The most beautiful gardens. We will definitely have to go back as we only had half an afternoon but I think an entire day is needed to explore this gem of a wine farm. Had a lovely wine tasting! The waitresses were so helpful and friendly. Would recommend staying for lunch, but maybe book as it gets quite busy. The chrysanthemum glass house/hot house was beautiful, I’ve never seen flowers like it! The little food/market shops also looked liked all the food was fresh and so tasty! Will definitely be back soon, when I’m in Cape Town again.
A fantastic garden visit. Simply walk around and marvel at the diverse fruit, vegetable and herbs being grown in this working garden. The Greenhouse restaurant at the end of the walk is staffed by very friendly waitrons and you find something to suit your palate on the menu.I highly recommend getting the side of fries. Must be close to the best I have ever had.The little shops dotted around the property will tempt you to take something home as a memento. From wine, chocolate, spices meat to soap.
A wonderful days outing to a magnificent estate with the most interesting and user friendly features. Service at the Glasshouse Restaurant was great...thanks Hilton...and food arrived amazingly quickly. Will be back again soon.
Beautiful and spacious estate that has become the go-to place for tourists lately. So prepare to be among people 😉. The little farm shops on the estate selling products and produce are very neatly designed, as are the products.Buy something, sit beneath one of the big trees and watch the chickens or geese. Or go for a stroll through the huge garden. It‘s certainly worth a visit, even if it‘s also a bit overhyped.
A spacious out door gardening delight. From fruit trees, vegetable garden to edible plants. Stunning farm well laided out to stroll or relax in the various grass pods for all ages. Buy creamed honey, wine or fresh veg or dine in the various restaurants.
If you are looking for the perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon, then look no further than the Babylonstoren Wine Estate. We visited on a warm sunny spring day and it was beautiful. We first went for a wine tasting as they are known for their great wines. Usually the reds are my favorites, but on that day their white wines were the definite stand-out. The tasting center was also very busy and had an energetic buzz about it. If you want you can order a bottle of wine to enjoy there and they also have some snacks that go nicely with the wine, making it a perfect spot to relax. After the wine tasting we went for a stroll through their massive gardens which are always beautiful, but with it being spring everything was in bloom which made for a stunning sight. After a long Covid-19 lock down in South Africa, visiting Babylonstoren was just the thing I needed to feel refreshed again. It was also nice to see how friendly and welcoming the staff at the estate were, as they truly make you feel at home.
This is such an awesome place for any day of the week! Walking though the gardens is an experience like no other. It’s neat to go in the Spring/Summer when everything is blooming and beautiful. The lavender fields are gorgeous, and they have so many beautiful spots to take pictures. They cater for an afternoon coffee or fine dining, and their gift shop has some real gems! Definitely worth the trip!
The most magnificant gardens and a great lunch under oak and macadamia trees.
Lovely wine farm. It was so big that we didnt get the chance to visit the gardens. The wine tasting was great and the staff incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about their product. They were also really engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed eating the grapes straight off the vines!
I’d personally not recommend any person of colour to visit this beautiful but unwelcoming venue. The racism experienced by the staff was loathsome to witness in 2021.
Beautiful garden, which is a must-see. Visit on a weekday. When I visited today, Saturday, the estate was over booked and crowded. We waited for an hour to be seated at the Glasshouse, and gave up, only to be told at Babel (with empty tables available) that they have no capacity. Drove over to Noble Hill and had the best Mexican fare, with a glass of chilled wine.
Beautiful gardens. Lovely little shops, wine tasting. Restaurants if you need a break 🙂
Its an amazing beautiful garden. Coffee shop was fantastic. The chips was gorgeous. The food was delicious. Had a wonderful time.
Amazing garden. Great for a family day out.
Very enjoyable visit to this Estate/farm. Fantastic clivia display and most informative staff.
You have to spend a few hours at this farm. There is a tasting room with fantastic platters. A restaurant and a few shops. The scent room, you can get reasonably priced gifts. My absolute favorite was the butchery, bakery and dairy shop. I have not seen such good quality fresh produce and at reasonable prices! We will be reordering online for delivery to our home. We will be back!
Beautiful gardens, exquisite setting and plenty to see, especially if you love gardening and agriculture. Outstanding.
We didnt get further than half way because of all the fun water play spots for kiddies. Hehe but enjoyed our day thoroughly
Wear comfortable shoes and lots of nice things to buy...all natural products!!
Absolutely stunning wine estate with gardens of perfection, places to eat and lovely artisan shops
Awesome place, must see. Everything just speaks for itself, well done guys. Keep up the good work
Absolutely gorgeous. What an absolute treat for the soul. Replenishing, revitalizing gift of Gods nature at its best 🤍
A lovely place to visit with the family. The food and service excellent and a stroll around the gardens is a must.
