Service was decent- food took an eternity to arrive and we were the only ones at the restaurant. Quality of food was horrendous, seafood was definitely not as fresh as stated. Definitely not worth the waiting time and money spent. Disappointed as it used to be great a while ago.

Saltyz used to be the number one chill spot.

Best bunny chow

Not good, lots of people walked out of the restaurant this evening after receiving poor service this should have been my first warning. Then the food arrived I had an extremely salty bunny chow with a hair in it and CRUSTY, Soggy microwaved bread. Husbands beef burger tasted like a soy mince patty with semi cooked chips, this place should only serve drinks, such a pity the restaurant has an ocean deck view and has potential to be something great.

Not a place to take little ones even though they have a kiddies menu.Theres no proper ventilation and people smoke A LOT.Its more of a drinks place. Long wait for meals but they do serve a good bunny chow!They could use more waitstaff.

Super hip environment!

Saltyz is a pub and restaurant in Salt Rock which overlooks the ocean but from a little distance. Big screen sports and cold beers make for a relaxing time. The food is okay and the service could be improved. There is limited parking when busy. There is someone watching the cars.

Service was terrible , the guy who was entertaining was rude and disrespectful towards us , our drinks took almost 20 minutes. We have come to balito for a holiday and today is our last day and its pathetic really.. would not recommend this place to anyone!

We had the mutton bunny...the curry and the bread was the day befores food...not fresh. The bread was microwaved and it became too crusty.The Calamari deep fried was very good. The coating/seasoning was awesome.

Best curry restaurant in salt rock. Great service and prices are very reasonable. A favorite among the locals! Happy hour is Monday to Thursday 5pm to 7pm

Service is astoundingly slow, bartender cares more about her conversations than taking orders. Also missing staff when wanted to place. Food is the redeeming factor though.Edit: got food orders wrong and ended up wasting a lot of time driving around. The conversation of the bartender was obviously more important than the food orders.

Kitchen was closed late at night. They helped us anyway with a smile. The barman was super friendly and inviting. Chips are delicious

Ordered a mutton bunny chow but received a beef bunny. Ordered a large beef curry and got mutton curry. Wife doesnt eat mutton so needless to say her appetite was spoilt. Starters were great though!!

Absolutely terrible service. First time coming here from JHB we waited over 2 hours for our food, then waited another hour as one order wasnt made. Second time here. My friend had glass in her Pinacolada and our beer tasted like egg and no ashtray services. Im in the hospitaly industry and this type of service is appalling!! Will not return any time soon even though the manager was very apologetic

Great place. Situated Bazil Hullet drive in Salt Rock. Great staff, good food and that fresh ocean air are sure to provide a fun filled evening. Theyve got gaming, karaoke and other wonderful in-house specials.

Brilliant staff and service

As a regular here i enjoy sitting out on the deck with friends after a hard days work, enjoying a nice cold draft or 2. They make food at a duper reasonable price, of decent quality. While their food may not be their stromg point they do make amazing bunny chows, they have great drink specials a prices, staff service is good and friendly. There is always a good vibe which is why i gave them 5 stars.

The best staff ever

We went for lunch yesterday. This was our first visit and definitely not our last. Lamb bunny chow, chicken-calamari combo was superbly done. Ballito craft beers were awesome as well as the friendly, well trained staff.

After a long wait the curry arrived cold and was sent back. Very mild, but strong in flavour - delicious. Not the place to go if you want efficient bar service.

Tried eating here so many times! Terrible service. The crowd is weird some times and just stares. Im not sure if theres a non smoking section as the entire place was full of smoke. Dress is casual. Abit smelly and sticky tables.

Food was very nice but unfortunately not worth waiting an hour for. It also didnt help that one of the dishes we ordered only came after everyone elses food was already finished.The service also seemed to get a bit worse later on.

Had a nice curry and a tall draught on the deck with good views. Being a pub n grill allowed smokers, which slightly spoiled the ambience when their second hand smoke got in our faces and food.
