Ideal for big families that want to spend time together with a level of privacy

A lovely little establishment in the centre of Durban. Modern finishes. Lack of admin staff, professionalism and hospitality. Unfortunately not a place we would want to waste time when visiting the coast.

Very nice hotel

Its been really good. The staff is very friendly. Sam, at reception, has been very helpful and very accommodating. The rooms are clean and well taken care of.

Booked via Airbnb, no one seemed to know what was happening on arrival, check in process was tideous at best, no power for TWO days no generator or even candles offered. Nice showers though.

A very quaint boutique hotel with a delightful restaurant. The outside seating is definitely what makes this place unique. So much greenery and couch seating, makes the ambience so relaxing. There is also a fish pond and the sound of water adds such calm to the entire setting. Safe secure parking inside the premises. Wheelchair friendly. Fully halaal. The food is gourmet being very well prepared and presented. Definitely will visit again.

The room was absolutely beautiful @ However my check in was a nightmare, their staff was hostile and there was not much customer service given that there was loadshedding and a storm for the duration of my stay.

Made a booking for a birthday dinner and wasnt welcomed or shown to our table, we were told to sit anywhere, was unimpressed that we had to choose a large table for 8 to sit cos none of the 4 seaters were suitable for our group. Service was slow. Food was presented well but my prawns were lacking flavour. Asked for a hot sauce to go with it. What was supposed to be an intimate family birthday dinner was interrupted by the owner joining us for most of the meal to chat about himself. Terribly awkward. Considering the total we paid for 5 adults, it was not worth the experience. Non fine dining spots Ive been to treat customers better.

A Church of the Province of South Africa (Anglican) - a traditional, welcoming, old Durban church. Beautiful original stained glass windows the highlight of which is a large rose window, lovely carved woodwork and a marble font. Well known for its traditional church music, organ and choir.

Excellent service. We were there while they experienced an electrical outage and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. They explained which items could still be prepared and the food was devine.

The room and amenities were fine, but the service needs to improve. They seemed very short staffed and on the night we arrived there were no bath towels. The breakfast and dinner was amazing and makes the stay worthwhile.

Its a Lovely place but the pricing this December was crazy. Called for a quote for 2 rooms (2 kids + 3 adults) on the phone it was approx R5600 and when we got there we then told approx R7900. So this time around we gave it a miss... Disappointed...

I was blown away by the excellent staff.. so many talented chefs creative such delicious food. We had such a lovely high tea in their beautiful outdoor area.. yummy food, and great coffee.

Set in the upmarket morningside suburb within the confines of the St James on Venice Boutique Hotel, The Hookah Veteran Shisha Lounge is the ideal spot to kick back and relax while enjoying whats undoubtedly the best Shisha in Durban, and you can also order food and drinks to compliment your smoking experience. If youre in the mood to relax and have some quiet time to yourself or for a meeting the best times to visit are between 3pm - 5pm. If you want a little more lively atmosphere then 7pm-12pm on weekends will suit you just fine. The owner/manager is very welcoming and hands-on and the staff are friendly and helpful too.

Absolutely atrocious service... Visited on a night that the restuarant was hosting a function... Sat at the hooka lounge... Placed orders with waitress and then waited for about 25 minutes with only a single cappuccino being delivered to us. Most of the items were not available on the menu apparently because of the function taking place... Spoke to someone that looked like a manager but apparently he was only in charge of the hooka lounge and could do nothing to assist... This place has such a great trendy vibe with unique outdoor furniture and feel to the place... Unfortunately the service was dismal. We eventually left paying only for the capucccino that we consumed feeling very dejected as it was too late to find an alternative... Would honestly not go back because of the service...

We visited the hotel in order to experience the hubbly lounge situated there. Hooka Veteran serves a decent variety of flavours. The lounge is strictly Halal. Good concept; however, I have had better Hubblies.

Their customer service from the riceptionist to the waitresses, the food is on point, its was so delicious.

Not very impressed with my 4 days stay. Cappuccino was not included in the breakfast. Like really? Had to pay for that. I expected a better service.

SPECTACULAR. Food was Devine, place has a beautiful setting. Staff and service on point. Exactly what I was wishing for a special dinner for myself and my other half. Definitely a night for us to remember. Special thank you to chef ISMAIL for making everything exqusite and special.

A very snuggled up hotel establishment, hidden away in the Morningside area. At first glance you would never expect what lies behind the walls...charming and yet sophisticated it might take you back in time reminding you what life was back then when life was good. Tranquil settings on the outside, surrounded by trees and herb gardens.... And ofcourse water features to take away the outside world. One of the most relax and awesome settings I have been to as off date. Definitely a place to come and stay or even just out for lunch with the family.

My friend and I walked in to restaurant to find the place quaint and empty for a Saturday morning. Unfortunately the quietness was interrupted by a bunch of tween kids running around wildly. Thankfully a member of the staff asked the parents to handle their unruly kids. The breakfast was good, not wow. The Green Machine juice has some sort of sweetness in it which wasnt up to my palette taste especially based on the ingredients listed. I was dissapointed to find my dark chocolate creme brulee served with dark chocolate ice cream to actually be normal chocolate ice cream. I would have complained at the time but the service was rather extremely slow. I requested a slice of toast which arrived 10min later. By then I was almost done with my omelette. With only 1 waiter present and 4 people present in the restaurant service should have been more attentive. I was most bemused when the waiter brought a fork with the creme brulee. Hopefully this was just an unfortunate event as most reviews seem to have a higher rating. Nonetheless this was my disappointing experience.

Beautiful venue however staff seemed a little under-trained to deal with numbers at the restaurant. Alot of confusion over food and bill.

I would rate the food a 10/10. Everything was delicious and the ambiance is lovely. We spent the afternoon chilling near the trickling sounds of the koi pond and enjoyed the delicately plated dishes. My only down point was the waitor who was quite slow. We have visited the establishment a few times and everytime he serves us its the same. Everytime we need anything we always need to look for him. I would suggest to them to improve on the waiters service and knowledge about whats available. But all in all a yumm meals

Rooms are neat with modern finishes,lacks facility,but great if youre looking for accommodation to take it slow and relax,owners are wonderful people,and service is great.

The warm friendly ambience with their traditional breakfast will give you strength for a day!!

Some of the staff can be rude (they need more training in etiquette and how to speak to and treat guests), but luckily the manager knows how to ensure all guests are well taken care of.
