Cafe Ganesh is a beautiful place with beautiful people and they serve delicious food. We went there for my birthday and I can confidently say that Cafe Ganesh is 100% LGBTQ friendly and openly accepting of all races, sexualities and any orientation. I recommend this beautiful spot to anyone looking for an authentic South African experience. Love love love ♥️♥️♥️

The service was extremely dismal, alcohol selection was very limited with no cocktails available. The food took a long time to be served and there was no music. They advertised Snapscan on their door but surprisingly they did not let you pay with Snapscan. A very big inconvenience to many. The card machine was also faulty and the transaction did not go through. The bathrooms were not very clean but alright considering.

The service here was not good. Very inattentive staff, and they were very disinterested when they actually came to the table. They had the audacity to write what the tip needed to be, and added that to our total. Wouldnt be too big an issue if the service was worth the tip.The food was really good and well priced, but the drinks were ridiculously expensive for what we got.Ill go back for the food, but Im hoping that the service has improved somewhat.

Had food there yesterday. The atmosphere is really nice and the prices are good, but the hygiene apparently is not.Got food poisoning and have been sick all night through to the morning. My boyfriend is sick as well. Everything we ate came right back out and we both feel terrible. So go there for drinks, dancing & the nice atmosphere, but leave the food alone.

Review №25

The place needs a serious cleanup and a few very essential renovations. Staff in the kitchen were not wearing gloves, nor were they wearing hair nets. There were dishes piled up in a corner. The cutlery was disgustingly dirty. The cuisine is neither African or Indian or whatever ethnicity they claim to be. The place is old, sticky and stuffy. Next time Ill go drunk. Perhaps that was my mistake. I was too sober to not notice the disgusting pit hole I was in.

Very cool and trendy, cheap food, the lamb roti is divine. Good selection of different African and Indian dishes. Wine is nice and cheap. There is a smoking and a nonsmoking section, but its not really separated, so dont come here if you have breathing problems.

A buzzing place with an eclectic and cosy vibe, the menu is interesting and all the dishes ordered were really delicious. This is a casual venue with limited drink options (mostly beers) and have to be ordered separately from the bar area - expect a short wait for drinks. They serve quarts which are good for sharing and good for savings.

Cafe Ganesh has been around since I was two years old. It is beautifully styled and intimate. The menu is very South African inspired, nice vegetarian and meat dishes. I would recommend the falafel, vegetarian roti and Umngusho (meat stew with samp and beans). The tomato soup is lovely and the samoosas are great! I love Ganesh, we often gather for important family milestones here, the music is also always good. Often with bands or DJs performing. Otherwise quiet and personal

Could be a bit more. Not bad overall, but a few things:CONS:- almost turned away customers at 5.55pm because they start at 6.00pm- meals such as starters which are meant to be eaten by hand should come with water for washing hands AND serviettes by default, not upon request- drinking water could be chilled, not served at room temperature- the lamb chops (my girlfriends order) were a bit off, but we ate them anyway. My rice was undercooked. Also ate anyway (hungry).PROS:- friendly staff. Weve seen far worse.- acceptable ambiance- generous servings! :)
