Lovely and cozy setting. Love the sand between your toes. I was really hoping I could give a 5 star review after reading previous reviews, but unfortunately I cannot give more than 3 stars. Our service was quite slow and inattentive while the restaurant was not really busy. I was looking forward to an amazing fish dish, but my calamari tubes were chewy and overcooked and the prawn was tasteless. The fish was fresh and tasty though. I was also looking forward to a cold one with my meal, but unfortunately no alcohol is available.

Holy Mackerel! Boom fish joke. No mackerel on the menu here. Fantastic local fish and chips joint that brings much more to the table. Everything we had was great - calamari, mussels in cream sauce, hake/kingklip fried and chips. BYOB so bring some bubbles and make the best of it. Cant say Im an expert in SA fish and chips having only sampled at 3-4 places between here and Cape Town, but this was a clear winner.

Weve been regular customers for many years. The rustic venue and reasonable, good food with bring your own alcohol have kept us going back. On re-opening after the Covid shut down however their prices escalated horrifically. We noticed soon after this that they were offering 20% discounts on sit down, but not on fresh fish. We recently had visitors from Joburg who wanted to revisit there. I was not well so they went to collect some take-out calamari and fish & chips. Even he took a double turn at how little calamari he got for his R84 (x2). I was mortified!A great pity but we will not be back there in a hurry, especially not when so many other local rsstaurants are offering really good specials to attract back their local customers.

This place has a friendly service , but the food was quite greasy. Awful music, it had quite an older crowd here - I’m Guessing that’s why this choice of music for older generation. They had some fresh fish but majority was frozen. So make sure you check with the waiter what’s fresh if you prefer fresh to frozen. Fish came quite tough and overcooked sadly. Disappointing.

Ordered takeaway at 6;15 way before kitchen close cut off at 7 ...was told to come at 7, I was there just before only to be given someone elses order which I was about to drive off with... I handed wrong order back and expected to receive the correct one... Half an hour later I received my order!... It was clear that it was forgotten to be placedVery rushed and stressed waitress who was not coping with the amount of orders! 🤔... I even tried to calm her down and explain how rushing causes mistakes... But then my dragon mode stepped in when I was left in the empty lonely car park waiting! 😕Visibly irritated I was handed my food and no apologies made... Just that our order was largeGot home to dry calamari, undercooked tempura prawns and OK fishBut by that stage I had lost my appetiteSuch a great place... Do hope management sort it out...

Don’t think twice about going - GO! This was our surprise find on our visit to Knysna. The food is excellent - fresh and simply cooked to allow the quality of the produce to shine. Staff were all welcoming and friendly - and Langston, who served us on all three (yes, THREE!) of our visits was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our only regret? Not staying here long enough to go a fourth time!! If you plan to go, do book to avoid disappointment- they are always full!!

We had a great time here with our daughters. The food is delicious, tasty, FRESH and attention to detail refreshing. Truly enjoyed the food.!! However, to make our visit memorable and relaxing, customer service needs to be looked at and refined. We dont want to hear staff complaining or shouting when addressing each other. They do this in plain sight of customers. We are wanting an experience where WE, the customers can relax and unwind and where the staff are attentive, but unobtrusive. We will definitely return and hopefully the service will be on par with the quality of the food served.

Extremely disappointed! After booking an early table, we were seated just before 5pm and rudely informed our table had another reservation for 7pm. We came prepared with our booze and were rudely informed soft drinks are sold. As it was my first visit I was unaware of what is allowed. The meals are pricey and if I am to pay for what I want, I want to enjoy every bite and not be rushed to eat and get out in time for the next reservation. Based on the above I walked out and ate elsewhere. Sorry guys, quality service and friendly staff are important to me.

Have you ever had a meal that made you believe in God? This restaurant makes you believe that the fish on your plate were created by the Lord God himself, to be there. The fish is so fresh that you get the impression they crawled out of the ocean, over a hot pan and nestled comfortably on your plate. The flavours will bring your tongue to life and silence even the most talkative of people. The slight crunch and flavour explosion will bring a tear to your eye. That leaves the chips..... Cooked to such perfection. Light and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. None of these sloppy chips that other places serve. No. These chips are the perfect accompaniment to the freshest of fish. Lightly spiced so no salt is required, and served with a creamy tartare sauce that rivals any Ive tasted before. Be prepared to spend the whole afternoon here because youre going to want to spend a good ten minutes savouring every mouthful.

I was expecting quite a bit more from a restaurant that was recommend by a few people. Waiters were slow, food took quite a while, and extremely overpriced for what you get. Avoid the Hake as it is extremely dry. When you usually get a salad as a side you expect a bit more, it is as they have counted out 1 piece of lettuce and 1 piece of onion.

Expect perfectly cooked food and a jovial, relaxed atmosphere. Freshline Fisheries doesnt have its own alcohol license, but you are allowed to bring your own and waiters will be happy to open it for you. That is poor customer service and that is not how you treat any individual.Dissapointed.....Sharpen your teams customers service skills.
