Excellent location and setup. Smartly dressed staff and very friendly. Food is good but some portions very small and very over priced. Our waitress disappeared soon after our first order. We had to almost beg other waiters to help us. They gave our waitress messages and food arrived. Our plates and glasses were left on the table long after we finished. Good place to snack and have a drink, but dont come hungry.

The food was delicious, however be aware that the portions may be small for some. The service was very warm and attentive, the mocktails were refreshing, but the star of the show is the view! Will definitely be visiting again :)

Food was a little disappointing and service a scattered. The manager was very receptive to feedback and friendly. The experience just didnt hit the mark. If going during peak times, be aware there are a lot of children swimming in the public tidal pool at the restaurant.

Wow!!! This was easily the best restaurant experience we had in our time in Hermanus!The cocktails were brilliant - super tasty and gorgeous presentation. You’ll only struggle to decide which ones to choose!The food was great - read the menu about Pinchos beforehand and order a few to share as you’ll want to taste everything! I can also definitely recommend the flammkuchen too which was excellent!The setting is simply gorgeous - on a sunny day the water just lights up and you feel like you could be on an island in the Mediterranean! It’s simply spectacular!The service is super friendly and the lady at the “front of house” set the tone from the start with a super friendly and happy welcome - the manager also checked in personally which was a very nice touch!Be aware this spot does not take bookings and is super popular - we arrived 20min before they started seating people (at 11h00) to secure a table. We’d tried the day before and the manager advised we arrive at opening time or to expect a wait of an hour for a table. That would be the only tiny negative of the whole experience and it’s hard to fault them for that!Overall - great food, great cocktails, great setting - I couldn’t recommend Fick’s more!

Arrived shortly before they opened to get a table, as theyre very popular. I can understand why - food and drinks were excellent, service was good, and the view was unmatched.

This is a lovely little spot hidden on the side of the cliff in Hermanus. There is a grannys pool for the kids to occupy themselves with while the adults sit cliff-side and enjoy a lovely refreshing beverage. Food is rather tasty and reasonably priced. It is recommended to make a reservation though, as it can get very busy quickly resulting in a long waiting time

What a breathtaking venue beautifully setup with stunning views of the ocean.Staff was friendly and attentive.Food was average only dish that was tasty was the calamari. Your chicken wings and churros was regrettably was a dismal fail. Room for improvement.

Beautiful setting, great food. The staff are friendly and efficient and there is a great atmosphere. The only issue is the wind, which can make it a bit cold but a jersey and one the the restaurants handy blankets sorts that out. The drinks prices are slightly on the steep side, however the setting provides ample compensation!

Absolutely loved this place. The vibe. The music and even the staff. So grateful that management was hands on. Its not always shown at places but customers really appreciate that, even feel like a special guest. Food was great!!! The views and you even get a blanket if youre getting cold. Pity due to the corona restrictions during my one week visit to Hermanus in October 2020 I couldn`t enjoy a famous sundowner, but I had a nice small talk to one of the staff. We drank a glass of water hoping for better times. Nevertheless I had a great time in Hermanus spotting so many Southern Right whales at Gearings Point, Grotto Beach or along the Cliff Path.

The view is breathtaking! the food is delicious, just be aware that the portions are like tapas..

Love their location, their service and the views from their restaurant... It will be packed after 11h00am so make sure to be there early to get the best seats and views. We went there for cocktails that we enjoyed and the service was great with staff who are willing to serve with a smile on their faces. Just budget well as theyre a bit pricier than normal restaurants but it makes sense because of their location however theyre not too expensive. It gets cold in the evenings because theyre right by the beach but they do provide blankets. Due to the size of the area you may not always get parking close to the entrance but you can park on the street and walk which is not too far. The kids will also absolutely love it playing in the tidal pools or by the rocks. Definitely great for photos too because of their stunning 270° views

Lovely and loud! Cocktails galore and comfortable lounging spots with fabulous pinchos in an idilic setting! The chicken wings are addictive and the Six Dog Gin and blue tonic water was superb. A bit pricey, but worth the experience.

Great place for drinks and a snack - walking the lovely coastal path - with a stop here - Hermanus has sone great places - this is one of them ..... a bit breezy sometimes so take a warm layer 😀😃😄

The setting is magnifecent. Loved every minute their. This gem you cannot miss. Very nice to bring your kids for a swim and to have cocktails and anacks while waiting. There food is very small portions, but each bite is excusit.

We wanted to stop by to experience this spot, but unfortunately the pool was filled with kids shouting and screaming (they were having fun) that we decided to rather leave. Manged to get a few pics, but sad we couldnt stay

We had lunch today and found the food very bland, lacking taste and crazy expensive. All the locals in the tidal pool were very noisy and our overall experience disappointing.

A friendly pub in a tiny bay overlooking a wonderful public tidal pool. Its the perfect place for sundowners or informal meetings. A good selection of reasonably priced cocktails and a fine selection of local craft beers. Recommended.

