The coachman was amazing, food was freshly prepared, service was great! We went twice over one weekend...which should speak volumes.Would definitely recommend the peri peri chicken.

Never judge a Book by its Cover they say. This is so true regarding The Coachman Restaurant DullstroomWe wanted to do breakfast here one morning as it showed on google they open from 8am. We stopped across the road first to admire the view before walking here to have breakfast at about 9am or so. Needless to say there was no one there, except someone cleaning the carpets, and it looked super dodge so we left and went a little further to find another spot to eat. We proceeded to see all the other sites in dullstroom and after visiting the numerous places we were rather hungry.The place we were planning on eating at was given a No, by the lady we were chatting to so she recommended another place. It slowly started to rain, and we got there only to find out dinner service only starts at about 6 or 7pm and we wanted to be back at our hotel by then and we were really hungry. So we decided to look back at the places we didnt eat at. We thought should we see if Coachmans is open? So back we go, in the rain we walk in and again. No one. Not a car outside. Not a soul inside. Eventually a staff member walks out and we ask of they open, she confirmed yes they are, so we take a seat. Its now pelting with rain and we still feel weird being the only ones there.They have an extensive menu for food and drinks and I love their saying. No Working during Drink Hours Thank youWe ordered our drinks from Moyo 1 x Bloody Mary for my sis, and I had a Chilli Mango Margarita, and some starters from Nonhlanha, we shared a Garlic focaccia bread. One of the nicest focaccia in a long time.It settled our tummies nicely for mains. Cos tonight was the last night in dullstroom so we went all out.Mains I had the Steak Caracol - This may look like a simple meal, but probably one of my best meals in dullstroom after the Sushi (Fillet with 4 snails and a creamy white wine and Garlic Sauce, served with Seasonal Veg and Chips). Melt in your mouth delicious. My sister tried the Mustard & Oats Crusted Trout (Trout covered in Dijon mustard and rolled in oats, grilled and served with side salad and mash) absolutely amazing. We were properly blown away by the food, drinks and service thus far that we polished off our food completely and were making sure we stayed for dessert. It was still raining after all. By this time at least there were 2 other tables in this massive establishment.Dessert I had the Chocolate Brownie, and sis had the Malva Pudding. Sadly they did mention this was not made in house, it had a familiar taste so its definitely made by a franchise of sorts and distributed, nonetheless it was still tasty and finished off our meal on a sweet note. We had dinner on a very slow Winter Monday night. There was only one other table occupied but staff didnt stop short of giving us the full and proper service, including burning about 15 kg of wood for us. Very nice setting, good wine list, well prepared cocktails and an extensive (!) menu to choose from. Highly recommended!

So so glad we ate here today for my birthday. Its a huge restaurant but has a very intimate feel. I had their Peri Livers starter (mild) which was definitely the best that I have had so far. Our lambs shanks melted off the bone and was perfectly cooked. The spinach and mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious. The pumpkin was well cooked, although I prefer my pumpkin much sweeter.I can absolutely recommend The Coachman and will definitely dine here again.

What a great portion of Trout and that poached egg was perfect. A choice of a nice bread would have been nice but not the end of the world.

Very Nice. Very very good food and will recomend it to anybody. The menu give a wide selection of food. Only issue is the lack of COVID-19 control. Strickter regulations around this could pls be addressed. No sanitizing when entering and no sanitizing between tabel service. Tabel cloths and cloth serviets is not a good idea.

Very good food, hit the spot perfectly after a long mildly disappointing drive, with a disatisfactory end... the food though was amazing, succulent fillet steaks at a decent price, and the staff were happy to help us just before the kitchens closed.

Its now been two hours. Were still waiting for our food. We made a reservation on Tuesday and when we arrived we were stuffed in a corner after having to wait for 10 minutes to be seated. They forgot about our reservation. Two of our friends are sharing a corner and God Knows how they will eat tonight with that little of table to share between them.Im really disappointed in the service and everytime I ask the waiter where the food is she walks away ignoring my question.

Had a delicious romantic meal on Friday 11th June, with appropriate live music that added to the ambience. The brief interruption by Eskom added to a wonderful evening as oil lamps were provided at each table.

We live in Dullstroom and this is a great restaurant for good pizzas, pastas and good old traditional South African food. The staff are friendly, helpful and quick off the mark. Moiyo, the manager is fantastic and is always about ensuring that the service is impeccable.

Great atmosphere. Have lunch and a cold beer or glass of wine and be served by friendly staff. Seating available inside and outside

The food was very good, thoroughly enjoyed it. Pitty though that it took nearly 1.5 hours to arrive, with the lights being turned on and the staff prepping the tables for the next day, we felt rushed. And without mentioning names, was dissapointed that some staff do not wear a mask while tending to your table, unacceptable and disrespectful during the Covid third wave :(

Lamb shank done very well, the potatoes were actual potatoes texture was great flavor was amazing, we waited a bit for food because of the event which made the restaurant extremely busy. But the food is well worth the experience. Amazing atmosphere, with a pub area and restaurant being almost seperate.

Starters were snails and mussels which were a 5 star. Delicious and moderately priced.The mains we had were both 200g rumors which were served with veg and pepper sauce. Both were good slightly over medium which we ordered but really good regardless. Sauce and veggies were fresh and really good.Wine selection was pretty standard but not bad.The restaurant itself is really nice. Clean and has an old school feel and charm to it.Service was phenomenal and friendly and we had a great window seat with a view if you going as a couple ask for it in the bottom section. Won’t go wrong there, great experience.

Went to Dullstroom for the first time today. After not receiving any kind of service at the first two restaurants, the family and I settled at The Coachman. We were helped to our table and our order was taken within a few minutes. unfortunately, thats where the service ended. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We did enquire about our food but were told it would take another 45 minutes to an hour. During the almost 2 hours we were there, the waitress only visited our table once. She said shell send the manager over to explain the situation to us, yet he never arrived. The food was alright, though it would have been better had we not waited so long for it. All in all, not a very pleasant experience.

Great ambience! Excellent food! Friendly service! The restaurant was very busy, but the service was still efficient. We will definitely visit again. Loved the live music.

A surprising gem! While the jungle gym and kid zone certainly need an upgrade, the kids had fun, the beer was cold, food was good, and the service was excellent. Thank you Hlandla for giving us the perfect amount of attention!

We phoned twice to confirm our booking and got to the restaurant they had no space. There was no social distancing and we ended up leaving. Extremely disappointing. Booking was made under Ferdi.

Cant rate much. We walked in and had to find a waitress. First one wasnt interested. Second one half interested. Eventually came to take our drinks order and when we wanted to order food she saud kitchen closes at 4pm so she doesnt know if she can take our order. It was 15h15..... she disappeared to find out never to return. 10 min later someone arrived to say he can take our order by which time we decided to rather buy slap chips take away from Labamba. Turned out to be a wise choice!Unfortunately for Coachman we pass through Dullies twice a month but we wont be stopping there.

Terrible service. We waited an hour and half for our food. The manager came once in the beginning of the evening and said, they are a little bit short staffed and our food will be right out, after an hour and 15min we called her again to ask where is our food, suddenly our food came. Not once she apologized. The table next to us was also waiting for 1hour and 30 min for their food and when the customer complained to the manager she walked away and rolled her eyes.Although it was very unpleasant to wait so long for our food, when the food arrived it was very good food and good taste. A lot of place for improvement. Good luck
