Great service at local Umhlanga office, overall very happy with my experience after 4 months of renting a car from them. Hertz is expensive but I was looking for a small, automatic car from a reliable brand (Toyota) and it was the only firm around that had that. Recommend.
The best rental service I have ever had. Never been any issues, just best value all the time. I love Hertz. They dont have a branch in the Durban CBD anymore, but I make means to get to where they are in Umhlanga all the time. They are a total peace of mind, they have awesome consultants who go over and above good customer service. Thank you Hertz.

My experience had a good face and a bad face also. Here is my story:Good faceAt the time of this review, Hertz has a spring special running and I loved it! My wifes car broke down and we had to find a plan for getting kids to school . I saw a Hertz advert on my Gmail and I jumped onto it. That was value for money! I recommend. The staff were very friendly.Bad faceAfter picking the vehicle i noticed that the tank wasnt really full... A sign of lack of attention to detail. I needed to extend my rental so they wanted me to come back to the office to sign papers and gave me a hard time to extend over the phone. Eventually they did. This is unusual - with other rental companies extension isnt a hustle.On returning the car, I called them a day before and told them I would return the car following day early morning. They told me office opens at 8am but I can come anytime from 5am. I got there 7am and there was no sign of help. I had to xall national call centre because on the door there was no local emergency number. I wasted 30 min when I was supposed to go to work....The staff accused me that I didnt understand their instructions and werent prepared even to apologize.I thus dropped my rating from 5 to 4.Overall, I liked the prices, its really value for money. After searching the market, I got the best deal so that I had to go for the second time.

I rented a car in March still have not received my deposit. I have tried many times to contact the branch but I understand due to lockdown they would be closed I have sent many emails and no response.There is a cell number which is recorded on the voice reading but that number is even incorrect.
