Well where do I begin on my series of Asian restaurants. This one is definitely up there with the best of them!! And for those that follow me know I visit alot of Asian restaurants!! Food is absolutely amazing here I really recommend the Ramen and be prepared as you will probably take 2 meals to finish as the portion is huge. Very friendly staff which is always the biggest plus for a place as you want to enjoy the experience. Will be back many more times..... Easy recommend 👌

My first experience of Japanese cuisine. I enjoyed it very much. Having my food prepared before my very eyes by a talented chef was quite the show. Id recommend you try it sometime.

The food was nice, the service was good.It was not too crowded, there was space to move.Theres no variety available for non alcoholic drinkers, they only have Mocktails and soft drinks, non alcoholic wines and beers would be a great start to the menu.

The food never disappoints. Great vibe with the chefs cooking in front of you. Love the fried rice, have it with the lamb. Overall a great experience 10/10

Great experience having the food prepared before your very eyes. However the dish was bland and unadventurous as one would have expected.Very strange choice of music, playing western cowboy music. Didnt expect that for a high end restaurant, let alone owned by the legendary Oskido.Our waiter was pretty avarage. The manager also selects who he wants to engage with and purposefully ignored our table.Ive certainly had a better and cheaper experience at other Asian restaurants than at Daruma.

I always enjoy the food there. Monday are normally the best with a live band. Their food is fresh

Not sure if Daruma is under new management since they open a new branch in Jozi.yes, I am happy I finally can order tamago nigiri; and the quality of tamago hasnt changed, but rice is on slightly firm siden its changed from a traditional high-end proper Japanese restaurant, into a fusion hip teppanyaki sushi bar...service is great for sure, but pls consider sukiyaki and unadon as hidden menu; since I introduced them to my wife, she just wouldnt drop the issue...

Really tasty Teppanyaki and G&T’s. It was an awesome choice for my birthday dinner.

The restaurant is beautiful and well lit and the experience of having your food cooked infront of you was quite lovely.The taste of the food however was pretty bland. We had about 4 starters. The deep fried chicken, chicken wings, nagiri tempura prawn and seasoned beef. All these were below average. We also had the tepanyaki hake and chicken and asked for them add Chilli but everything seemed to have the same flavour from starters to main.We also had the deep fried ice cream which was good.The service was very good and waiter very attentive and friendly.Overall an average experience. Food was disappointing and will not be visiting again due to this.

Was definitely not an authentic teriyaki experience, the R700 odd seafood platter for two came with 2 mussels lol, we had to beg the manager more. Overpriced I wont go back.

Good; We recently grabbed some sushi here but didnt have the time to try out the teppanyaki bar. Overall the decor is nice, the staff was friendly, the service was great, the pricing was well-priced. Well certainly give it a try again soon to explore more of the menu.

OMW the food is delicious!! A bit noisy as the acoustics is not the best due to the style of the place. The staff were friendly and they are very serious about hygiene. Definitely going back again!!

For Sunday lunch we thought we try out Daruma, it was all we expected, fresh menu with amazing experience of being entertained by chefs making your food in front of you really good meals, good service as well, look forward to dinner there soon!

The food is prepared in front of you as per true tepanyaki. The downside is that there are no theatrics like the branch in Durban. The food is below average and very underwhelming. I will suggest that they get some time to settle in on the opening issues.

The service was quite poor, our waitress did not know anything about the menu at all. So no one could recommend what was best to order. I ordered the lamb and the majority of the portion was just fat which was confusing for the price paid. Unsatisfying visit.

The staff are so helpful! The manager Ayanda went above and beyond all the requests I had. The food is great. The venue is perfect for a good quiet lunch or a dinner with friends. I am so impressed!

High-end restaurants are known for charging more for higher quality offerings and an unbeatable dining experience. I agree that there is nothing wrong with that, however when your experience or expectations are not met it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Daruma oskido unfortunately did not satisfy our taste buds. It was my first time trying out the restaurant in Gauteng with an expectation that the quality of food would be the same standard as in Kzn. So I casually strolled in today late afternoon, greeted by friendly staff in what seemed to be a picturesque setting, it was quiet as one would expect during the trying times we are faced with covid-19 hence we opted to order take out for the very reason, I expressed that I would like to have my order out in 30 minutes which i must admit was well received. My order consisted of a mixed seafood meal with vegetables, noodles, a portion of squid heads, calamari and egg fried rice, salad and sushi to go. Quite enthusiastic to try out the food we unpacked the food dished out and eagerly proceeded to try this magnificent meal. I have eaten many times at Daruma in kzn and was delighted that it opened in Gauteng, I never got around to trying out the restaurant so today I felt it apt because I received some celebratory news. To our great disappointment the salmon was overcooked, prawns overcooked, calamari tasted like rubber, the food lacked flavor and life! The sushi was average. The squid heads were dry and hard. The sentiment shared after the meal was that we should have ordered from Ocean basket and paid half the price and we would have thoroughly enjoyed our meal. What an absolute waste of money! I was utterly disappointed in the quality of the meals especially when we paying premium prices.
