Fabulous restaurant with a focused menu, excellent service and homely atmosphere. Our group had everything from pasta to seafood to lamb shanks and every dish was commendable. When in doubt, default to the trout options, being a speciality in the area. Very popular so booking ahead is essential.

Most wonderful restaurant. Fascinating, eccentric decor. Snail starter, lamb shank served on mash most delicious. The waiters are never constantly in your face, yet always present and if you blink, they are at the table to assist. The owner is dynamic with a wonderful sense of humour. Best restaurant ever!

If you’re staying over in Dullstroom - you are advised to go for dinner at Mrs Simpsons. Quality, wholesome and lovingly prepared food made with passion! We ate there twice and left with full tummies and impressed with the food, service and attention given by everyone! Highly rated. The old lady Wallis sadly missed as she passed away end June 2021.

A little gem just waiting to welcome you.Almost every little girls dream, shoes, hats, jewels, glamorous portraits and an innocently risqué ladies room. Set the scene, add to this 2 jolly chefs whose interest and personalities add to the incredible feeling like youve just stepped into a movie set.The food is sublime.Mussels were perfectly portioned (as a celiac often feel a little hard done by as the restaurateurs expect you to fill up on the bread). Very tasty and the sauce was thick enough.Then the pièce de résistance for me was the amazing morrocan prawn and mussel dish. Wow the flavors are fantastic. Every mouthful a real treat. Not hot but the flavours of the herbs and spices are full, round and robust, a real culinary treat.Being Celiac desert is always a bit of a disappointment. There were many amazing cakes, which members of our party tucked into with great gusto.Trusty Crème Brûlée was available but I declined.A fairly comprehensive and well priced winelist to complete the offerings.My tweenaged daughters both enjoyed a large calamari starter with enough to take home for the drive back to Johannesburg.

Best restaurant ever even beat restaurant s abroad

One of the most peculiar and most wonderfully surprising restaurant ever! I was a bit hesitant from outside, but once inside, youre transported to the most interesting decor. Every other minute there was something new to discover on the walls. Our waiter (I think his name is Lee) was simply amazing. He was efficient and attentive and our glasses were never empty. The food was out of this world. Highly recommend the mushroom crostini and springbok carpaccio for starters, and the kingclip and duck for mains! You wont be disappointed

I have been fortunate enough to travel through SA quite a bit, this is without a doubt my favourite restaurant in the whole country!

Being at this incredible restaurant post lockdown was such a treat. I’m so glad it survived and has the same enthusiastic incredible owners still churning out the most incredible food, service and laughs. It is without any doubt of the best you’ll try and an absolute must if you within a 200km radius of the place haha. Real treat.
