Food was good and view was good but the service wasnt as great as we expected.Our milkshakes were given to us without any serviettes. The waitress who was assisting us was all over the place and took her more than 10 min to bring us some serviettes to wipe the table as the milkshake she brought was over flowing.There were other waitresses and waiters standing around which should have been assisting clients.It was an experience that left us disappointed. Key focus for this restaurant would definitely be customers service.

Great affordable prices. I had a simple plate of chips and a hot chocolate and I loved it. And an amazing view of the harbour.

It was very nice, the food was good and very affordable. The restaurant has a very good view of the marina which made my whole experience even more enjoyable.

Berthas is lovely. Right on the Simonstown Harbour, its setting is charming and the food was good. I had absolutely delicious seared tuna. Our party (we were 5) had good food. The main meals were fine; some of the desserts were okay. The setting, the wine list and the willing, friendly service compensate.

This place is simply awesome. Location is hard to beat. You can literally have a meal a few meters from the ocean. Food is amazing. Well priced. Generous portions. Staff are super friendly. Its hard to find a fault. I would highly reccomend.

Food is good, views are amazing. Customer service needs some serious improvement. Our waiter didn’t even greet us or introduce himself and then we battled to get service through out our whole time there, changed waiters 3 times and non of them said thanks before leaving us with a new waiter. Would have given a 5 star but the below average service brought the rating down.

With out a doubt, some of the best fish and chips around. This restaurant has a beautiful view of the bay.

The catch of the day was a very decent portion and prepares with a very tasty and simple marinade. The melva pudding was delicious! Service was excellent and you can dine enjoying a very nice view of the port.

Lovely on the water location. had the prawns. NO, edible, but definitely not the best in town. tables and menus need some attention. a little cleaning is needed.

Amazing view. If you were on the road all day you just feel like sitting down and have a bite to eat no matter where, but this place really refreshed my spirit and serve a great meal with great refreshments. Best service I had around this area. Had spectacular live entertainment from some local choir - just loved the whole set-up. Friendly staff - clean and neat - a bit pricey but well worth it.

Really good food. We were 8 adults and 5 kids and everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent.

Great location overviewing Simon’s Town harbour. Friendly and efficient service. I had the Bertha’s combo all good, especially the battered deep fried Hake. The strawberry juice is quite refreshing. Malva pudding for dessert is similar to sticky toffee pudding.

Very large seafood restaurant with about 500 seats. Large selection of mainly seafood available, but meat dishes are slso available. Wine selection is also adequate. Lovely view overlooking the harbour is very tranquil. Food was prepared and served well, but portions are small. Need to add s starter or a sweet.

Lovely sea side restaurant with lovely food

Enjoyed a filling breakfast on a Sunday morning drive on our trip around the Peninsula. A bit pricey. However nice and relaxing atmosphere 😌 😎 👌

The food was phenomenal. Taste straight out the water and too your plate so fresh so good and the staff was very warm and friendly.

Spent some me time in Peaceful Simons Town...lunched at Berthas. Nice that there was a platter for 1...that was actually priced right and not expensive.

Great setting with fabulous views. Unfortunately the chef burnt my ribs which tasted like charcoal. Waiter Michael (Lungiso is his Xhosa name ) was great. We had a very relaxing lunch.

The food was a bit underwhelming when we visited.The service was a slow as well, even though they didnt appear to be very busy. We ordered seafood platters but were not impressed by the quality or quantity of these platters.

Had one last breakfast here before heading back to Pretoria. Definitely a highlight of our trip! Very relaxing vibe and lovely view of the harbour. The breakfast roll (egg and bacon) was great and even comes with a coffee!

1st time eating at Berthas ..worst service ever..sunday 8 Aug ..lunch time..placed order..waited 50mins for food..after waiting for 50mins and extremely hungry the waiter Brenna arrived with wrong order..no hot beverage menu..coffee arrived cold..manager offered to not charge us for wrong order ..however ..first and definitely last visit..service dont even deserve a one star rating.

Friendly services, food very good but was disappointed by the utensils that was not cleaned properly, milk jug had two brown rings on the inside, the toilets were not in a very good state. The cleaning personnel need to be jacked up.

Amazing food, with a very good price! We went on a rainy day and it was still a nice experience. There is a nice kids space where our friends’ kids played the entire lunch.

The oysters were good but there was an issue with billing that I queried and the manageress (Mercia) was the most unhelpful and rude manager I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She refused to make it better and clearly the R12 was more important to her than customer service or satisfaction. The R12 was not the issue so much as her appalling attitude. She turned her back on me, muttering under her breath while I was STILL speaking to her, and walked away. Uncompromising, obstinate and rude. Totally ruined the entire experience and I will never go back. (Clint the waiter was great.)

Had sirloin, was nice with a nice salad. Salad was a bit bland but adding some feat and avo sorted it out. View is nice. Only issue is that they dont have an all day breakfast, even though you can add bacon and egg to any meal.

Meal and service really poor. Manager on duty needs to be nore attentive. Fish totally tasteless... And really an overfried fishcake. Not to mention the starters drenched in oil. So much for claiming they have famous fish. And they could put more effort into the flavours of the food, tartar sauce couldnt even save the fish. If it was not for the view I would have given it 1 star. Will definitely not be returning and wont recommend to anyone!

Lovely vibe, friendly staff. Best calamari ever. I like waiters checking on my table and not just serving and disappearing, but did manage to flag our waiter down for a beer order.

I ordered 2 beers and it cost me R120. They were standard local beers made in cape Town. I want impressed.That being said. The staff seemed incredibly friendly and were very willing to help out. They were also being jovial with one another and made the atmosphere seem very pleasant.

Great location and historically acceptable food. HOWEVER, to wait 15min to be served on a quite day is unacceptable. To be served fried calamari without removing the skin, is just plain lazy. To have rubbery grilled baby calamari is unacceptable. To serve a watery garlic sauce is unacceptable. To call your waiter when you need drinks is unacceptable. To then be given the wrong bill completed the comedy of errors. You need to up your game outside tourist season!
