Fantastic sushi served by awesome people. Open and clean. We were served slightly after eight pm and the food was great. Kitchen closes at eight pm. My happy place! Thanks guys! Parking close to the restaurant for a quick exit.

Had a delicious seared tuna sushi salad - perfect light lunch for a summer day.

Service is always first class. Our waitress was very friendly, playful and helpful. Wednesdays offer half price on select sushi, which makes it a very affordable outing with friends or family. Not kid friendly, however there is a kids play park immediately next to John Dorys, but this isnt open at all hours. Food was well presented and fresh.

The atmosphere and setup of restaurant is great, however prices are a bit steep on wines and fish dishes. Furthermore, the food was subpar. The jalepenos that I got tasted frozen and thawed, the batter was tasteless and way too much, all the food had a similar fried taste. Not a good experience but super friendly staff 😉

Awful. I went there for lunch yday.I ordered prawns.The meal arrived on a plate with paper over plate then meal on paper. After the sauce staeted running the paper broke up and I had every mouthful with some small piece of soggy paper. Thecwaitress said it is head office policy to line plate with paper.

One of my favourite go to restaurants since I was a young lad. Recently renovated, still has its top service, great food and highly rated sushi!. A MUST FOR ANY SUSHI LOVERS.

Great place for seafood, sushi, chips and breakfast meals. They offer bottomless coffee with their scrumptious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Had my first breakfast today and it was awesome. The waiters are great.

Crumbed prawns and avalanche was so burnt you had to drink fluid to swallow it and the response from management was that they will make sure it is better next time, believe me there wont be a next time

My favourite place to enjoy sole and prawns. They have the most delicious sauce they use on the prawns. No matter where I am in PE, if I feel like seafood Ill go there.

Terrible, decided to have my last dinner in South Africa and oh boy did it disappoint. Sole literally the size of a sardine, calamari was drenched in oil and soft and soggy. Terrible. Absolutely disgusting. Never again, ever!

The day before my birthday, I went with my wife to eat at John Dorys in Walmer Park. I wasnt really impressed with the food. The portion sizes were shockingly small for the price we paid.Upon placing my order, the waitress told me that they could give me the bigger 300 g steak for R30 more which I took. She also said that it is served with the best fresh vegetables. I opted for veggies and left the chips. This smokey Joe steak cost me R160+, and was definitely not worth the money I paid.This was my 300 g steak, with vegetables and onion rings as it was placed down in front of me. My wifes fish was also very small, unfortunately I did not take a photo of her food. The vegetables look like they came out of a frozen packet and slapped onto my plate. The 3 onion rings werent worth the effort.I complained to the John Dorys customer care, upon which they replied and told me that the manager would be in touch with me. He did call me, and asked if he could give me a free meal. I declined the offer, telling him that I would not eat at John Dorys again. He said that he would give me some time to think about it, and told me that he would call me back the next day, which he never did.ProsI have to admit, the steak was delicious. It was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and the sauce was delicious too.I must also give praise to JDs customer service. They were quick and efficient and the manager did offer me a free meal.ConsThe plate was filthy (see photo) with grey dishwasher stains and scratches. This is not what I expect from a restaurant such as JDs. Dont expect value for money. The starter was overpriced at R60. The main meals were extremely dissapointing. I actually left the restaurant hungry... after spending over R400 there.I will never ever eat at this establishment again. If you consider going to JDs Walmer Park, be prepared not to get any value for your money. You have been warned.

I recommend this branch, the service was outstanding with friendly staff from the check in point (temperature checks) till the table. The food was super fresh and delicious, the vibe and atmosphere was relaxing and homely at the same time. I forgot that I was sitting in the mall at one point!

Great sushi! Always love sitting at the sushi bar and having a convo with the chef. Always great food and the waiters are always friendly. Very quite during Covid, but busy on the sushi Wednesday. You may end up waiting for the sushi.

Friendly and responsible service. I had a waiter named Aliza, she was so warm and attentive. The food arrived within 15 minutes and it was top quality. The place was also very clean and had a calm conversation-indusive atmosphere. No complaints, only compliments.

Oh wow, I am super impressed. I ordered a batch of sushi for Valentines Day and it arrived in less than an hour. I also asked for them to do something special because it was for a date. They gave me BEAUTIFULLY presented sushi with edible pink, purple and red flowers with heart shaped wasabi, and they wrote cute sushi-related puns on the takeaway boxes, for example: I am soy into you etc. I am blown away by the thoughtfulness of my order, thank you so much to the person at John Dories who made our dinner so special! Oh, and the sushi was super fresh and delicious too!
