A beautiful spot to get a wonderful view of the bay from Chapmans peak all the way across the bay. I wish there was more signage about the history of the fort more readily available. It would help teach children a bit more about the history of the bay and its significance as they are already interested in jumping on the cannons.

Interesting spot to visit. No signage whatsoever regarding the history of the place, which is a pity. Still kids will enjoy jumping on the cannons and adults will enjoy the unfettered views of Chapmans Peak drive.

Historic place with the cannons used to defend the bay against a possible marine attack coming from the South. It was built by the Dutch and completed by the French. in the late 1700s.
