What a place. So different, so memorable. I loved that we could take off our shoes to just walk around in the sand while actually being in a restaurant at the same time. Also, the dynamics of how food is served and eaten is so different and fun! We didnt use knives and forks, we used mussel shells! I personally have never liked fish, but at De Vette Mossel I dined on fish as if I was a fishmonger. The snoek was my favourite dish. Also, the pot bread was to die for.

Amazing atmosphere, place. Wonderful view. Food is absolutely to die for. If you want a relaxed afternoon/evening with your toes in the sand, this is the perfect place for you and your family. Kids stay busy for the whole time.

Just go! The best experience and yummiest seafood while enjoying great company. The kids kept themselves busy at the kid’s area and olaying in the sand. Be sure to make a booking.

This place really lives up to its policy. Eat as much as you like or can. Been here twice and will always go back. All foods freshly prepared infront of you. The bread is devine but be warned. Its so good you will want more and then you wont be able to eat the other dishes. 13 dishes to choose from and dont forget the coffee and rooibos tea afterwards. You are welcome to bring your own drinks but there is a fully stocked bar and cocktails and jam jars available.

Sea Food at its best. A feast of the senses. Smell, see, touch and taste. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience and atmosphere, great food and cocktails. Clean bathrooms and a very large bathroom for the disabled visitor. Access into the dining area is very difficult for a wheelchair, the hostess does offer staff to assist with pulling and pushing the wheelchair over the sand but it is a challenging situation, getting to the restroom is also a challenge as there is one high step to get over at the end of the ramp.

What a lovely afternoon spent eating great food in a relaxed atmosphere with some special friends. 7 course meal consisted of fresh bread & jam, muscles in shell, muscle stew, seafood pot with veg side, beef potjie and veg, fruit, coffee and koeksusters. Didnt add the crayfish, prawns or line fish - maybe bext time!Well worth the time and money.

Where oh where to start. This is where you go in your fat pants to sit and chill with friends and family. And why is say fat pants. You are gonna need every cm extra space with all those omw out of this world food. Multiple courses complement each other.

All you can eat seafood buffet. It is made over hot coles. Very nice variety of seafood and if you manage to avoid the potbread table and make it to the calamari steaks it is definately worth it. It is also at a very nice venue with play area for the kids. It also has a area for weddings Booking should be made beforehand to avoid dissapointment. Would go again.

If you love eating seafood barefoot in the sea sand then this is the place to be. Went there the first time in 2010 and got married there in 2011. And was there again this weekend... magical atmosphere and the best seafood in the Garden Route.

A very rustic setting with a festive atmosphere. The all-you-can-eat seafood was generous although there was no cutlery to eat with. Guests had to eat all the courses with mussel shells which lost its novelty after the third course. Bring your own drinks but dont forget your wine glasses!

De Vette Mossel, offers one of the few beach restaurant experiences,with eat as much as you can,freshly baked bread and seafood prepared on the coals in the breathtakingly beautiful Garden Route.For us this was the perfect venue to relax with family and friends we couldnt see due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions and to celebrate our daughters 21st birthday!

Only go there if all persons in your party eat fish. Not the best fish types but very tasty. Important to pace yourself and not have large portions at the beginning especially the hot bread. Nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately I have to express my dissatisfaction at this place.This is the second bad experience that I have encountered at De Vette Mossel Grootbrak.Our children booked as a group and wanted to add 3 further guests. We were informed that the only way to add guests is by doing it online which we promptly did and we received confirmation of our payment.When they arrived they were informed the payment is not showing and they had to pay in full again. Management was unhelpful and rude on the phone.

Very nice atmosphere, and they really capture the sea theme very good. Maybe its all part of the theme, but the sand did start to get to me in the end. People found it difficult to sit comforteble while the chairs dug deep into the sand. Other than that, food was great! Hostess was amazing and music was good.