If you want to spend a wonderful day, immerse yourself in unspoiled nature, this is the right place.
One of the most sort after and perfectly situated wine farms in Cape Town offering excellence in every sphere of their entirety. i.e. Restaurant, hotel, wine tasting etc. and what is still to be revealed.
Great option for kids, when visiting Franschoek. They are amazed at the variety of fruit growing in the orchards. Its a highly pleasant experience overall. The shop sells gourmet food, which is not everyones çup of tea. Consider it the Harrods of Franschoek.
It was lovely, such an awesome place run with such devotion and love. Cannot wait to go there again although I will pick a cooler day next time lol...💜💚💜💚
Great getaway from the city
A Cape Winelands gem. So much to see within this wine farm. Enjoy a yummy meal, wine/drink and a walk exploring its beauty.
Beautiful afternoon enjoyed the lovely walk through Babylonstoren suitable for locals and visitors ( travelers ). Greenhouse lunch was affordable tasty and efficient. Will definitely go back.
Love strolling through the gardens. The clivia path was an amazing show. The succulent shed was an eye opener with most of them in flower.
Farm to Table @babylonstoren what an amazing wine experience. Taste some excellent wines.
Always an absolute pleasure to be here! We love love love the tranquility and peaceful atmosphere. Third time visit and wont be the last!
Love it👌🦋
We have been coming to Cape Town for 12 years and today we visited Babylonstoren for the first time. It is a mystery to us why we have never been here before. The property is impressive and has something for everyone. From the bakery to the garden. From special meat to nice restaurants. In addition there are excellent and awarded wines like the Chardonnay, that you can taste in a beautiful surrounding. An absolute recommendation for a day trip.
Babylonstoren is absolutely amazing. They thought of every single detail. Walking in the garden makes you want to try out the delicious food at the Greenhouse or Babel. The scent room, the Butcher, the wine tasting, ... Stunning experience and definitely one of the top 5 places Ive visited in the world.
Stunning gardens with rugged mountains in the background. Around 20 Rand per adult entrance to the gardens. Very good wine tasting and excellent service. Could easily spend a few hours here wandering through the estate. Highly recommend, and I would love to return for a Wednesday night dinner at the Bakkery.
Beautiful place to visit. Different areas for you to observe and take photos in. Absolutely beautiful place
The gardens are amazing. It was an absolute treat to visit here. I will definitely be coming back again and recommend to anyone considering visiting.
Incredible gardens and greatly efficient staff all around. Thanks, a wonderful experience
Simply amazing
Enjoyed it very much. Great view and a lot of detail has been put into the place to make it something special from the rest
The best place ever
Absolutely my favorite wine estate in South Africa! Could easily and happily spend a full day here walking the property and gardens, trying the restaurants, and shopping at the farm shop! A must visit!
Beautiful, relaxing soul inspiring retreat. Perfect afternoon getaway for some great quality time with the family, friends or loves ones
Beautiful and very diverse wine estate. It felt like visiting a botanical garden in the sense of flora diversity. A fee of 30 RAND is paid at the entrance per car (group). They also have a souvenir shop that offers wines, home furniture, gourmet foodies (honey, biltong, etc) and of course wine. They also have a restaurant, a cafe, and a spa for day visitors. It is a perfect place to stroll around on a nice day and chill with family or friends.
No matter the weather, this place is truely incredible! The gardens are inspiring with so many opportunities to take beautiful pictures. We had a meal at the family friendly restaurant GreenhouseMost of the farm fresh ingredients are sourced from the farm.If you are in the area,do yourself a favour and pop in... you will not regret.Lovely memories...
This wine estate is exceptionally well maintained and has something for everyone.: the glasshouse restuarant served fresh, warm scones of light texture with preserve and clotted cream or yoghurt with grated biltong. These were really outstanding! We enjoyed cappuchino with the scones served in a Covid friendly drop box at each table from which each seated person could help themselves - an excellent way to limit the number of hands touching each order. Highly recommended estate to visit!
An absolutely wonderful and beautiful place to visit for all and any. There are lovely routes to walk along, many different plants to glance at, and of course amazing food and wine to accompany a great outing. Highly recommend the wine tasting here as they serve truly terrific wines from all over, and the coffee shop by the healing garden serves lovely lunches to keep you energized during your stay! Not to mention, staff are helpful and polite and make a huge effort to ensure a pleasant experience! The gift shops and scented room contain lovely spa and wellness products, although Ill be honest, I was there for the wine and therefore had that as my highlight by far! If you visit babylonstoren you will not be disappointed!
Absolutely stunning 😍
This is such a lovely wine farm to visit. There is wine tasting and a scent room where you can make bath salts and buy natural beauty products. Take a walk in the beautiful garden (book a head for a tour.) There are 2 restaurants and lovely shops on the estate. Great for kids as well.
