Great service, well priced and delicious food! Will support the Los gem of a spot over and over again.

Service was great, waitress was friendly, view awesome. When one specifically asks if there is dairy in the dish and the waitress says no, you accept the answer. When your dish arrives swimming in butter you realize your waitress has no clue what dairy is. You get a little laminated card on your table for a snapscan menu. On this card it says you have almond milk. When you ask for coffee and almond milk you are told Salt only does oat milk. Then dont put a card in front of me that says Almond milk. Guys really, Im trying to support smaller restaurants during this challenging time, but as my clients expect me to know my product and to produce correct information, the same should be for restaurants. Because I dont like to complain I tried to eat around the saturated in butter dish, but now find myself so sick as I cannot eat dairy. I am therefore unable to support your restaurant again.

Friendly and engaging staff welcome you at this pop up style restaurant that offers an interesting menu. I had their pork belly dish that was delicious. On the down side the seating is very uncomfortable and probably intentionally so go ensure diners dont stick around for too long. 😎

Nice place with honest food. As it has more of a bar character it is nice to hang out there, too.The portions were a bit small, so perfect for a lunch or you just get some starters and a dessert (which is definitely worth it).We had the caramel cheesecake, that was a perfect ending for the evening.

Came here based on Lonely Planet’s recommendation and totally enjoyed my dinner and breakfast here. Go with the small plates, they are ALL super delicious and affordable. Calamari and cerviche are standouts. Mains are quite big in portions and great for sharing too. Try their local craft beers which are fantastic too. Service is friendly, warm and prompt. Overall highly recommended!

Nice interior.food is good but could definitely be more flavorful. Had the butternut ravioli with sage butter and it was quite blend. The ravioli seemed to be preheated or cooked from freezer. Waiters are preoccupied with their mobile phones and image than serving customers.

Casual and friendly atmosphere. Intriguing menu and a delicious IPA on tap. The small plates are pricey because the servings are small. Convenient parking nearby. Lovely view over Kalk Bay but offset by the traffic and noise through the wide open windows.

Very nice restaurant with a rustic feel to it. Im not vegan but the vegan croissant pictured in the review is a must - it is delicious. The restaurant very good and the waiters are pleasant and very welcoming. The venue gets full quickly during the early morning so get there early otherwise late morning guarantees you a table.

We visit Salt every morning for our coffee fix. Their morning coffee special is unbeatable at R10 before 9AM. The best staff and an amazing, friendly, local vibe. Dog friendly. The owner, Nic, is present and on-the-ball. The best spot for coffee in Kalk Bay - hands down. The food is great too!

Nice space. But I think better for alcohol. For food go to Olympia. This Food was quite amature: not tasty or exciting. Felt like a high school student put it together to try impress their parents for dinner, in a comical sort of way. Small plates, bigger prices. Lower expectations or instead go next door to Olympia for top top food. The waitress was, however, awesome and made the whole thing fun.

Quick friendly service, calm atmosphere, healthy and nutritious meals, beautiful presentation, vegeterian friendly. Starters and main dish were wholesome. Golden milk was perfect.

A wonderful little place situated on Kalk Bay main road. This charming place offers great food with food for all appetites. The tables overlook the busy main road which makes for great entertainment. Tables are limited, so plan ahead if you need a quick bite during peak times

It was ok, the team is super friendly, i ate pork belly, wasnt the best i have had, but it was ok. The ambience and deco is really creative, only the chairs are uncomfortable if you plan to sit for long, i guess this is by design.

Trendy, industrial look restaurant on Main Road opposite Kalk Bay Harbour. Service is good, the Sliders were tasty but the pork belly needs to be rendered.

We discovered Salt by chance, and its FANTASTIC!! My wife and I had just come from several days in Cape Town, but we both agreed that Salt was both the best and the healthiest meal we had! Very fresh ingredients, creative preparations, wonderful atmosphere!! Dont miss it!

Nice little Restaurant at the Main road with view on the ocean. The variety of offered starters, mains and deserts is enough but not too much. Our starters, the octupus and the peas were very tasty, the kudu Gulasch and the line fish as well. But for me as a good eater the portions were a litte to small. But with the delicious cheesecake as desert, even I was full. We can definetly recommend this place.

The guys, blond hair and dark hair, were quite stressed, not friendly as we were used from two days ago. The young lady two days ago was much more friendly and helpful. The blond one, sorry but we are foreigners, spoke with, in our ears, a very strong accent and was not willing to talk in a way so that we could understand him. Maybe they dont like people not being young like they are. After an excellent meal we left with a feeling not to be very welcome. Sorry guys but a good restaurant is not just the food also means hospitality, a smile and friendly service.Second visit 2 stars.Summary: it depends on the service staff if we would recommend this place.

This place is absolutely terrible. There is no covid 19 compliance please do not go there rather stay safe. We told our waiter so many times how uncomfortable we felt with him not wearing a mask properly and only got complacent responses and still no mask wearing. Food is ok but we had to wait over 1 hour for the second round of tapas. When we asked the waiter he did not apologised nor said anything useful we had to specify he should go find out from the kitchen how long it takes. All in all we had a terrible night and feel quite unsafe about their compliance to covid 19 regulations

Absolutely and totally brilliant! Mid Covid lockdown this was what the doctor ordered. Food was exquisite, service was brilliant and all at a very, very reasonable price. The area is very conducive to some family time and I would suggest support this amazing venue. I trust you will also be very pleasantly surprised.

Popped in for coffee and dessert and well worth it. The fondant and ice cream were very good as was the coffee. Generators kicked in when the SA government tried to spoil our evening again and the service was timeous and friendly. Surprised that smoking was still allowed on the pavement table though. Great Ocean views and menu selection was good

Shared the burger (great!) and the pork belly bahn mi (good but lacked a bit of seasoning).Its a bit loud being next to the main road and there are a lot of people taking up table space with laptops.

So you know sometimes you find a place and you have to review it. Well this is the place. We went for breakfast cause the misses wanted to and it was fantastic. The food was awesome but what really made it was the service. We were travelling on our honeymoon and wanted to eat all of the food. Our server who I found out at dinner was the owner wrote us a huge list of other places to go when asked for recommendations. We made a res for one of those places and when on the way we redirected our Uber to go back. We were met with hugs and thank you for coming back and then proceeded to have the sirloin which I asked for blue and the misses asked for medium. Killed it. Best steak I have had in a long time. If you want a great food experience but also a welcomed atmosphere this is the the place to go.

South African food is very good. These guys are well priced, know their SA wine and are foodies. Loved my trip to Capetown and this was the highlight. If you are on a business trip eat here every night.
