I stayed over Christmas and it was positively wonderful. The rooms are large and airy, the breakfast is scrumptious and consists of a hot and cold option, the electric scooter was a showstopper while the poolside deck is lavish and inviting. The cream on the cake had to be the staff who were very kind, consistent and knowledgeable of the hotels extensive amenities and the surrounding area. I would go there again and again

We had an absolutey wonderful stay at the Lab. A guest house picked from the heart of Silicone Valley. The rooms are entirely synced to Echo with effortless voice activation for functions like control of the aircon, TV, blinds, lights and even the coffee machine. There is something to be said about bathing with your loved one while watching Netflix! The patio offers a bespoke pool and enticing, spacious hot tub. Their carbon neutral design, with water solar panels for the pool and electric solar panels for the lights, brings comfort enjoying this luxury with peace of mind. Their staff provide excellent, friendly, helpful and unobtrusive service. Would highly recommend visit the Lab!

This place has a lot of potential but unfortunately the execution falls short. Eco does not work as advertised. It is a poor version of Google home. The pool and spa was not particularly clean. The spa couldnt be used for two days due to low water.Shower doesnt work when the power is out - load shedding. The front door to the off site apartments couldnt be opened on several occasions. I was locked out at 730am for no apparent reason.I love the concept of this place but it needs a lot of work

We had an absolute blast staying at the Lab in Franschhoek! Most of the functionality in the rooms are run by Alexa using voice commands. The staff were well trained, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would happily stay there again! The reason for the 4 star is because there were a couple of aesthetic construction touch ups required.

Stayed here for our honeymoon in November. Was not very pleased as we payed a small fortune and did not recieved what was expected. Our room had absolutely No privacy it was positioned right by the pool and everyone sitting there would be looking straight into your room, they call this their honeymoon suitAfter a long drive we arrived at our room and did not want to go out for dinner. We were happy to order something from the hotel as stated on the website but there was No room service. No gowns as statedNo towel racks to hang your towels up to dryCoffee machine keeps turning on by itselfNo one helped with luggageVery few drinks optionsThis room was Position right by breakfast area so no way of sleeping in as everyone up at 7:30 would be talking loudly right next to your window. After my husband had shower it was my turn and the water had run our it was dripping from the tap.Not a happy experience for a honeymoon

My husband and I recently spent the night at the LAB for our anniversary. We love Franschoek and visit often,so this time when looking for accommodation for our special night the LABs features definitely stood out as its very different to what we normally go for in Franschoek. We were definitely impressed with the features and its a beautiful place but the experience left a bitter taste in our mouth. The LAB definitely has potential but really needs some work if they want to compete with the places in Franshoek.I was extremely disappointed with the service I had received, if definitely lacks professionalism and efficiency. The booking process was a complete nightmare, in which i had to call a few times. I then tried booking a massage for my husband and I for the day we arrived or the next morning. I called Jabu 3 times in the week leading up to my booking. Still no confirmation, and apon arrival was greeted with a list of excuses as to why he did not contact me, yet there were therapists on site when we arrived. We had one of the best nights as the weather was perfect so after dinner, we decided to enjoy the rest of the evening at the pool, only to get told that everything closes at the LAB at 10 and we need to make our way to the room. Jabu then told us that he would extend (which now felt like my curfew) our time by 30 min before sending us to our rooms. I have never experienced this at any accommodation i have ever booked. This didnt sit well with us but did not want to put a damper on our weekend and anniversary, and agreed and went to bed. For the amount of money you pay for a room at the LAB this is ridiculous. I would have understood if we were disturbing other guest, but we were quietly sitting at the pool chatting with another couple we met at the LAB enjoying a glass of wine. This was not disclosed when booking, that bed time would be at 10. My husband and I are very disappointed with the experience, and if we must compare it to the experience we had at other guests houses we have been to, the LAB doesnt come close.

A modern well maintained 21st century bed and breakfast location in Franschhoek. Myself and my wife stayed over for a brief two night getaway. The room was a bit in the open as it had sliding doors in a very vulnerable spot as most guest walking past could see into the room, so we kept the blinds closed most of the time. Finishing of electrical fittings could be improved however the room was clean and well kept.Amazon echo tech was used in the room to enable voice activation of music, tv, lights, blinds, coffee machine and shower. Very cool but a simple gimmick that can be replicated quiet easily in any other hotel or bed and breakfast. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. A special thanks to Chef Bruce who made my wife’s nausea subside our last night over. All in all we had a good stay, two nights was definitely long enough for us to unwind and forget about the day to day hustle back home. I would recommend this place for a young, newly wed couple or a well off bachelor trying to impress his lady to be with a cool trendy location in the little French corner of South Africa.

Sell themselves as high tech ... not what we found !! 2 couples both rooms echo was awful turning random things on and off ..or not working at all . Breakfast good and lady serving very friendly and helpful . Unlike the bosses who were there having meetings at breakfast table , ignorant and unhelpful . Asked about mirrors in room ( pointed out holes on wall where the mirror will be ) coffee machine echo would turn on randomly ( but not work ) asked manager twice for help nothing changed . Pool was filthy and paintwork peeling in pool . Bathroom glass wall supposedly mists up when inside but cleared after a minute . Came back one night and couldnt access room ( BATTERIES) had ran out on high tech door code lock . All in all rude and low tech guesthouse at best ...very disappointed !!

TheLAB Lifestyle made our company trip to South-Africa even betterAs if it weren’t enough that we had the opportunity to go to such a beautiful country, we also got to stay in this fancy hotel in Franschhoek. The incredibly friendly staff takes care of all your needs and always does so with a smile. Whether you travel with your family or with your company, the multifunctional HUB lends itself as a meeting room or you can cosy up in front of the fireplace with a good glass of local wine . With the presence of Alexa in all the rooms you can let your lazy side take over. She’ll command the lights, the blinds of the windows, your music or TV and she’ll even wake you up with a cup of coffee when you ask her to. The pool, the Jacuzzi and the pop-up spa in the courtyard are also a nice plus to ensure a relaxing stay. So to summarize the beautiful surroundings of the wine district, the welcoming atmosphere and the high-tech luxury makes theLAB Lifestyle hotel the perfect place for your trip to Capetown, South-Africa.

The basic idea is a nice idea ... The implementation is very difficult. We had room 16 - this is not in the main building but in an old, renovated bungalow across the street. Point 1 is stupid.Point two - Alexa hears better, sometimes worse and doesnt make coffee or Netflix. It works better at home. Maybe its due to the language barrier 🤷🏼‍♀️But the really dumbest thing is the bathroom. There is no door to the room, so you have to be very intimate to share it and have a certain pain threshold when it comes to smell. In addition, there is a toilet and shower (2x showers - so two people could shower) without a partition in one room. If you shower together, however, there is so much water on the floor that cannot drain away, so that half the room is flooded! Since the water drains off slowly, a lot of dirt remains on the tiles (hair & co). If one has showered and the other then wants to go to the toilet, he has to be prepared for wet feet 🤔In addition, the room is on a main street and the noise level is extremely high. Generally the whole house is very noisy.Otherwise the service was okay but superficial and fake friendly. The self-service breakfast was delicious, the rest so-so.We would not book again!
