Probably one of the top Italian restaurants in the world. The porcini mushroom starter and the artichoke starter with the bread that comes with it was one of the best starters I’ve ever eaten. The restaurant is in a great location and is really nice inside and there is great outdoor seating. The service was amazing and the food arrived quickly. 10/10

Pronto is as part of Joburg as our skyline. This is my favourite Italian restaurant and if I didnt know better I would have sworn they have a little Italian Nonna cooking up a storm in their kitchen.The decor is stunning, with fairy lights outside and a cozy interior. They recently expanded their deli, selling the most beautiful aprons and delicacies such a dried porccini mushrooms, dried pastas and ready cooked meals.

Pronto is a fairly small family style restaurant and had been around for many years. Still offering excellent service and well prepared good food with a variety of meals to choose from. The restaurant offers both inside and outside seating all with a lovely ambience. A great place to relax. Enjoy a drink in the bar area, sip a cocktail outside, do an early breakfast or dine in style inside. Plenty safe parking available. You can not go wrong with Pronto. Do remember to book as they are quite popular with locals as well as visitors.

Absolutely beautiful food. They didnt have a coffee milkshake on the menu but then proceeded to make the most gorgeous coffee milkshake ever - something they should definitely add to the menu! It was divine.

12 mins later. Cold crosant and cold chesse just slapped together. Very disappointing when all you want to have is sumthing yummy and warm. Not the 1st time this is happening over there breakfast.

The place was just okay. Its quiet and has a good summer vibe feel to it. The service was good. I dont know if we missed something but the food was not something to write home about. It was decent though. The prosciutto and mozzarella starter was fine (the bread was really good). The mains were just okay (beef in spicy tomato sauce with linguine and beef spezzatino with mash and polenta). The experience just did not live up to our expectations.

Weve heard good things, but were actually disappointed. We kept being told that the food will arrive in 2 minutes, its almost ready etc. and after the host of our group eventually got up and went to the back himself to check whats going on, we got our food an hour later. The restaurant wasnt even that busy due to lockdown restrictions. Everyone had to then gobble their meals down to leave and be home before curfew hits.The lasagne that was ordered was evidently rushed because the lasagne sheets were undercooked and chewy, whilst the cheese on top was burnt.Highlight was the peanut butter milkshake and foccacia bread starter.

Such a great restaurant and deli. Food was delicious and service was efficient and friendly. Will definitely be going back! Definitely worth taking an extra jacket in winter in case you are seated outside.

Really nice restaurant, not too loud even though its big, food was amazing. Milkshakes were also very good. A bit pricey but definitely worth it because of the taste and experience.

I stopped here for a late lunch, and really was not expecting too much.I had an exceptional meal of a Filet al Fungi with a side salad.The steak was just an excuse for the sauce. The sauce had to be the best mushroom sauce I have ever tasted. I savoured every drop of the sauce, and was quite sad when I too my last mouthful. The steak was perfectly cooked and was butter soft in my mouth.This has to be the best steak with a sauce that I have experienced.The restaurant is tucked away in a cosy corner of The Colony shopping centre, and I highly recommend a visit.The ambience, service and whole experience ticks all the boxes on my list. A special mention to Eunice, who was superb, her service was attentive, friendly and very professional.Well done I will be back again.

What a lovely experience. I heard about pronto from family and decided to have a quick lunch. The restaurant is lovely. I had the meatballs spaghetti which was perfect and a tiramisu which was amazing. The service was excellent and I left very happy. Everyone at pronto seem to take pride in the product.

Had a great Salad and good service. Outside can be a bit noisy with the traffic on Jan Smuts.

I walked in, and saw a sign that said best italian restuarant in Jozi, or something to that effect... I scoffed... But then I got my order taken... Im a big man, so I ordered 2 meals... thinking they would be small stingy meals and even after 2 meals I would still walk away hungry... Boy oh Boy was I wrong... Firstly, super friendly waiter Bheki served us, and explained the menu clearly and accurately... And then the food came... and I died... It was the best Italian food I have ever eaten in my life!!! I was stunned at the portion size... I only got about halfway through my second meal when I had to throw in the towel and give up to the fullness of my tummy... Holy Moly... These guys deserve to have that sign up as you enter... They deserve to have that sign up all over Jozi... A man in love... thats what I am

I have been going to Pronto from when it first opened. I always had excellent service and became friendly with all the staff over the years. Unfortunately this last Sunday my booking was for 2pm. And sadly I have to say the service was bad. I had to keep calling the watron. I was left sitting no one paying any attention. This was a first for me. But change of staff etc.

Such delicious Italian food! Warm, hearty meals that are generous and leave you feeling like an Italian grandmother slaved over the stove for hours. Authentic flavours and knowledgeable staff. A no brainer if you looking for fantastic pizza and pasta. There are also a lot of vegetarian pasta options.

My absolute favourite Italian restaurant in Johannesburg. The pizzas and pastas are mouth-watering. There is something for everyone on the menu. The wine selection is big and affordable. Lovely for a casual lunch or dinner with loved ones. Sit inside for a romantic, calming atmosphere or outside on the courtyard with beautiful fairy lights.

Nice little spot in the Colony Centre. Super friendly staff and service. Above average cappuccino and really well prepared and presented food. Little on the high side price wise but enjoyed it and will go back.

This is a great relaxed but classy venue. Serving some delicious wines, and nice light eating. It is a nice courtyard setting with the option of sitting out on a balcony to the road. Good for a quick coffee , a few glasses of wine or a full dinner out. Nice light and spacious venue with good space flow and atmosphere.

Ordered a pizza with gluten free base but got regular base. I asked the waitress; are you SURE this is gluten free? (It tastes like regular base). Without hesitation she said yes. But, I was skeptical so I left the pizza there and left (didnt wanna take any chances).As I got home later that day, I went on UberEats and ordered a new one. It got cancelled cause they didnt have gluten free base in stock. So, obviously, they served me a regular pizza earlier and then lied about it

Ordered takeaway, and the service when collecting my meal was excellent. Staff obviously passionate and on top of their game. Highly recommend the house special penne with pork and fennel. All the pastas we ordered were excellent. Pizza needed a bit more time in the oven to crisp up, but all around a great meal and well priced.
