We had an incredible afternoon at Cafe Gannet. We started at Cape Saint Blaize for a gin tasting and that was such an incredible experience and the gin room is do beautiful. We then went across for dinner and had the snoek spring roll as a starter and it was out of this world!!!! My partner had the cod and I had the salmon pasta for mains and my pasta was incredible but my word - the cod!!!! If anyone goes and doesnt know what to get. Ask them if their line fish for the day is cod and if yes GET THAT!!!

Stunning spot, really enjoyed it. The seafood is really very good. I took my husband here for his birthday and it was a hit. Stunning ambience and the service was phenomenal. We bought a birthday cake along but it was plain white; the waitress whisked it off to the kitchen for us and when we got it back it was spruced up with strawberries, sparklers, chocolate shavings and more. It looked fantastic and we felt so special. They really went the extra mile. Great for a special occasion.

Whats sad about the current day Gannet is that only the name remains. The number of menu offerings are seriously reduced.The food quality isnt nearly as good, and the service is lukewarm. Prices are really high.

I just enjoyed the most delicious Oxtail accompanied with great red wine and a cozy fire. Best music! Utter joy. What an amazing and safe experience! Cannot wait for my next visit.

Food really nice but the Gelato was not real authentic Gelatot not cream at all......experience was not pleasant....

Would have given it a 5 but could not get over the price of their small prawns which was not even THAT great. Also the salmon, in my opinion, is overpriced and then to after specifically asked, to not get the food cooked the way we wanted.Other than that the other food was great. The service was very good and the location and atmosphere is awesome. I still rate them one of the best seafood restaurants in Mosselbay though. I will be back and will review my score.

This restaurant/Oyster bar is organised efficiently and the staff still manages to take the time to make sure you are well served and happy with your dish or whatever. Food quality is excellent and for children there is a buffet so they dont have to wait for the order to arrive. Well worth the wait if you have to and the waiting time they gave was realistic

Celebrated a birthday and the staff were so welcoming and generous enough to deck the table beautifully as well as organize an entire chocolate cake for us for a friends special day. Absolutely blown away and we are so thankful for the generosity. To top it off, the food was out of this world, thank you cafe gannet & staff.

Wonderful gem hidden in Mossel BayLet us start with the food and drinks. The have a great drinks selection, all kinds of different wines and proper cocktails too. Oh and the food, of course, was divine, was fantastic, was indulgent. There are so many words to describe the amazing food. You will definitely not be sorry to eat seafood at Cafe Gannet. Just awesome.The atmosphere is great, Cafe Gannet is actually quite fancy, but you cant see that from the outside, they are a little hidden with their brick walls and native fishing decorations. But once inside it all changes, you actually forget that you are in Mossel Bay.The service was good, our waitress kept us informed of the status of our food and was there when we needed her.The one thing that bothered us a lot was that we informed them that it was a special evening, a birthday. We told them when we made the reservations, we told them when we phoned to check the reservation on the day and we told the waiter as we sat down. She even thanked us for informing her. Brilliant views of the bay area from a beautiful setting in the lush green garden.. Unbeatable atmosphere, in settings that vary from a tranquil garden to stylish cocktail bar, or semi-formal dining rooms. Wait staff are friendly, service is good, pizzas are great...definitely the best in the Mossel Bay area!

At the suggestion of my Airbnb host, I had the lamb curry at Cafe Gannet. MY GOODNESS😍🍛🤤 The spiciness of the dish is just right; not too overwhelming that you cant taste the food and not too underwhelming that you have to put an inconceivable amount of salt just to introduce SOME taste in your food! If youre a curry lover like me, dont leave Mosselbay without trying this meal out! 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Once again, Jessica and Cafe Gannet have stepped up to the plate! A call at 08h45 to put together a delicious platter for 4 PAX collected from then at 09h45. They never let me down and are always happy to assist. Thank you Jessica and thank you to the breakfast chef who pulled off the impossible.

We loved Cafe Gannet. A lively and very busy restaurant. A wonderful ambiance. With cosy indoor seating or outside seating with beautiful views. A lovely cocktail bar and a delicious variety of artisan drinks. Food is absolutely delicious. The Indian battered hale with a scrumptious coconut curry sauce is so yummy. The artistic and variety of sushi is as yummy. A lovely family restaurant with an outdoor area and jumping castle for the kiddies. Last but not least the delicious desserts are so good. For the Gin enthusiast there is a Gin school, where you can create your own unique Flavoured Gin.

