Great staff. The setting and view of the harbor was lovely. I wish there couldve been a bin in the room and the side lamps didnt work. Overall though, its alright. I loved the old school lift

I just used the parking garage adjacent to the Rivera, which is my best when I have meetings etc at Masonic Grove Government Offices. Friendly staff, good lifts and very reasonably priced!!

Clean rooms but Dstv is now needed at this stage and in this era Riviera is still living the old fashion, yes, they are very clean, no two ways about that but.. upgrade is overdue now...

We paid a deposit lastyear Feb for a 3days and 4nights. We were going to checkin on the 27/03/2020 unfortunately lockdown happened and we couldnt go, fast forward in October or so i cancelled and asked for the deposit as off today i am still waiting for my deposit , everytime i call they always busy with a client since i am not i guess. Bad service xem, i can never recommend someone there.

There was carpet stanch, on aunday morning there was a church in the 1st floor the lifts were not working

Friendly staff, cheap rates, rooms are comfortable. WIFI works excellently. Decent coffee can be bought from the reception. Safe and secure parking for R15 a day. Restuarant down stairs, central to many destinations.

Best thing about it was the price. Light fixtures not working, you have to wait 10 whole minutes for the hot water to reach the tap so you waste a lot of it, found roaches, not even a tea bag and a kettle provided for morning tea or so much as a coffee sachet, those things cost like R3

Not a great place for a long stay, we only stayed 1 night,very cramped space for a double bed room . The carpet in the room had a mouldy smell. The hotel is facing a busy road and the noise from passing traffic was a bit disturbing at night. The water In the shower was Luke warm, no.kettle or tea.provided in the room. The Wifi did not work in the rooms the signal was only strong at reception and at a communal small space with couches on one of the floors were you were expected to sit with other people.

Terrible hotel. Avoid. Very noisy. Smoke from garage below enters room. Place is filthy, slept on towels, the bed and carpets are dirty. The toilets were really scary. Avoid. No Wi-Fi, no parking u less you pay. Terrible experience. AVOID.

This is not the Grand hotel nor does it try to be & seriously what do you expect to get at a R300 - R400 per night hotel. This is for those people who just want a place to sleep. There are no luxuries here just a bed and a shower.

A very nice place to stay, I loved it.

The hotel is not proper at all....from waiting for the quotation for almost 2 weeks to the terrible smell of carpets upon arrival, bad odour in the toilet n shower, the stuffiness, the mosquitoes, waking up with an allergic reaction think its bed bugs😭. No dstv, no aircon, only light fans. However, I must commend the gentlemen at the reception as well as the workers in the resturant...they were very nice and friendly😆. I wouldnt recommend the hotel to anyone. It was my first and last time booking there😩.

Inferior infrastructure, looks like an below average BnB, but friendly stuff, just the building, the services on offer is not satisfactory.

Chose this hotel last minute since I was stranded and my experience was not that bad. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I couldnt sleep on the bed since it had bed bugs now I have irritation on my skin. The rooms are quite humid but its a clean environment. All they need to do is add air conditioning and deal with the bed bugs

Good location. Right next to the entrance to Durban harbour. U cross the street and u are in the harbour All the rooms have view of the harbour. Prices are reasonable , cold and warm English breakfast.Negatives: there are phones in the rooms meaning u hv to walk to the reception. The hotel doesnt have parking but there is a public parking in the next building. The female who was at reception on 27 February 2020 around 17H00 was very rude. A women came in asking for directions and she was so rude I almost called her into order. What she did and said bothered me for a couple of hours.

Friendly staff. Good and low cost breakfast. Balcony rooms get too much noise from the taxis in front. Higer levels would be less noisy. Not classy but, still value for money. Parking is extra and charged per 12 hours.

It is clean and family orientated

The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The place can be improved and offer much as the potential is there. Beside everything else, it worth the rand that you pay, cause its affordable.

Riviera Hotel is superb. Besides the beautiful view of the Yacht Club and the Harbour the Hotel staff are so welcoming. The rooms are built for comfort and the breakfast they serve is divine. I would recommend this Hotel anytime.

Made reservation 6weeks in advance asked for dates to be changed 3weeks later and then again the day before we wanted to arrived all 3 times we were helped in friendly manner ... At the hotel staff was frendly ... we could not complain at all you get what you pay for .. the parking garage next door is a big bonus ... for the price we will use them again

Its now the second time coming 2 Riveria hotel. Its a great place 2 stay near the harbour & easy 2 ride on the boat cruises just across the road. Shopping is @ the back of yo hotels 2min walk.

Not much channels to watch,the whole weekend it was ETV.But the view of the harbour was great.

Its good, I enjoyed my stay there. Good loaction & back side parking provision also safe.

Its Located in City Centre at esplanade easy access to transport and walking distance to the harbour. It has a very beautiful habour and port view but I can get abit noisy since it is located on the main road.

Well located but not too clean

I didnt enjoy the stay at all. Staff is not friendly, they dont commicate at all. Management need to take them to customer service course. Rooms are not the same as what you viewed on the website. Their breakfast is okay but the milk is cold and theres no juice. For that you are forced to have their cold tea/coffee. I wont recommend the hotel to anyone. Sorry

Even a motel is better. It is dirty,dodgy and scary. The hotel manager old man is rude and scary.The rooms are not comfortable no fridge no tea facilities.people check in an move out immediately after seeing the hotel.Tje pictures posted in the internet misled us to make the booking...its a scam.no value for your money.The dining room looks unhygienic.
