Consistently great food and good service. I have returned several times and always enjoy the food and atmosphere.

The upstairs dining area is well laid out for social distancing- but the minimalist look creates an echo that makes for very noisy dining.Pasta was delicious but I have to be honest R176 for vegetarian sage butter Ravioli......mmm Im not sure about.Trust, our waiter was excellent.

Good Italian food😋, the only thing is that if you eat inside the restaurant there is too much noise🤫, it is better outside 😊 At the entrance they have sanitizer, a mask is needed when entering and the temperature they test you 😉

I stumbled onto this Italian spot by chance. There was a warm welcome and a buzz about the place even before dinner time. Service was excellent. The wine selection really good and well priced. The complimentary bread and flat bread, a good start. The langoustine pasta was perfect - pasta was al dente, the chili was just enough and the langoustine tails and pieces were tasty. I liked the art on the walls, some of which you can purchase. Will be back one day. Maybe for a first date 😁

Always loved Mastrantonio in JHB. The CT version is as good as its Gauteng sibling. Food was brilliant, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The ambience made it an all round fantastic experience.

Food was fantastic - steak, pasta, salads, and desserts all delicious. Owner even came over and was very gracious. Recommended to us by a friend and we would highly recommend it as well.

A personal favourite for Italian food; consistently delicious pasta with fresh ingredients and great flavours. The pasta itself is always perfectly cooked and the dishes are expertly seasoned. Pictured is one of their ravioli dishes; which like many others was scrumptious and unexpectedly filling. Though the pastas are a must have they also have great steaks and other main dishes and the desserts are awesome. Very popular so would advise booking in advance for larger groups. Staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy.

This restaurant is amazing. I lived in Cape Town 8 years ago and haven’t come back to the city until now, and the food is just as incredible. The service even better (even though it was amazing when I was here last). A definite to visit if you like Italian food and are in the Western Cape area.

Visited Il Leone for lunch today and had a fantastic experience.Ive usually only gone for dinner but lunch was absolutely amazing and our waitress Ntombi was so graceful.The penne gamberetti prawns is usually my winning pasta but TODAY was extra DELICIOUS.Im a sucker for pasta and Il Leone never disappoints.. I haven’t been on a first date in ages, but this would be the perfect place for one. Great food that is always at least as good as the last visit. Impressive wine selection and nice cosy ambiance! This is also my favourite place to go when the weather is bad.

The food was excellent aswell as the service.We sat outside and unfortunately due to construction on the property next door it got quite loud at times but that did not dampen the mood.Since we were celebrating a birthday they brought out a complementary birthday plate. Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.

My wife, Vivienne, and I had lunch at IL Leone today. This was our first time and we both agree that it was one of the best dining experiences that we have enjoyed in a very long time. The food, the ambiance, the service were all beyond reproach and we will certainly be going back for more..

Starters were good. For mains ordered a pasta and but it only came with six tiny prawns. Prawn pasta = 90% pasta and 10% prawn

One of the best pasta. The quality is amazing and prices within expectation. About 200rand for a pasta and for this quality, worth the money. The tomato sauce blend in nicely with the fragrance of seafood. Pasta was al dente. It would easily beat many pasta dishes i tried in rome, ischia and napoli. Top 5 best pasta ever.

Vibrant Italian style restaurant. Would recommend the fried calamari starter together with the Tagliata main coupled with a Tamboerskloof shiraz. Fancy setting, but very relaxed attire perfect for a relaxing dinner night out.

We enjoyed dinner so much, we came back for lunch the next day!

Went there in a party of 9 guests. Everyone agreed that the food was outstanding. The service was friendly and efficient, and we did not have to wait long for our food. Lovely vibe created by the artworks on display. Most probably Cape Towns very best authentic Italian restaurant. We will go back again and again.

Nice place and excellent service BUT food is not as good as it could be. Dont ask for the Spaghetti Vongole!!! No flavor at all, only chili (????) I love this plate and have eaten many times in many places...they destroyed it. The carpaccio absolutely freeze and the ragu sauce seems like packed one. The place, the Panna cotta and specially the nice polite waiter avoids me from giving them a 2 stars

If you enjoy Italian food and are staying in Cape Town, you should eat at this place.It gets busy on a Saturday so it’s worth booking ahead to guarantee a table (although we managed to sit outside as a walk in). I’d highly recommend the spinach and ricotta ravioli dish.

A very nice place with very good service. Great pasta that uses the Capes abundance of seafood to great affect. The wine selection fitted the food perfectly. The only qualms that I had was the price of seemingly simple dishes and the state of the toilet! But these dont hinder one having a very pleasant dinner.

Always a great time here! It has been a favourite restaurant in Cape Town for me for the past decade, with consistently outstanding food and service. My staple here is the Fiorentina steak that is always done to perfection. Their pastas are also always superb. Love their Italian wines at affordable prices.

The chef Sydwill is absolutely the best-if you enjoy a chicken strip pasta,ask them to change the pasta to linguine and see how the aromas dance on your tongue with a good vino of cause. Definitely my best Italian spot in town. Waiters and management super friendly and always makes you feel at home

We booked a table for 8pm and by 8:45pm still had not been seated. We were not looked after, no-one offered to take our order for starters in the meantime or offered us a snack. We stood waiting for 45 mins and kept getting told the table was nearly ready and was being prepped. When I asked if we could go to the table in the meantime they admitted there were still people there who would not leave. We left after that, most annoyed. It could have been handled much better by management. We will not go there again despite being patrons for years. The next day we called and the owner (manager?) said we were lying. We are not impressed at all!

Ive been here twice and both times were fantastic. The food is brilliant and the staff are welcoming and incredibly accommodating. I absolutely love the artwork too.
