We had breakfast. The croissant with scrambled egg was really good. The eggs were light and fluffy. Hubby had poached egg and wors with sourdough. We shared the flapjacks with fruit - we could do with a bit more than 3 thin slices of strawberry. Order your second cup of coffee for R15 is a great special. There is inside seating on an enclosed area with good air flow. There is a little play area for young children. Overall a good experience and friendly service.

Lovely family-owned restaurant. Went for their #winexperience and it didnt disappoint! The food was delicious and not too much of it, the manager and staff were delightful and the price was well worth it. Great place for an evening out with friends.

Weve only ever popped in for a quick drink after doing calls in the area but they are friendly, accommodating, and efficient. They are also very popular with the locals in our area. Its a great family place.

The vibe was amazing. On a very cold and rainy day this was a welcoming safe haven with trendy music and amazing food.I ordered a Medium Well 200g Rump with Pepper saucd and Sweet Potato Mash. The Mash and Sauce combined with the meat in a single bite provided me with a mind blowing experience. If you like a bit of bite with a creamy texture as you enjoy your tasty steak you should definitely give this combo a try.

Very happy with food and friendly service. Nice little play area for kids. Lovely menu : I have only tried their starters, but chili poppers were top class. (You can choose wrapped in bacon or breadcrumbs). Grilled calamari was to die for and will def be back for more.

Service was excellent. Manager was checking in on customers and was aware of what we ordered from waitress.Prices are reasonable.The milkshakes are delicious. The salted caramel shake I ordered was not too sweetDecent chicken wings, although my daughter did not like the char on the wings, but then it is woodfired so that is to be expected.

A little hidden gem with exceptional staff who are friendly and professional. The world was great and served within a great time frame. Definitely worth a visit if you in the area. Great for meetings and social catch ups. The children play area may make this tricky so pick your time wisely for meetings!

Pleasant waiters, not overly attentive once were seated. Once we got their attention, they were quick to respond though.Fantastic chocolate milkshake. Triple Choc - Very filling. Seemed like choc pieces, choc icecream, choc syrup. I thought I had died and gone to choc heaven. Cant recall the price, but it is pricey.Chicken sandwich was an open sandwich, for R75. Chips included.Overall, good taste for this sandwich. Some pieces of chicken were flavourless - this could just be how the spices were used.I would go back for the monster milk shake.

This place still tops my list for the foodie at heart. With menu items rangeing from Seafood, salads, through a selection of premium cut steaks and burgers in your choice of beef or ostrich in house patties. Not to mention the most delectable desserts. My favorite being the baked cheesecake of course. Perfect for a family get together, business lunch or those undecided first dates. The Eatery has it all in my opinion. I was hooked from first bite.

If friendliness could be packaged and served medium to rare with a side of good service The eatery would be the place to find it.The overall warm embrace as you walk into the restaurant is overwhelming. With the sweet aroma or of pertly cooked meat gently teasing your senses and guiding your tastebuds to the sweet nectar it so deserves.The food was delicious and cooked to the utmost perfection with a range of choices and flavours to explore yet never overwhelming you with menu options.I had the pork ribs witch please me to the core.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.

Delicious burgers and chips! We were lucky enough to have takeaway burgers made for us as the restaurant was closing soon. The staff are so friendly, and helpful and the kitchen staff make some delicious burgers! The menu looks good along with reasonable prices. Will definitely be back for a sit-in meal.

Expensive considering the quality of the meat and atmosphere of the restaurant. There were a lot of screaming kids and the food was slightly disappointing. I had the steak Diane which was quite nice, but my friend ordered the ribs and the quality of the cut was abysmal. It was clearly the cheapest cut of ribs with a lot of sinew and fat, and considering they cost R300, we felt ripped off when we sent them back and were charged full price. The wine list could do with some improvement and they only have one red wine by the glass and it’s a completely dull and lifeless red.

Wonderful food and great service. Would definitely recommend the burgers special on Tuesday evenings.I would make one suggestion. The burger and beer / milkshake special add a glass of wine too it as well for the ladies, mommies.

Ordered ribs from your branch last week - was really disappointed because there was a hair and a dead fly on one stack of ribs. Meat was very tough too tasted as if it was cooked the day before and just reheated. Only reason Im rating 2 starts is because I always used to love your food but my latest experience was not good at all. I wont be back.

We booked for their date night special for R325 per couple and boy were we blown away!We were welcomed with 2 complimentary drinks. So I chose the Miss Molly MCC. My husband isnt a big drinker and was driving, so I took one for the team and had both...lolWe then ordered the yummiest chilli poppers with berry sauce, which I would never thought of putting with it, but I was pleasantly surprised. This wasnt part of their date night special (just a fyi).We then had the 400g wood fire-grilled Sirloin to share with a diane sauce, chips (you each get a very generous bowl) and a salad to share. I could have eaten the salad by myself - and I dont eat salad as it is usually the same boring generic salad at restaurants, but not here.My husband ordered the cheesecake and I ordered the Churros. I dont think I have ever understood the term of your eyes rolling to the back of your head, until now. Often if I order them, they are either oily or not completely cooked through. These were light and crispy.As if that all blew us way, we had the privilege to be served by Nicole. My husband ordered a coke, but they had not got cold enough yet, which is totally understandable. She preempted and bought a coke and a diet coke for my husband. That shows the difference in staff here.Nicole was just the right amount of attentive and we had great banter with her that made us not feel like just any old customer.I forgot to mention that we arrived quite late and obviously the staff had to clean and prep for the next day, so the kitchen was closed. I wanted the churros and when I asked and realised it was closed, Nicole said it was not a problem and arranged it.I said we could leave it, but she assured me it was quick and not a problem. Honestly, if you ever book there, ask for her, you wont be disappointed.Everything tied together to be a very memorable date night thanks to the Eatery Wood Fired Grill and Nicole.We will definitely be back!

