Nice setting and lovely sea views, food was OK though very basic at this price point. For example : I had the grilled hake & chips which was OK but they were clearly ready-made oven chips. Overall not a bad experience though pricey for what you get.

One fantastic location in Paternoster with a really good view of the beach and access to the beach too! I’ll visit again. I just wished they had more options on the menu… but otherwise great!!

A great location with very friendly staff. Everybody in our group loved their food. The prices are fairly reasonable by Cape Town standards. The wine list, however, is very limited and could do with a few more high end wines. Having said that, they only stocked wines from the region which I thought was a nice touch. Typical of a restaurant with a great location, aspects of the experience could be a little more personal. However we loved our experience and would be happy to go back.

For setting, vibe, and placement this quaint little on-beach restaurant scores a 5-star rating. Staff is friendly, fast, and professional.Food is fairly priced. We had the days catch, hake, and chips and calamari+rice for R99 - R110 per dish. Id recommend eating here for lunch, but not for a super delicious dinner or foodie experience.We had malva pudding for dessert, delicious and traditional. If youre looking for traditionally cooked seafood and dessert - yay! But not for an exquisite dining and tasting experience.Dogs are allowed, so dont hesitate to being your pooch along for a bowl of water after a beach walk.Make sure to reserve a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

Friendly staff, the beach is an amazing place for the kids to play while you enjoy your drinks and meal. Food is EXCELLENT...and none of it wouldve been something to post about if it werent for the SERVICE! 👌🏻

Stunning setting right on the beach. Friendly service, but for me the meal was average and could be improved upon. On the other hand restaurant was busy and obviously very popular, I would return for the view, not so much the food.

Lovely seafood

We were delighted with our very late lunch today at Voorstrand.Our server Wendy gave us excellent service. We noted all of the current server crew were working very hard but smiling always.Our food was super good. Oysters, which we shared, followed by a seafood platter & surf & turf.Its no wonder we come back time & time again.Wishing Adrian & the team an excellent summer season to come.Thanks again.

Possibly one of the most beautiful settings for a restaurant in the world. Right on the beach, incredible sunsets. Food is pleasant, fresh and prompt, focus is on freshest seafood largely which is done very well. A true gem!

Reserving a table was very easy and the lady very helpful. The waitresses were friendly and very efficient, even though the restaurant was full we did not wait for our orders to be taken. The food was delicious and the pricing is very affordable! We had the beef fillet medium rare and grilled king prawns. Lovely soft music in the background mixed with the sounds of the waves. Plastic see through blinds get pulled down on windy days so you can still enjoy your meal and view to the fullest ! A definite must visit !

Atmosphere was very nice, the service was good, we were seated right in the front with fantastic sea and beach views, unfortunately for us the snail starter was not that great and the sea food platter, the prawns and fish were okay, the calamari, samoosas and chips were excellent.

Fantastic restaurant right on the beach! Service was excellent and the food was superb! We enjoyed our meal while watching the ocean, the atmosphere is great. We had the soup of the day and a Seafood platter which had a little of everything on it, it was great to have a variety of fish options. Their milkshakes are on another level, recommend the blueberry and strawberry milkshake. Will visit here again!

This restaurant saved our day. On a long weekend we had already been to 3 restaurants and were turned away by all. This was our last stop. Not only did they have a table for us, the service was awesome and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back there. The other restaurants will never see us again.

So I ended up heading off to Paternoster for work. Turns out the place is absolutely gorgeous. Tucked away in the residential area, surrounded by guest houses was Voorstrandt.The restaurant has a variety of dishes, predominantly seafood. I decided to keep it simple and try out the hake and calamari with the option of seasoned rice. It was delicious. Very tasty and fresh. One of my favourite things about Voorstrandt was the fact that I had the opportunity to enjoy, hands down, one of the best views while eating my meal. Youre literally sitting on top of the beach with a beautiful view and the calming noise of the ocean in your ear.I was very pleased with my visit and if or when I return Ill definitely eat there again.

Loved the atmosphere. We had prawns they were big and well cooked... but unfortunately we asked for Piri piri and the sauce is SWEET CHILLI, that really ruined the prawns. But a lovely day anyway.

We had a mess up with our booking. We had confirmed it online but the confirmation did not come through to the restaurant. Thankfully it was not full as it was cold and rainy. We had coffee and a starter. The staff was friendly and the food was lovely. The venue is situated on the beachfront and would be lovely on a warmer day.

Really, really great little gem in Paternoster. The food was great, especially the fish of the day (Kingclip) which I had. All of us were really having a good time. Tried the local brew, The Paternoster Pilsner, and we loved it. Also, pet friendly. All of us were raving about the food. Really good value for money.

Had lunch at this restaurant. Food was the worst for the price. Service was slow .Waited over an hour for our Seafood platters. Prawns was overcooked bordering on biltong. What a waste for a king prawn.Sauce was tasteless and lumps of flour in it. Rice was slimy and tasteless..Expressed my concern to owner he laughed.. View was good. Will definitely not go back

We went to Paternoster for the day, poped in for lunch. We found the food was not done very well, prawns were over cooked, fish cake was price for portion size, creamy garlic sauce was cake flour and processed garlic. The view was good, unfortunately I would not go back.

Located on the Voorstrand beach in Paternoster, this is the perfect location, to enjoy a glass of whine, and freshly prepared dishes, wether for lunch or admiring the sun set over the ocean. Food are beautifully presented and the fish is a must have. It is advisable to make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Such a great view of the beach from the outdoor seating area, which happens to be right on the beach! ;) The food here is excellent. Very flavourful and anyone can see that the dishes were prepared with great care.

We had no one to meet us at the reception so we walked in and asked the manager if we can go through and sit wherever we like seeing that there were so many open tables - the manager was very rude/irritated with me and eventually assisted us with a table. Food was quite good and the location and view is stunning. Not much options to choose from on the menu - basically just seafood.

The food is great. The view of the Atlantic is breathtaking. The overall service could improve- very obvious that they aren’t used to serving people from certain racial groups. The lobster is excellent. The vegetable curry leans towards the sweeter side. Would recommend the lobster.

Nice choice of sea food… from curry to prawns and battered fish. On a cold evening they have heaters on the veranda and blankets.

What a lovely place!We have come with my partner for late lunch today. The views are stunning, the atmosphere is so laid back and relaxed, and just what you expect from a slow sunny Saturday. We had seafood curry and calamari and panko prawn combo, and both of the meals were just perfect. Had hard time finishing it. It is a great spot for everyone from single travellers to big crowded families. Will definitely come back.

Great setting on the beach, great service from the staff. Great food, except for the seafood curry, which had me speaking to the white telephone all night long.

Exceptional location, right on the beach with views of the surf and beach life aplenty. Menu has great options and found the calamari fried to perfection, with just enough herbs to make a superb meal. Staff very attentive, pleasant and helpful. Great venue for a relaxing meal.