Ive eaten here before on numerous occasions, this was a quick stop in on my 40th and it never disappoints

We had Dinner twice here and I wont say it was Great but it was pretty ok. But the presentation of their food was amazingWe had Pizzas and Pasta here and I can tell you for sure we ordered wrong. This place is famous for sea food and we ordered wrong here.But ambience and the Staff was very good and super friendly. They even allowed our Guide to prepare Food for our Group as most of us were Indian vegetarians and had not had proper Indian food for long.

The setting is beautiful with an amazing view of the ocean. Close to many historical sites. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The staff are professional and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is good, one of the classiest ones in Mosselbaai probably. It is a bit more expensive than average though. The food was good but not exceptional at all. Maybe even a bit disappointing. Overall not much to complain about. Good place, good atmosphere, if you have the money, go!

This might possibly be the best restaurant i have ever been too. If i could rate 6 stars i would rate it 7 stars. It was truly amazing from start to finish. The service was spectacular, the place looks amazing with modern sea side upper class decor. The menu has alot of variety and everything i tasted was top class. This must be a contender for the best restaurant in town. Highly recommended from me!

I think we caught them on one of their not to good days. They had a special menu,we ordered from there and they could not supply. But they made up for it.

Best food I have ever had. Great atmosphere . I was surrounded by smiles and many different languages.....absolutely amazing. A great experience. Only down side is it is a bit costly.

The place is very beautiful. There isnt accurate information on Google there. When I googled the number and called as I needed a place to work for a few hours I was told that there might not be plugs and that it was full. When I arrived it was rather empty and was able to find a table with a plug. Further more I arrived around 10h30 and someone tell me that breakfast was served from 7 till 10 am and that food would only be served at middah. This I was not told when I called. After a few minutes and having ordered some tea I was told that the chef could make me a sandwich. I recieved a dry egg and bacon. I stayed and worked till 12h00 around 11h40 families started coming in and were giving menus. One gentleman who had gotten there a lil after me had also gotten a menu and ate a burger and fries. So I can not comment on the food. The place is lovely and I suppose the service is good depending on external factors.

My Mom and Dad had lunch there on Mother’s Day and had the best experience!! The food was delicious and the service outstanding!!

Relaxed atmosphere, Beautiful view . Food that went passed was well presented and portions was of normal size. Ordered the layered apple crumble , presentation was good and thats were it stopped. Once you start eating it turns into a slushy mess. Did not find it tastefull at all. Waitress did introduce herself and no name tag. Found pricing a bid high for locals. Close to Dias Museum and had the post tree there which added a bit of history.

Enjoyed a cosy evening with good food on Saturday evening of Easter Weekend

We spent a lovely early evening watching the sunset over the Bay from the bar and deck at Cafe Gannet. The bartender was friendly and mixed us two delicious Pina Colada’s - one virgin and the other one the full monty. We were also served our meal in the bar where we were sheltered from the wind but we could still make the most of the view. My chicken livers was really scrumptious. My partner did not like the pizza base much but enjoyed the toppings. We have been to this award winning restaurant many times over the years during our visits to Mosselbay and can recommend it whole heartedly.

Good seafood restaurant in mossel bay. We had various of the kingklip dishes and they were all excellent. Also the starters (spinach and feta parcel, duck spring rolls, and Asian prawns from what I remember).We were there quite late in the evening so didnt see any of the views, but can imagine that they would add to the setting if you are there for lunch or an early dinner.

The best seafood/sushi/ food you will find in mossel bay... The prices vary so you can get light meals for quite a decent price or you can go fine dining... The owner Gareth is very passionate about his restaurant as he is also the chef... So every meal is well prepared...

Delicious seafood...🍣 Sushi for starters, Encrusted Kinglip Casserole and A dish (not sure of name) with crayfish,fish,calamari,prawns,muscles with a lovely sauce and crumbed calamari as a side dish. Lovely cocktails...Pina Colada and The Julius...ha ha ha...some good comedy! The vibe is perfect and set next to the ocean...a definite return for my girlfriend,Pashy and myself...

This is a lovely restaurant, a bit classier than the average Mosselbay restaurants. The staff are friendly and they have fantastic service. The only downside is that they only offer 2 vegetarian dishes. I only had 2 choice to choose from, which isnt ideal.Other than that I would gladly recommended the Gannet.

The service and Atmosphere is just wonderful...The food is beyond delicious and they have the best at everything Ive ever tasted before... Its just divine.
