The Houtbay museum is quaint but informative about major topics concerning the bays history. Well worth the visit! Took me an hour to go through and to read everything and pay close attention to images, etc.Its a read it yourself type, didnt have any commentary.

A modest quiet museum, with some well displayed artifacts. Very disappointed the beautiful indigenously useful fynbos garden with practical and medicinal uses posted with each plant plus name and botanical reference is not anything like it was ? personally i found it very informative and with each visit quiet eager to discover some more!

A charming village museum focusing on hout bays picturesque past as a fishing and agricultural community. An exciting project for the future was also on display - Dennis Goldberg a struggle hero who stood on trial with Mandela plans to exhibit his art collection at this venue.

It it Friday 4 Jan 19. According to the internet info the museum should be open. It is 10:55. I am standing infront of the gate to the museum and it is closed. I called and the phone just kept on ringing.
