A well maintained piece of South Africa’s rich history. The unique Cape Dutch architectural design, the century old oaks, the stunning views of the bay and vineyards, the cobblestone and grit walk ways, the beautiful displays in the main house as well as in the barns and especially the inner courtyard with its shallow pool combine to make this a personal favorite. Then of course the restaurant absolutely compliments the venue with a great menu.
What a beautiful experience and very nice presented.
The most divine Christmas picnic lunch, and excellent service. Jonkershuis never disappoints.
Good museum. Could do with some modernization in terms of the layout and interaction with guests.
Staff are great. very educational
If you love heritage and wine then Groot Constantia Wine estate is just the place for you. One of the oldest and richest in heritage this place is a gem. It’s beautiful all year round , just love spending time here.
If you are coming to Cape Town for a holiday, this is definitely a place that you will have to stop at. Purely for the history and beauty of it this wine farm. The Guided tours are interesting as they explain the process of the wines they produce. The tours allow for wine tasting as well as the wine paring. The guides are very patient and are always interacting with there groups. I think i enjoyed the wine tasting the best as our guide explained every wine i had and paired it to a chocolate which definitely made the difference. THIS IS A MUST GO TO...
If you come to Cape Town and only visit one place, this would have to be it. Purely for the history and beauty of it. Its an NPO, which means all wine sold is not for profit to private, but to preserve the land and maintain the jobs created here. Loved the visit.
Nice experience to understand more about the family that started this winery, how they lived, entertained and serviced the world with fine wine. One of a time experience. Plus the grounds are just gorgeous, nestled in the valley with the mountains in the back drop.
Beautiful historical house with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Breathtaking scenery with the mountain to one side and the sea to the other.
Screams with history and absolutely timeless. I enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot. I got to keep my wine glass 😁
Nice peoples, a lot of knowledge and fantastic wine 🤩😍
See how the dutch settlers used to live. A few interesting antiques and paintings. You have to pry and motivate the staff for more info. You are handed an old catalogue showing everything on display, but not informative at all.
Lovely place for the entire family, and beautiful estate with a great wine tasting and tour. Best time to come is 10am weekdays.
Great artifacts on display, you can wine taste while having a look. Staff is friendly and has extensive wine knowledge
If you like cars, a must see if close enough to visit.
Really clean and big estate, the museum is interesting. The view is beautiful. I recommend it
Visited Groot Constantia for a wine tasting with my family and friend from the UK.
Poor impersonal service, cellar tour guide spoke such poor English that even as a local I could not understand her. There are MUCH better wine related experiences to had around Cape Town.
Thank you Bulla and staff. Great wine, great experience.
Interesting exhibits followed by a guided tour showing the wine manufacturing process. Recommended.
The first wine farm in South Africa. Great wine and wonderful dine at Jonkershuis restaurant.

Historic wine estate awesome history and state of the art wine making
Loved Vanessa wine tasting event!
Good quality wines and some interesting dutch history.
Beautifully displayed historical pieces give a clear idea of how the wealthy landowners would have lived.
Staff disinterested. Too many modern touches, so history lost
A wonderful trip I had with wine testing.
Amazing experience, the guides were friendly, definitely the best experience.
Lovely place. Must visit for Capetown tourists
It was cool to see the history we learnt in text books.
Great place to see the history of wine making in Cape Town
Lovely staff so knowledgeable on the wine subject
Very intresting and well organized.
Nice wine and chocolate tour.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and wine tasting
Stunning a must for anyone visiting the Cape
Enjoyed our visit to this beautiful place
The wines were superb but the tour that we were given of the winery and the tasting felt very rushed and the whole thing had a rather touristic feel to it as a result, which took away from the overall feeling
An eye opening experience and also heart breaking to see the way slaves were treated.
Best wine I Cape Town
Tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly
The wines are fantastic
Best wines, great environment
Although there is no Original furniture of Simon Van Der Stel in the buildings,it still is very Interesting to see the Furniture of that Era
Very interesting.

I personally did not think it was a great museum, but the wine is what you go there for anyway.

Magnificent. What splendor this place. Super guided tour with an attentive and passionate guide. Bravo
It is a package bought at Hop on hop off, you can taste five kinds of wine, it is worth experiencing
Super nice mansion. The small exhibition is well maintained and very nice. I would have liked a few more info about the story there. But worth watching if youre there anyway.
Good place to spend the day
Loved it! I was still charmed by the connection to the story!
