unfortunately not even 1 star rating. After googling Italian restaurants and checking out Fabios menu online I was excited for a proper italian meal but was extremely disappointed. The knowledge of the waitress was very limited. The actual dish was tasteless. For someone who hardly adds salt to their food I added salt about 4 times trying to get it to taste like something. I could hardly find any seafood in the dish I ordered. My husband and daughter was also really disappointed in their meals. We werent sanitized at the entance and there was no dessert. Im sorry to say that I will never go there again.

Wonderful fresh and authentic Italian food. Superb service and atmosphere. The rack of lamb is to die for, made in the pizza oven so it does take a bit of time but so worth it. Homemade bread crumb crust with olive oil, parmesan and a touch of garlic. Lindiwe (one of the chefs) makes the most divine fresh tagliatelle with butter and parmesan-the perfect side dish. #authenticitalian #5starmeal

Awesome authentic Italian food. Composite wine list. Fresh ingredients and friendly efficient service. Food prepared the Italian way, no variations considered, just well priced, well prepared and balanced tasty fresh food. We visited again for lunch on Saturday 16 February and enjoyed another wholesome meal.

Really big pizzas! For a good price. However my pizza dough was not cooked all the way through and lacked spices (even salt and pepper would do). There is not a very big flavour option and they do stay true to the Italien pizza style. Should you want a gluten free pizza, you would have to make a booking and ask in advance.I really enjoyed the vibe of the little Pizzaria.

We did not enjoy the usual good service last night. We arrived at 6pm...our meal was only served at 8.30pm. Fabio was not present until later & dont know why kitchen was so slow while he wasnt there. He had advertised lamb shank & maybe they werent prepared to actually serve them. Not a good experience.

Great value for great Italian food. The wood oven pizzas are fantastic. Look out for the Tuesday 1/2 price pizza special - Perfect for a family outing or a birthday celebration etc!

A traditional, yet modern authentic Italian restaurant. Wonderful hand made pasta. Definitely worth a try. I will be back to try out more of the menu. Ask about their speciality pastas not on the menu. Watch out for half price pizzas on a Tuesday. And I definitely want to go back to try their metre long pizzas. Watch out when you use google maps to direct you. It is directly across the road from the shopping centre, not a block further on.

Excellent Italian restaurant!Update: I feel that I might have not been fair in my assessment of four stars. Having eaten at Fabios a few times now, I feel 5 stars are appropriate. The food has been consistently excellent. There has never been a mistake with a take away order and the staff has always been friendly and helpful.The gelato bar is a problem though. It is of exceptional quality that will create multiple return visits and the associated weight gain ;). The dark chocolate gelato in particular is the best in an already delicious selection.For great Italian food at an excellent price, I highly recommend a visit to Fabios.

Most likely the best Italian experience you can have in Pretoria. This is not just another pizza place, but yes, the pizza is great as well. The chef is very friendly and courteous, the food is amazing and even though the restaurant is basic looking, it has a delicate and special feel.

Fabios is a great restaurant. We went there for their Tuesday half price pizza special the day before my sons 13th birthday. They surprised him with Ice cream that they make themselves and tastes so good. The pizzas there are incredibly tasty. We have been there many times and will surely go back often again. The staff and owners are very friendly and Fabio himself came to talk to us. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Well, some of us loved the pizzas as they are huge and authentic (bite is 4)....others found the pizzas boring & tasteless (voted 2).Very few vegarstian options.Service is friendly & polite but very slow as we waited 45min for 3 pizzas on an evening that wasnt very busy.I wont return.

Wonderful and authentic Italian food. Rowdy Italian vibe and a good choice of wine. The wines are however pricey.We were however quite disappointed with the manners of the staff. Our waiter was great, but we called in earlier to ask if we can bring our own beef salami, as we do not eat pork. Whoever answered the phone was absolutely rude and said thatw e can eat a vegetarian pizza then. We again said that it is our own beef and well just bring it in. They then agreed but were unnecessarily rude and told us that we still have to pay the full price of the pizza (which we know, this is not the first time that we took our own meat with). It was just unnecessary.

The pasta wasnt incredible. Ill go for pizza next time. Service was amazing. Very friendly people. Id recommend this place. Cosy.

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in town. The menu is varied, but its the specials that truely makes it. It changes regularly and is always fantastic. The homemade pasta can outcompete any italian Nona, and the risotto is spectacular. The owner makes a point of visiting every table, what a legend!

Every so often any business incurs...a speed bump. It happens.I waited more than 30min for my order (which I called in for prior to the time). As I arrived the owner/manager (maybe his name is Fabio) apologised and bought me a beer...problem solved. It’s a Friday and no need to rush.Not many places would adhere to a similar protocol. Fabios understands customer service! Let’s hope other establishments will follow in their example.Belicimo!
