Wow! What great food!Service was flawless, except for the fact that the wine I wanted was out of stock. We were the last to leave the restaurant, and all the staff waited patiently until we had left the building before departing for home.A place I will most definitely return to.

Finally got the chance to visit Erawan on Saturday night, and it was such a treat. Service was friendly and fast. Food was delicious! Enjoyed a chicken tom yum soup (medium heat) for starters, which was extremely spicy! My soup consisted of spicy broth, chicken, mushrooms and a hint of lemongrass. For mains I ordered a red curry with chicken (medium heat). This was not as spicy as the soup but still left a pleasant, spicy tingling in the mouth. Veggies were crunchy and the sauce was rich and flavoursome. Ill definitely be back for more!

Came back to Erawan having not been here for maybe a year now.Elegant dining area with tables that are well spaced so you dont feel crowded or too close for comfort.A quiet dinner for two with my gorgeous girlfriend and culinary critic.Decided to have the dim sum dumplings for starters, choosing the two prawn dishes, Ka num Jeeb Goong 3pcs absolutely delicious and recommended and the Kui-Chay also 3pcs.We then had the Green Curry with chicken which was very tasty, not hot, but very pleasant and filling.Sadly this venue does not have a liquor licence and we only found this out on arrival, sadly we were not informed when we booked telephonically, so had soft drinks.I rate this restaurant at a 7/10 and will definately return.

Erewan Wynberg used to be my favourite spot for a meal. Excellent food and good service at good prices. BUT over the past few months something terrible has happened- they often dont have prawns/ fish/ duck. They suddenly cant make a rock shandy- people come in and sit down then leave as they are told that there is no fish or no prawns or no duck. I feel desperately sorry for the staff who have to take the flack. What on earth is happening?

Food was good. However no ambiance , no tablecloths , no coffee. Allegedly coffee machine not working. The elegance of before non existant. Was once our familys favourite place. Even had my birthday party there. Was extremely disappointed.

Atmosphere in restaurant was good, nice and warm feel.Food was very good, dishes were tasty, with good spiced and flavours. My least favourite was the stir fry, felt there was a bit too much onion and the onion was chunky.Desert was also nicely done not too sweet.Overall I enjoyed the restaurant and would recommend to other people.

Very, very disappointing. Weve been a number of times before and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. However, this evening, there were a number of items unavailable on the menu, even though we had booked a large table well in advance. Only 3 soft drinks available. No coffee available.

The restaurant is in a lovely area with other quaint restaurants. It unfortunately does not live up to its potential. There is little to no atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was mediocre at best and the medium spiced food that I ordered was exceedingly hot and largely inedible without removing huge numbers of chillies. The bathrooms were questionable with one stall that did not lock. There was no soap and the tap did not work properly. This of course brings into question the cleanliness of the staffs hands ...

Bring the old management back! Erawan has long been a favorite of ours, offering utterly delicious exotic cuisine. But a recent change to incompetent and doubtlessly lazy management has seen the establishment nosedive in quality. Bathrooms are in shambles and the staff is untrained. Worse still, they seem incapable of preparing half their menu. In our most recent dining excursion, Erawan did not have prawn crackers, bananas, coffee, carrots, or prawns, and subsequently ran out of duck as well. The attitude in addressing these shameful problems was lax. Several groups of patrons saw fit to leave after being seated - perhaps this is the wisest decision. There are now countless better restaurants in the area!

First time experience was a tasty treat to heart’s content.Second third and more specifically yesterday’s experience will make me think twice before i try them again.Phoned in to make reservations and we were not informed of alcohol license that got revoked. They had no fish duck or sushi on the menu.3 starters we chose were not available and 2 main orders were cancelled after it was placed. No decent candles on the tables, no background music no table cloths on tables and the state of the torn dirty sticky menu’s left us very worried about the message this once prestigious place was sending us.The place was under staffed uninformed and lacked just about every quality that even your fastfood walk-ins in the food industry has. They really have a lot to improve on and sadly the same goes for the chef.

A great authentic Thai experience. Assorted dim sum, crispy wantons , noodles with all manner of proteins filled with fragrant chili basil and garlic. Order hot you will sweat profusely....rather go for medium heat. Creatively carved vegetables , very pretty doll like waitresses charming Thai decor add to the authenticity of Erawans experience.Ps you pay minimal corkage if you take your own wine.

Popular with the locals. One more Asian in SA that I find a bit underwhelming. Kitchen ok, but at a sporty price tag. Is this kind of exotic really a thing? Been twice and this time tried their crispy duck signature dish. Its big. For R200. And my own curries have more character even with a supermarket curry paste.

It was an upmarket Thai with friendly super-efficient Thai staff and served great food.It now looks scruffy, the food is a shadow of what it was and the service is terrible.New local staff with no knowledge of the food, no attempt at a friendly welcome, just sullen and amateurish. Our waitress looked surprised when we asked if we could order.