This is possibly my favourite place in South Africa. I would go so far as to say that I would make the journey back from the UK to South Africa even just to visit Babylonstoren. The gardens are immaculately laid out with all kinds of fruits and vegetables; an apiary; walled mulberry garden and beautiful water features. The shops sell beautiful produce such as cheeses, bread and biltong made on the farm. The greenhouse restaurant serves simple, wholesome, delicious food, 80% of which is sourced from their farm.
A wow farm where you can pick your fruit for free. A nominal entry fee of R20 for adults and R10 for kids makes it a very worthwhile outing. Not only is there a huge amount of fruit trees but also veggies and herbs including spinach, kale, etc.Lots of paths to meander around with a small rivulet with ample space to chill out.Two restaurants, a bakery, wine tasting, cheese making factory, coffee and nuts shop, etc gives visitors ample choices. At the entrance there is a small area with chickens, a Turkey and two donkeys. At the back they have a nursery selling fruit trees, etc.At the pofadder, a covered wood lattice structure, there is a swing that the kids enjoyed. There is ample parking available.
Beautiful gardens and surrounds with knowledgeable guides able to provide insight into the history and the reasons behind the planting of particular plants.Good local baked goods, cheeses, meats and treats.Unfortunately the factory soaps and products are not locally produced, although they do contain local plant extracts.
They have many awards and their wines are good tastes but most surprised thing for me was their tasting price was very inexpensive. It’s amazing taste and price. If you visit South Africa, it’s better to visit here
Was ok. Had a nice deli, bakery and butchery. Had some animals. The garden, river and nursery area was very picturesque. Was nice and relaxing to walk through. Did not have an opportunity to eat at the restaurant so cannot comment on it but Im sure it would have been great.
The garden is a stunning oasis of green with many delightful surprises tucked in between the vegetation, and even though there is an entrance fee it is modest (R20 per adult). The farm store and restaurants have a variety of foods made from the gardens produce. A family-friendly venue with donkeys, chickens and a touch of magic...
Beautiful and it was nice to walk around on the farm, the clivias are awesome too
Absolutely gorgeous! A landscape mastery indeed.
The clouds opened as we arrived. I was only able to visit for a short while. An incredible living art installation not to be missed.
Very beautiful garden with a lot of care and love! Great! The garden is splitted up in different parts you can visit. At the end you can have a cool drink in the restaurant.
My family and i spent 2 days in this magnificent property. Lovely staff! Maybe the best breakfast ever ! It was one of the highlights of our recent trip to South Africa!
A paradise for toddlers and young children. Donkies, chickens, fish, streams, paths and lovely places to explore all round.
Its so easy to lose time here! Take a leisurely stroll through their fruit orchards, vegetable gardens, chamomile lawns, lavender fields and greenhouse. Stock up on luxury fare at the farm stall or pop in for coffee and artisan chocolate. There is a 2mth waiting list to dine at their restaurant so book early.
Just one word - fantastic! It is beautiful and the clivia are about to burst into flower.
Beautiful! Unique!
Wow!! We came here for a wedding and everything was perfect!! Fantastic venue with amazing views, lovely gardens etc. The food they serve are from the farm, really fantastic!! Their rooms are to die for!
Yoy can get lost here. Truly a days outing, so come early
Loved the place. Need to come back again. Great place to take kids.
Always a great visit. Love the various gardens and of course the tea and scones. Missed the Clivias this year
So calm...so beautiful...nature at its best!!
We spent a fantastic day walking through the Clivia garden. The rest of the huge garden was also gorgeous. We also enjoyed a peaceful lunch at one of the restaurants in the garden. Good food and great service. We will be back!
Good food and service at the tearoom, and beautiful gardens to walk through.
Wonderful day visit. There is so much to see and do. Wonderful shops with organic produce of the highest quality, the choice is endless. The shops with home decor are my favourite and the natural cotton bkankets/throws are such value for money the quality is exceptional. I now have 3 of them 😍 I havent even started on the wine tasting and platters, probably the best in the Paarl area!
Very cozy wine tasting room with floor to ceiling windows with great views, delicious wines, and tasty small plates to pair. Their shipping to the US is very reasonable, which is a big plus when compared to other wineries we visited.
Absolutely beautiful place. The plants are amazing, the staff are kind and helpful and there are random chickens and turkeys roaming around, all of which are super chilled. Animals also seen during my visit: ducks, donkeys, and a cute turtle.
Great experience especially if you are a gardener. Beautifully maintained and well organized. Staff not as friendly and helpful as I would have expected them to be. Some very unusual and unique vegetables grown.
Very nice atmosphere for leisurely Sunday, disappointed that the queue for the restaurant was 1 hour and the other restaurant option you need to book 1 month Im advance. Otherwise a nice place to visit
Amazing outside venue. Beautiful experience! Fresh fruit and huge open space!
