Updated review: I had a terrible first experience and the general manager contacted me to apologize for the incident. But when we went back on the weekend and made a booking for the Spanish brunch and it was only a minor upgrade. There were tons of miscommunications between the server, hostess, and the manager. They kept thinking I wanted the manager to come and explain the menu. The food took a long time and was cold. I understand that they have tapas but the set menu of two tiny portions of egg and paella was not sufficient for brunch for 190rand.I really wanted to change my mind about this place but didn’t wanna lie. I appreciate them making an effort to comp our meal to make amends for our first group of 12 but two strikes and I won’t be coming back.
We were easily accommodated without making a reservation. Our waiter provided good service. The place can be quite a vibe later in to the night, and the drinks and food are a tad on the pricey side
Great vibe, great drinks and great music. Prices are pretty good for the area. We had a lovely waitress who was very on point. Would definitely go back for another beer!
My main course pasta (mushroom papardelle??) was the size of a starter and twice the price.Good for drinks if you dont mind your servers confusing Weisss for Lagers. Will definitely pass on this place next time.
Fun vibe, good variety of cocktails, the staff was very kind and helpful. Music was a bit too loud at night over the other weekend, but there was a dj so it probably would have been more suited for a group than the one on one we wanted. Otherwise we enjoyed it.
Had a lovely alone session after school today. Food was amazing and the service was superb. The tall and dark gentleman with dreadlocks (sorry I missed his name) is an amazing waiter. It starts with the service with me and really the food is beautiful there! 😊A really great scenery also. 💃
Great service. Food is good but for the price, it can be better. Too much mayo on the tapas meals
What a fantastic experience. The food was great the dances or Monday for the atmosphere was effervescent!
Loved the vibe, especially on a Sunday. Dj playing, drinks flowing and staff extremely attentive. Abongile was amazing. I thought I lost my phone and she helped me look for it and even called the next day to find out if I had found it. Staff are what makes the place what it is and here they are superstars.
Good ambience. Good welcome by the hostess. Service was not ideal at all.
An awesome experience friendly staff and an enthusiastic audience to the beautiful dancers anc guitar accomplishments
The vibe is so catchy, I was really enjoying the energy and the music. About an hour before closing, a different DJ started his set and they literally only played slow Xhosa music - not an issue but I truly felt that the music was solely for the enjoyment of the staff, who later become unfriendly, almost rushing us out. When we ordered our drinks, they couldnt be bothered to garnish our drinks. I felt so unwelcome, it was honestly unreal the way we were made to feel and it made me less inclined to tip the waitress.
Excellent service, great vibe for a SundayDefinitely coming back
Great tapas, great music and good atmosphere. Definitely come here for some sundowners and snacks.
Excellent! Great service, great food and really great music on a Friday evening. Great place for After Graft Draughts.
We wanted burgers and at first we were apprehensive about this place as its a Tapas Bar. But boy were their burgers good!?!?! An hour and a half later and we are full like we ate 2 mins ago.Their decor and layout is appealing to the eye, the sidewalk tables and seats are great if you like people watching too 😁😛
The service was absolutely spectacular. Distancing regulations very closely adhered to and as always, the space was completely welcoming. Ive yet to try the food, but its definitely a recommendation if youre in the area
Good food at relatively good prices. Worth a visit if you are craving some genuine tapas. They have some nice tapas specials during the summer months, like much cheaper combinations of three tapas or 5 tapas for a table. It is a local staple and for good reason. Be sure go take a look if you are in or around the Cape Town CBD.
La Parada has a few shops around Cape Town, but this Bree Street one is my favourite.Situated on the bustling strip of Cape Towns Bree Street, opens on to the busy street and is always humming.Large space with tons of seating and large open windows to take in the city vibe.Great tapas style menu and great winelist as well as all the other usual suspects.Always have a great time here and the food is brilliant.
This is a busy happening place, evidenced by the crowds and noise. Upon arrival, hostess was polite, showed us our reserved table promptly. We looked forward to a goof evening of good food and chatting. Our 1st set of 7 food items came quickly. I have been to many tapas places and sadly, the food quality and taste was not as good as others I have experienced. The garlic prawns were not very fresh as the flesh of the prawns was mushy. The taste of the duck croquettes was gamey. The best tasting items were the beef short ribs and pork belly. Our bottle of Prosecco was served not well-chilled. It also took a long time (about half hour) to serve our desserts - churros and chocolate brownie. Only the churros were ok. The brownie was lukewarm at best.Overall, sorry to say, I was expecting La Parada to be better as it seemed to be popular. Won’t be back.
Great Tapas and received excellent service.
Love the coffer at Laparada and they have some really good tapas for sharing and must admit i find their prices as great value for moneyLovely service from the last waitress who helped us when I was there. They need to update website though as it shows them as closing early and we almost went some else luckily my friend drove past and called to say they were indeed open!
Extremely accommodating with our shoot. Fantastic food and fairly prices drinks as can be expected from La Parada. Always a vibe 😁
Good ‘party/dinner’ vibe for a Friday evening, nice music and ambience on the streets of the Cape Town CBD. Food was excellent. I ordered prawns, tuna steak and chocolate lava cake. Would recommend these dishes! The service was okay. Staff were a little unfriendly and impatient. Not the first time I visited this place and had good food coupled with sub-par service.