We absolutely LOVE The Eatery. A lovely relaxed atmosphere and an inclusive menu with something for everyone including plantbased me. Their specialities are obviously their magnificent steaks, ribs and burgers all cooked over real coals, no gas flavoured steaks here folks!! Service is superb and kids are more than catered for. Probably the best family restaurant in Cape Town!!

Menu somewhat misleading. Ordered the Flapjacks with fruit. Assumed it would be a fruit salad of sorts but the fruit was actually 3 pieces of a single strawberry. Before ordering check with waitron and dont assume.

Fantastic spot for parents with small kids. There is a some playground equipment next to the restaurant that means you can enjoy your meal while the kids are kept busy.Food is generally very good. The burgers are excellent and so is the calamari. The blue cheese ale sauce is outstanding. One small criticism is that their steak cuts are too thin. I have had several over the years here and its hard to get a good medium-rare when the steak is too thin.Staff are always friendly, helpful and attentive.

The food was delicious but unfortunately I felt that although the ribs were absolutely delicious, it seemed a bit pricey for not much meat. More bone than meat unfortunately, but still extremely tasty. Possibly I just wanted more due to the fantastic taste. :p

The burger I had was very delicious and the atmosphere is a calm presence definitely go again ,we loved the sweet potato that was served with the burger instead of the usual chips

I used to love the restaurant but their churros that used to be a favourite, is now just an order of ice cream with one churro chopped into it. The excuse is just that the menu has changed. Really sad because I used to love their Kraken, which also changed in recent months.

I went thr as they accept The Entertainer inly to find tht they dont anymore. Then they did not have what we ordered. Not a bery enjoyable experience at all.

Great vegetarian burger!

Great place to eat or have drinks. Specials on certain days and the Entertainer makes it affordable for students. We love to go for drinks on Sunday evenings after church at St Stephens. It can be very popular on weekdays so worth booking!

We pop in often after school for a treat. There is a good childrens menu and great play area. It is situated outside so it is not suitable for wet weather. Summer time is a hit! The staff are attentive and friendly. The food is often slow in coming out. Luckily we are patient!

I really loved this restaurant. It is a really great way to start your weekend after a long week. The steak was absolutely incredible and a perfect medium rare as I requested (nothing left for a doggy bag). The service was excellent and our waitress was super friendly. The bonus was that this restaurant is also on the Entertainer voucher app.

The food isnt cheap but I would definitely say you get what you pay for. The portions were large and the sides were as good as the mains. A waitress was soo attentive she brought me extra sauce that I wanted without me having to ask which is a new experience for me. The chirros are Great!

Tried go for Sunday lunch at around 14:30. Waiter welcomed us in (Myself and partner) and asked us the usual questions, table for two and proceeded to show us to our seats.Whilst doing this, an aggressive waiter yelled from further inside the establishment Dude, only after 3PM! We cant serve them! he screamed that to the waiter and then the waiter stopped in his tracks, and abandoned his current task of showing us to our seats.The waiter then told us exactly what the rude waiter shouted We cannot serve you now as we are too full he said with an extremely uncomfortable smile on his face - as if we did not hear Mr Rude waiter yell that exact thing. So comical.We then had to stop in our tracks, and were escorted out of the establishment. Felt like we were shoplifters or something. Rather embarrassing and disappointing.While anyone can understand that when a place reaches capacity, thats that. But Perhaps communicate this to all staff so everyone is on the same page, it was not cool being welcomed in and taken to a table and then chased away.You need to learn some very basic & simple MANNERS.

This restaurant has excellent food and some of it is quite unique. However, the service tends to be very slow and they are unwilling to make any minor changes to the food. Otherwise, I would recommend it for a good meal.

My daughter and ±16 of her friends celebrated a 21st birthday at this restaurant. The food was good but the staff was hostile towards them from the start and complained that they were making to much noice, and threatened to charge my daughter (a student)t for the people who did not show up. The waiter took away the extra table and seated other guests at it. I phoned the restaurant and asked to speak to the owner (Marius) but he has yet to call me. The restaurant was aware of the fact that it was a 21st birthday celebration, in other words young people, and if they dont cater for big groups who tend to be loud they should have told us not to come.

Lovely spot for after work dinner or a celebration. Warm, cosy atmosphere on a very cold night with heaters and body heat from a good crowd. 😊 Food always tasty but service was left wanting on this particular evening. Its one of our favourite spots so well be back.

Every experience at The Eatery has been an amazing one. The fillet steak Diane is sublime. We were really impressed by the service on our most recent visit; they brought us extra prawns because the prawns we received were apparently smaller than usual.

The Eatery Wood Fired Grill located in Claremont, Rondebosch Cape Town, has the best burgers in this area. The Ranchero Burger is simply delicious. The setting is quaint with a decent play area for the little ones. Service and food absolutely deserve all 5 stars.

We like this place because its got a small jungle gym play area for our 2 year old. One of the few spots you can drink a beer and be within arms reach of your kid. They have a full, meaty menu too, but we usually just go for drinks and chips to kill some hours before toddler bed time. Will have to stay for a steak soon!