We received a warm welcome from Tasha, the hostess with her beautiful smile and deep warm voice. Our waiter was Kenneth, who gave us the best service from drinks to food. He was attentive and recommending the best cocktails and their most delicious dishes. He has a dry sense of humor that makes you feel like a family member to the restaurant. Calm and collected clean man I must say. And of course the staff was really nice and represented a family of good colleagues. Ficks Pool. What an amazing natural swimming hole flanked by a restaurant on both sides and protected by natural rock enclosures and extremely safe swimming.

Totally loved this place. Ficks has a great vibe. It is tucked into the rocks and wraps around Ficks Pool. I was hiking in the cliff path with my wonderful guide Gillian and she showed me this hidden gem. Stopped to have a drink and a pizza 💞🤗😍yummy with a great view 👍🥰

Overall it was a great experience, would love to go again. However the kitchen was alittle slow. It took a while to get our drinks. However, the manager did his rounds and soon the orders started to speed up. The restaurant is built around a lovely tiral pool and the view is just magnificent. It is a lovely place to go to in the summer, especially. However, i suggest you go early to get the best seats.

Stunning view and good wines, starkly contrasted by the quality of the meal.When one is seated on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic ocean, one expects the seafood to be fresh and tasty. Unfortunately life is full of quirks.I do hope my experience was an exception to the rule, as this place has so much potential. A truly Mediterranean feel to the venue could make it one of the best venues in the country.Right now, the meals plays second fiddle to the fish & chips takeaways shop a block or two away.

Arguably the best view in Hermanus. Great food for sharing. Highly recommended. It is worth noting that the restaurant is fully outdoors and does not operate in inclement weather.

Amazing view and spot!Clean and neutral look and feel, which is perfect to keep you engaged with your fellow friends, family members and guests.Theres minimal or no under roof seating from what I could see, but theres enough outdoor umbrellas to keep you out of the sun and dry in case of light rain.Service was very welcoming. It was a bit slow and disorganized. The communication regarding the slight food delays we had was not clear.Dont let this critique put you off, its just points I would say say can be improved on.The pool was gorgeous when we were there and you are welcome to swim.Prices are fair and in line with current expectations. Portions are a bit small for some of the dishes. The pizzas are great.Overall would definitely recommend!

Wonderful and highly attractive venue. Its an open venue and patrons, kids and locals can enjoy a swim in the small tidal pool, waist high water. Tapas meals are delightful. Well spaced seating in the open, staff are friendly. Recommend the Fillet. Will frequent every time were in Hermanus.

Very nice setup and environment, very close to the sea water - can sit there all day, safe for children to swim who are 100% visible while in the water. Menu is good for a day restaurant with reasonable prices. Service was good.

The brand new Ficks restaurant, located at Fickss tidal pool, is a great spot to relax and soak up the sunshine. The restaurant is built along the sides of the cliff with the tidal pool in the middle. They have a pretty good selection of cocktails, which are very tasty, with beers and some of the local wines also available. The menu consists mostly out of tapas-style dishes, including Flammkuchen, so their focus is more on just snacking and having a couple of drinks and enjoying the view, rather than big, hearty meals. The day we visited was a bit overcast and later it also started to rain a bit, but on a hot day it would be perfect to grab something to drink and cool down in the tidal pool. I look forward to visiting them again and see a bright future for this restaurant.

Very beautiful setting between the rocks, right next to the sea with very good food, cocktails, hot drinks & a blanky for the cooler nights. Wheelchair accessable. An definite different experience you have to savour.

Definitely 3 stars for the scenic view, however, absolutely no stars for the 2.5 hours waiting period as well as the food that was not great, it’s unnecessarily pricey for the long wait. Unfortunately for me, having to wait for so long - only to be disappointed by the food and literally finish your tapas in under a minute to pay a bill of R500 - R600.Nope!

Always a great experience going to Fiks. You cant get a table without a good view, not to mention the friendly staff and amazing food. I highly recommend anyone who visits hermanus must spend an afternoon there.

Wow, an amazing setting for an excellent meal... The views are just superb... The service is excellent... Catering to your every need...the tapas style meals we choose were 5 star...not many settings like these were the waves break at your feet... Highly recommend this venue for a unique meal...

Beautiful beach restaurant with good food and drinks

Fick’s pool is the closest you’ll get to a Mediterranean experience in the Cape. All tables and lounges look down on a tidal pool. The food is good and the service fantastic. The owners are hands on and very proud of their establishment. All good is tapas style which works very well with the set up. They don’t take bookings, so for a good table, arrive early.

Magnificent setting amidst the rocks overlooking Ficks pool and the ocean. Good selection of tasty light meals, cocktails and other drinks. Service was friendly and excellent. A bit chilly once the sun disappears so we needed to don our warm jerseys. Overall a great place to relax.

Very nice Mediteranean-like setting with a great vibe! Seating and service times are a little longer than the average - but it does not matter, being a great, laid-back experience. Take note - this is an outdoor venue.