The Food was amazing. I would recommend the Tuna Tacos and the Pork Belly
On several occasions that l have been there, there is no one at the entrance to welcome guests and assist with covid protocols. After sitting ourselves down, noone came to assist us. We had to ask to be served
One of my favorite places for a quick bite. Always crowded. Good ambiance.
Fantastic range of tapas. Excellent service.
Patrick was a fantastic waiter he was so knowledgeable and ran such an excellent service he is a real ambassador for the brand
Good music great vibe Sunday hip hop with dj smashy 🔥🔥🔥
Great vibe, food was nice but I thought it over priced for the portions.
Tasty food, and classy drinks. A place where all the customers are treated with respect.
I had a night Ill never forget.
Recommend the V&A La Parada instead, better service and overall experience.
Excellent music excellent place restored my faith in cape town
Seasoning was in short supply, but the service was efficient and friendly...
Food and music is terrific
Great place, the live music on Fridays is amazing, the food is top tier with a diverse menu.Great venue to start the weekend!
Addicting! Everything we had was absolutely delicious that we couldnt stop ordering! They also have a nice drink menu and delicious local beers. The poppadews are a must try as is the duck. They were unfortunately out of churros by the time we got to dessert but the cookies and cream was yummy. Nice atmosphere too with the indoor/outdoor feel, we sat on the barstools outside looking in.
Cool spot, good selection of drinks, great staff!
Lovely place always come for lunch !
Outstanding food with great specials! Super evening!
Great live music. Special. Super food!! Great with a group of friends or as a couple.
We had a lovely dinner here. We were planning to just have a couple of bites but ended up eating a full dinner. We loved the live music and the vibe of the place. The beef short ribs are to die for. Ill be back soon!
Waiters just didnt care
Enjoyed tasty tapas and drinks on a Friday evening. Nice casual vibe with DJ playing catchy tunes. Gets a bit loud, not a place for a romantic dinner. Bar is well stocked and will definitely quench your thirst. Worth a visit but watch your bill as it can get very pricey.
Great tapas, food was excellent! Good vibe and good happy hour specials!
Great experience... Awesome vibe
Top dollar
The chicken burger special was terrible. I basically had a mouthful of onions and a whole avo. The gin cocktail was good though
I have normally gone to la parada for after works drinks and this venue is perfect for it...in fact it is perfect for summer hangouts. It is preferable if you wait to be seated as you will get assistance quicker. Our waitress for the evening was amazing (friendly, helpful, efficient). Two of us ordered mains which were delicious (portions were on the smaller side and also I am greedy)...overall a lovely evening spent here.
Had my birthday dinner here last year and I had the best service anyone could ever ask for on their birthday! Delicious food and impressive wine selection. A bit pricey but worthwhile.
Love this place! Great live music on Friday nights. Grab a spot where you can have a nice breeze and enjoy your beer. The meals involving tuna are to die for.
Laparada is always such a vibe! Easy place to meet people
Loved the music
Visited this restaurant on a number of occasions when we have visited Capetown. The food is delicious and not the usual bog standard menu. Prices reasonable and good atmosphere with friendly staff.
Visited this place on First Thursday and was actually pleasantly surprised. The vibe was amazing and integration impressive. Will definitely make my way to this place again to check out their food selection. I would recommend.
Good food and drinks.Be sure to make a booking, it gets busy, quite a hip and happening place. A trendy crowd hangs out here.Food and drinks are reasonably priced. They sell craft beers, shooters cocktails and hard liquor.Food is cooked by a chef who takes pride in cooking.
Excellent food. Great service.
Visited this place 3 times in our 5 day stay in Cape town. Fantastic. The food is outstanding with such a focus on quality and the staff made our evenings the best we have had in Cape town. This place has an absolute must visit recommendation from us from Scotland. Amazing
Really enjoy La Parada Bree st. To be greeted at the door today by Mario the GM and the service of our waitress whose name escapes me was outstanding. Food excellent. Will be back very soon.
This place is outstanding. The Chicken Feast, 280R, to share 2-3 persons is out of this world. Pork Belly awesome. Staff great. Service great. No better place in Bree Street
La Parada is a gem among many of the fabulous little eateries in the city. The decor is understated but very cool. The pressed ceilings and subway tiles give it a modern but anchored vibe that resonates well with the trendy crowd that frequent the place. The food is a real treat, everything is served Tapas style and every mouth full is scrumptious and delicious! A bit on the pricey side but well worth it if looking for a fun night out!
Very lovely vibe! Amazing tapas too!
Very good service, I love this restaurantThe last time there was a chef Jonathan deltour who took care of us like we were at home. So nice. Thanks guys... carrying on with the good job
We got bunch of different tapas and beer. Very good food but little pricey. Nice atmosphere. Busy place.
Wow this place is great fun. Their food is absolutely Devine. Love their red wine selection. Staff is amazing.
