Where to begin! Not only is this my favourite brunch spot but I also used this venue for my wedding reception lunch. I cannot thank Joseph and his team enough. Thank you for going out of your way to make sure that not only is the food out of this world but also to make sure thaty decor, cake and everything else is nothing short of perfect.You guys are absolutely amazing! I can only give praises to the attentive waitress(Audrey) and manager(Joseph).I highly recommend to celebrate any special ocassion here. The food is delicious and well presented. We even received complementary desert for our wedding anniversary.

You can never go wrong at anyone of Olives and plates restaurants. Just amazing service with fantastic food. We had my sisters wedding at the venue and it werent off perfectly. Thank you to everyone for hosting us.

I’ve never had a bad dish on the menu. My favourite meal is the Parmesan panko chicken fillets. Excellent venue and lovely to sit outside on a nice sunny day. We’ve also had functions there and it’s a stunning location with great food, drinks and vibes.

Went here for Mothers day breakfast with my son. My dish was a real work of art and delicious as well. Had the open rye bacon sandwich. Was so filling. Had a slice of chocolate cake for takeaway which was a delight as well. Will definitely visit again.

Great, relaxed atmosphere. Food is very good. Well balanced flavours. Their meat and poultry dishes are juicy retaining their flavour. Outside seating area is well positioned. Update: 18/07/2021: During this pandemic well positioned restaurant with an awesome open area with generous space inbetween each table. Fresh air and warm sunshine to enjoy. Alternatively inside is also adequately spaced for more of an intimate feel.

Food served was delicious and resembled artworks. Love the look of the building and restaurant.

We had our year-end brunch at Olives and Plates (Wits) this week.Most elegant and delicious deconstructed chicken salad Ive ever had.Ill definitely come back to try the breakfast, desserts and everything else on their menu.

The food was amazing. Presented beautifully and very tasty as well. Service was a bit slowly, but that could be due to them being very busy because of graduation season. The cakes were also delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Olives and Plates at WITS always feels like a hidden gem no matter how many times weve been and despite how popular it clearly is. Booking is recommended to ensure youll get a spot in this great eatery. Food is well worth the slightly steeper price and the service is great. But its the overall setting, atmosphere and music (recorded) which makes the moment.

Nestled on Wits Universitys campus - Olives & Plates shines in its Capetownian glory. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a vintage vibe and the service is excellent! Thanks to safe parking and friendly staff our company breakfast was off to a great start.The staff made sure that no glasses were empty and not a dirty plate was seen, with bacon in abundance and sweet treats that soothe the soul, we had a great time!The food was excellent and I will certainly be back in my personal capacity for a meal. Highly recommended whether you want a business function, wedding, party or just a lovely brunch.

Good food and fantastic location. Service is very slow especially as there was a wedding at the same time. The waitress was nowhere to be found. We waited 45 minutes for breakfast..not well run! But good food!

Lovely lunch. Apps and Mains solidly good. BUT-- Desserts are a MUST the cakes and cheesecakes are outrageously good. The pastry chef Nanzi is unbelievably talented. The desserts are truly extraordinary.

A large and great outdoor space for dining, very safe too as its on the university campus. The indoor space is stunning, classic, and also spacious. Both indoor and outdoor dining spaces cater very comfortably for people who worry about covid. Always loved the food out the kitchen here since my own varsity days, and if you are a cake addict, the cake table will have you circling around it and coming back for more! (I would only say if you order pasta, order the spaghetti type because the plates dont hold the pene type as nicely and as quantiful)... Overall, I have always loved Olives and Plates!!!

Olives and plates is an amazing restaurant. So much care is taken into setting the venue, making and presenting the food and treating customers. The restaurant is surrounded by the beautiful campus of Wits and the atmosphere is really relaxing and beautiful. The coffees were very nice and Chai latte made to perfection. The vanilla milkshake was exquisite. The food was excellent. The presentation was excellent and the price was excellent. The waitrons were kind and helped set up for a celebration. There is nothing possible to complain about except that there is no signing in the campus, so it can be difficult to find. But thats easily fixable.Wonderful experience that everyone should have. Treat yourself and visit Olives and plates.

Absolutely love this place... scenic, great food and vibe!

Set in a Cape Dutch-style building on the Wits campus, the restaurant is a little oasis. The menu is large with a good variety. The food is tasty and presented beautifully on the plate, and the prices are very reasonable.

Great place to relax outdoors. Food is always good.Open 7am to 4pm, 7days a week.

Beautiful restaurant. Very expensive for what you get, fancy set plates with impractical garnishes and additional plates. Was not impressed with roast vegetables that were raw and covered in oil and dry chicken that had no flavour (thank goodness my sister gave me her tomato sauce). The staff were very nice. Definitely, wont be returning for the food.

Stunning....never dissapoint

Great setting, great coffee, friendly staff, had a stunning breakfast.Only issue might be security at Wits gate who is rather intimidating when telling patrons that you are supposed to have been for Covid screening before you can be admitted.

Considering the location at Wits Club, if you’re coming here for lunch, parking might be tight. The food is delicious. If you’re looking for comfort food, the pastas are good - can recommend the ravioli. The salads are also beautifully presented. The cake selection is excellent and worth sharing if you don’t have space after a meal.

Food was excellent, but the service was rather poor. Very slow. Waitron seemed to have comprehension difficulties! Asked for a table mat as my plate was sliding all over the table. NEVER got it.

Loved the outside setting, also observing social distancing. The service was great, our waiter was attentive and had good energy. One can imagine that it cant be easy serving people with a mask on the entire time and it is appreciated. The food, as usual, didnt disappoint. My steak was made as ordered, served with sweet potato chips (a bit oily) and gorgonzola sauce (yum). My daughters salmon was also made to perfection - seared medium rare - most restaurants get this wrong. The tiramisu was light and airy, with just the right amount of coffee. Disappointed that the cheesecake was finished (apparently one customer bought the entire thing after tasting the slice they ordered😂). For our first time going out since the lockdown, it was well worth it.
