(Review based on coffee & croissants, since thats all Ive tried.) This is a lovely spot, with an unbeatable location, and the coffee is good.The croissants are just ok (though this is a matter of taste – you might like them more than me.) The plain croissants are alright, but the almond croissants are iced and very full of very sweet paste. I reckon almond croissants should have just small amount of very almond-y paste, and no icing at all – just a few flaked almonds on top.Picky? Yup! But croissants are about a few good-quality ingredients put together just right.Anyway, will definitely be back for the coffee and to try the food.

Going to Dalebrook on Saturday mornings has become a ritual pastime for my husband and I. So far, weve gone through the entire breakfast menu (served until 11h45) and have now started doing lunch there to try all of the lunch menu. Amazing staff, delicious food, and really great coffee!

Popped in for cuppucino. Thoroughly loved it here. Its in a quieter spot. Loved the decor. Super friendly waitresses. Great cuppucino and chocolate cake. Will have to go back to try breakfast - the menu is rather interesting. Loved the story about how the Cafe came about, printed at the back of the drinks menu. We watched the train go by and just relaxedUpdated: we returned for breakfast. Hubby had the kippers on corn fritter. I had toast, poached egg, bacon and pork sausage. We sat in the open courtyard. Popular venue due cyclist as there is a small passage to park bikes.

I ordered my chocolate ganache birthday cake from Dalebrook cafe at 10am last Friday morning for pick-up on Saturday at 10am (24 hours notice as requested). The order was confirmed and the staff called me back later on Friday to confirm once again. I was running a few minutes late on Saturday morning so I called to let the staff know I would be picking the cake up at 10.30 - they confirmed this is no problem and the cake would be waiting for me. I arrived at 10.30 for pick up. The server at the till had a cheesecake waiting for me. I said I am picking up a chocolate ganache cake. It was not ready for me and they reused the same, very dirty box to put the chocolate cake in that previously held the cheesecake. When I queried the dirty box, they claimed they did not have another box to give me. The server also broke the cake putting it into the box. I am extremely disappointed with the level of service as the cake is very expensive. I cant really believe they didnt have any spare boxes. This is very unhygienic, especially in a pandemic situation. Added to this, while the manager was apologetic and eventually said I didnt need to pay for the box, the whole experience was so disappointing that I wont be frequenting Dalebrook again.

Great little Bistro in Kalkbay. Small menu, but caters for most palettes. Pork belly and oxtail dishes were delicious. Definitely worth a try.

They have some really interesting things on their menu - like toast and comb honey or a pork belly eggs breakfast. Dalebrook is a must-visit for a swim in the tidal pool; but afterwards, cross the road to this Kalk bay find

This is a lovely place. The service is great and the food is delicious. There is a wonderful menu with sweet and savoury to tantalize all taste buds. Or pop in to buy a homemade loaf of bread or quiche. The coffees are superb. The very brave should try the apple and ginger shot. Parts of this coffee shop is wheelchair accessible and the bathroom may be tricky for a wheelchair.

Just love this place! The breakfasts and coffee are really good and the staff is friendly and attentive.

What an awesome little gem. Came across it by accident but what a lucky find. They have beautiful breakfasts and amazing service.

Dalebrook restaurant and deli will cater to all your needs when its quality you are after. There are a number of breads to choose from,all expertly baked and to go with it,theres an assortment of cheeses. The restaurant has a sit down menu and a variety of prepared meals to take home. As a bonus - if you arrive before 8:00 you only play R20.00 for your choice of coffee.

Open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays and such an amazing all round experience. Food was all delicious, ample and good value for money, wine was great. Staff were so friendly and pro. Well chosen live music was such a treat. All round, the best night out one could ask for.

Dalebrook Cafe is the perfect spot for a hot coffee after an ice cold swim in the Dalebrook tidal pool. They have implemented effective Covid-19 precautions to ensure that the cafe doesn’t get too crowded. They also have a breezy, sunny outdoor dining area. The staff are friendly and attentive and the coffee is worth writing home about. Come early to avoid missing out on the chocolate and almond croissants as they can sell out on busy days.

Great choice for a healthy, wholesome meal. Friendly staff, delicious food, and the option to sit inside or ourside. Just opposite the entrance to Dalebrook tidal pool, and very popular during the weekend. They have a well stocked choice of healthy takeaways as well.

A sad experience of buying Croissants here today. They were individually wrapped in brown paper bags so I didn’t look at them before I got home. At R 38 per croissant you would expect something special. On opening them we found they were burnt 🥵A very disappointing experience!

Some of the best cakes and coffee Ive enjoyed along the muizenburg to Kalk Bay strip. Great service , clean and wonderful atmosphere. I want to try their mussels next time Im in the area as it seems to be a hot favourite. Stay safe all 💓

We happened upon this lovely little cafe as we drove past. We had coffees and the soup of the day which was tomato and pesto with chiabata bread.Service was super quick and the staff very friendly.After visiting we stood across the road and watched a Whale splashing around in the sea.

The service ended up being a tiny bit slow for us but we dont entirely hold it against them. Were not the biggest fans of blackboard menus either (were just fussy that way ;)) and sadly I had to send my smoothie back, which had us waiting even longer. Other than that, it was very nice, everyone was friendly and accommodating and the coffee and smoothies were very nice 👌

A relaxed atmosphere in this homely deli with plenty of homemade goodies to browse or purchase. Homemade breads for sale as well. The lunch menu is compact but well prepared and plated and delicious. The carrot/ butternut soup hit the spot and the pork belly with mash superb. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Easy to access, by train or car, and plenty of nearby parking. Delicious breakfast, and wide range of food to suit all preferences. Helpful, friendly staff and good service. A bit noisy when its full house - not easy to have a proper conversation. All in all, a pleasant eating experience.
