Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch which was most enjoyable. Meat was tender and juicy and the crackling crisp and crunchy. Fresh tasty vegetables which werent boiled to death. Will be back.Thank you

If you havent been here you are losing out, the setup is rustic and the vibe is great, the service was very good and the food was outstanding they will be seeing me alot, however make sure that you book ahead.

A definite local in the area. We arrived for an early thursday supper due to Covid curfew. The restaurant was busy and the service was quick and efficient. Food options are rich, home-cooked style and, from what I understand, the menu has not changed in years. Large portion sizes. The locals love it and go their for their favorite dishes.

Just love this place. The food, the wibe, the service.... Definitely a place I would recommend.

Was invited to a friends 60th birthday bash at Moltenos. Absolutely loved this place. Gordon, the owner, prepares all the dishes himself and believe me, the food was excellent. Staff is friendly and the restaurant was packed yet the food came on time and beautifully prepared. Will definitely make Moltenos one of my favourite go to restaurants.

Every single time I eat here I enjoy the meal and vibe. The food is always of great quality and I have never been disappointed. If you are in Onrus I recommend visiting.

I had the tomato based seafood pasta (served with spaghetti?) which was a very generous helping, but lacked the deep tomato taste that I enjoy with pastas. My companion had fish and chips (i think it was kabeljou, as hake was not available). It was well crusted and brown, whilst the inside was still moist and cooked just right.Not fine dining, but definately worth a second visit

The food is fantastic! Cannot wait to go back for the absolute brilliant Hake and veg dish I had for dinner. This place deserves a nomination for one of the best little restaurants in the Hermanus region. Keep it up guys. You are great!!

Generous and delicious helpings of fish and meat cooked in the pizza oven but the veg was burnt. Friday night was very busy and we had to wait over an hour and a half for our main course. Service was slow and the wooden table and benches became quite uncomfortable. Must book or rather go in the week but highly recommended

Lovely atmosphere and generous portions

Good food and friendly service, a bit slow at times. They dont warn if a dish is spicy, so have had a few dishes that were too spicy for me to eat even with a milkshake. Obviously not a problem if you like spicy food.Also spilled a drink because of a hole in the table that was hidden by their table cloth but was still billed for it which I felt was a bit unfair.

I had the spaghetti arabiatta. It wasnt fabulous, needed something. Friend had sole and priced at R220.00 we thought a tad overpriced. Also a little underdone.

The best way to describe this restaurant is the kitchen and the 2 African ladies dressed in their brightly colored uniforms. They cook all the the dishes with passion bit I strongly recommand the lamb shank. An amazing experience.

Great food. Fantastic Sunday roast. Although I didnt have it, it looked sublime and all comments were very positive. I had the pizza oven-baked Kabeljou. Not cheap, but worth every cent. On top of this a complimentary chilli chutney to die for - made in-house. Real Sunday family meal atmosphere. Rest of table had pasta and also good reviews all round. They will see us again. Must book.

First visit and it was GREAT !!

A few friends and I got takeaway pizzas from here because we saw reviews raving about them, however we were thoroughly disappointed. The main problem was the type of cheese used, it was clearly not mozzarella as it had the appearance, taste and texture of Melrose cheese, which was very off putting. The pizzas were also very soggy and mine was completely stuck to the bottom of the box towards the middle.

Moltenos is a restaurant I have been acquainted with since its inception. It is situated in the very agreeable quiet village of Onrus a kilometer west of Hermanus.The owner and his now wife launched their restaurant concept and instantly gained an avid following, which survives to this day. The ambience is in keeping with the tranquil, lay back feel of Western Cape at its best.Don´t get the impression this is too quiet for your tastes. I have some of my most memorable times there. Coupled with the wholesome, flavoursome and beautifully cooked food it is by far one of the most welcoming venues around.It may be construed as just my particular view because of my and my wifes long association with Moltenos. It could be levelled that my views are enhanced by the familiarity with restaurant, friends and familiar ambience. We ll that is undeniableMy friends and I are so familiar with the venue, because the food is so good and so dependable. The staff are friendly and everything combines to offer a memorable experience to one and all at very reasonable prices. Thereby making repeated visits a must.
